Background vocals sung by Richard Page of Mr. Mister! Great tune! Great message! “Come let us reason. Though your sins are scarlet, they shall be white as snow!”
@@Janeintheok I played in worship bands for 15 years. I grew up listening to DC Talk, Newsboys, MxPx, The OC Supertones, Switchfoot, Jars of Clay, Starflyer 59, Audio Adrenaline, and Deliriou5, all of whom I think are actually good (or at least decent). Somewhere along the way, it all became derivative worship music that would repeat its chorus 12 times in a row. What happened? Now is the chance for Christian music to be more interesting and eclectic than secular music, but they lost their ideas somewhere after the 90s too
I was listening to teaching from other book of Isaiah from the teaching of calvary chapel Ontario and Pastor Paul Mentioned that whenever he teaches through Isaiah and comes across where God says come let us reason together it reminds him of this song and that he loves it I had to check it out. I love it.Amazing Discovery Thank you Jesus for this beautiful composition and inspiration from the book of Isaiah
It's a shame that secular radio doesn't play or even recognize as many 1980s contemporary Christian artist like Roby Duke and others. The the beauty and quality of the music is equal to that of other great artists of that Era such as Christopher Cross and Dan Folgulberg!.
Never heard of him, but was just given a bunch of records that included a sealed copy of "Not the Same" so was curious about his music. I listened to nothing but contemporary Christian music in in the early eighties to early nineties and never have heard of him, but glad to have heard his music now. Can't believe he was overlooked. He has a Michael McDonald like sound and great voice. Harmonies are spot on, creatively written, incredible musicianship and sound quality. Thanks for sharing!
This was the opening song for pastor Raul Ries when he started the radio program "Manna For Today" then I heard the voice I recognized saying "Welcome Manna For Today..." I called my friend Pete Claproth who was a room mate, and said hey Pete is that you?! Sure was. Pete and Roby traveled the country together. I really miss Roby, he was a cool brother in the Lord.
I also remember this being the intro music to Raul Ries' radio program. I didn't know that Roby had passed until just recently. Played this CD (actually it was on cassette when I had it) many times.
"Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They shall become as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool" (Isaiah 1:18 NASB 1995) I cannot comprehend the Almighty Soverign, all loving God and Creator of the universe who needs nothing HUMBLING HIMSELF seeking restoration of a relationship with humanity, much less myself! He's asking us to reason with Him and offers abundant forgiveness to those who will claim Christ Jesus's sacrifice of Himself on the cross for their own sin (rebellion). That thought is overwhelming, to say the least!
I only ever heard this song on one of the old "Release Audio Magazine" editions when it came out. Over the years it will just pop into my head. Decided this time to finally look it up. So good.
I love that Christan song when I was a teenager at my grandmother's house I heard on the cable tv music choice comepitary Christian music channel and couple of years ago I tape forward that day.
I mega heart this! I think I have in on vinyl...gotta look. Loved Bro. Roby and heard him do this album live at my church at the time. Thank you for YouTubing it!!
Saw him in early 80's at Beaver Ruin Road. They set up tables for him to be above us who were sitting in chairs. Ridiculous for such a saint who now lives in the presence of Jesus Christ.
Thank you, gracia's for that song and i may say is cautious with the kind of communicational factor's evolutionary or revolutionary, hope you understand my suggestion's.
Roby Duke was one of the first artist I listened to when I found the Lord.
Yes, this takes me back to 84 when I came back to the Lord when I was 19!🙏
Nice song! I really like it. Eventhough this is a Christian song I really feel a Michael McDonald and the Doobie Brothers vibe to this song.

This needs to be on Spotify!
Exactly!!!
I second this!
Agreed
So good I can’t believe it’s Christian music!
Christians have the best to sing about and God’s word in music that pierces and melts every resistant heart to fall captivated by Him and His love!
You haven't heard much Christian music 😄

Christian Music was on that West Coast Vibe that is now called Yacht Rock. Some would call this Ark Rock as in Noah's Ark.
I helped Roby back when this song broke. Good man. Soulful Mississippi singer.

Me too, haha!
This is exactly what just happen to me haha❤
I also found out about this one song and artist thanks to Calvary Chapel Ontario’s Isaiah 1-4:1 vid.
Oh, the memories. Rest in peace, Roby.
One of the most soulful Christian artists I've ever heard. Every song on this LP is excellent.

Isaiah 1-4:1 - God confronts the Kingdom of Judah from Calvary Chapel Ontario brought me here.
I Never Got To See Him In Concert But I Love His Music

2022 hi everyone
July 26th 2024 now. Hello.
This is such a jam. Thank you for posting!
I love that Christan song when I was a teenager at my grandmother's house I heard on the cable tv music choice comepitary Christian music channel and couple of years ago I tape forward that day.
The Prince of Christian Yacht Rock.
Taken from Isaiah. Good Evangelism for the intellectual agnostic. God loves us.
great song, it's totally YACHT!
Yes indeed
I mega heart this! I think I have in on vinyl...gotta look. Loved Bro. Roby and heard him do this album live at my church at the time. Thank you for YouTubing it!!
great song

Remembering an earlier version of the song in 1981 at Oral Roberts Univ. over Tulsa Christian Radio. Heavenly.
