Overwhelming is an understatement for new players. GMS is currently way too different to play efficiently without help. So much has changed.

seeing someone with not a lot of knowledge on the current state of GMS try to play is so interesting. I have a pretty old account on the Reboot server (no trading/dropping items to other players/limited carrying ability through bosses) and a 260+ main character. I probably play a few times a year where I get sucked back in for a month or so and then lose interest LOL, but old school servers are definitely my preference these days. I've seen a few videos about MapleWorlds/MapleLand and while I am excited to see a potential global/western release I'm definitely nervous about how Nexon will try to make money off of it. From what I've seen of the Korean server the meso to USD rate is pretty insane at the moment and people are spending thousands of dollars to scroll items and get mesos from other players by exchanging cash items. Hopefully it's a little more balanced by the time it gets to global, but knowing Nexon I'll just be grateful it functions. Awesome video!
Hey man thanks for the comment! And yeah we will just have to wait and see how nexon is going to handle the release of maple worlds in the west. I'm just hoping it's going to be somewhat playable

Playing GMS was definitely something different. But old school maple has definitely still got my preference

mapleworlds is gonna be 100 different variants of old school MS run by people who don't even know how to balance games. what if you join a server only then for the person running to to completely change some aspect of it that you disagree with, thereby rendering all your time wasted. how are people gonna know which of these hundreds to play. the vast majority of these will be abandoned with barely any players. and the few which people will gravitate to will be so massively overcrowded, and i even heard there are player limits. there needs to be an official version backed by the developer for it to work. i will stay on GMS
so... a bunch of things nexon can do and have already done...?
Uuum you make some interesting points. When looking at the Korean version of maple worlds there is one big old school server that is almost 1 to 1 what we had back in the day. I think in the west something similar will happen or at least I hope so
