    Thank you for your advice Shawna. We shall proceed with a positive attitude...and keep you posted. In listening to your answer.....it's so important to "proceed in small steps, make sure she is solid" before moving on.

    I would just like to mention, I did use a lead and halter on my horse for a while for safety purposes - taught her to put on her own. As soon as we had developed enough trust that I didn't feel her hind end was going to get swingy, we started working without it. Someone asked me the other day if I was going to teach her to wear a halter. I laughed when I realized how far we have come. (She does still put on her own halter, tho.) Now, to go work on the trailer stuff... :)
