Fun fact, you don't actually have to use the e tech gun for the mission to count, for some reason getting elemental kills on any bandit anywhere sometimes progresses the quest

I was able to get 25 E-Tech kills for the Doc Mercy mission with the Hornet, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't, don't really know why but it worked

I did this "challenge" myself. It was really hard until you get your first shield "the flame of the Firehawk" and then the rest of the challenge is all downhill. All you need is a unkempt Harold and a bonus package.
I did this with a friend. Except we’re only allowed to use legendary gear and we farm everyone who drops a legendary in order. First few are Hornet Kirblaster Bonus package Thunder ball first Harold Emperor Fast ball Etc. drop rate for the thunder ball for me was one every like 30 kills You got lucky
Yeah I would say apart from the hornet I got insane luck for the drops, its that youtube recording luck ahahaha, I really wanted to try a 1 gun 2 people challenge, where you're only allowed 1 gun and you have to drop it to eachother after every reload, sounds...interesting

You can get legendary shields from other bosses before bunker. Henry drops the cradle, blue drops the fable tortoise, and tumba drops the transformer.
Pimon drops the Transformer, Tumbaa drops the Deliverance

1:50 Hive isn't a legendary anyways, so you're good. His drop is the Invader, which I think is just a Hyperion Sniper with burst fire like a Dahl

It's splash damage that counts toward your kill counter. So explosive splash kills will get it done easy.
I will definitely be using this next time I play this mission.
I did this ages ago with krieg, it's pretty easy if you're unlucky because of the xp gain.
Gets easier from guns or XP, based entirely by your luck. Either way, you're still winning. :D
i did this on axton with my friends a while ago, it was hell having to farm every enemy 3 times so all of us could have weapons

I think you forgot about your second rule. Can't farm the same legendary over and over. Should of just went right to the hellfire farm.

You can read only farm doc mercy, so you dont need the mission weapon

the chances dont change, got a lvl 7 fire infinity while doing the mission
Playthrough doesn't matter. Just getting an elemental infinity to drop period is very rare.
