Russians like going to Hainan for vacation, a nice tropical place to get away to. They like going to Thailand, too.
I was just surprised they had so much influence in Sanya, with Russian restaurants, clubs and even street signs!
The costs of everything in the US is going through the roof! Seems like in just 15 years everything has doubled or even worse! Every time I watched a video of tourists buying food and other stuff in China I think the costs of everything in China is like 12-14 times cheaper than the US! Which means the low wages that people in the US think the Chinese people are making are actually higher than the wages in the US because people could buy so much more with their “low wages” than the Americans with their “ high wages!”

In China you can make things as cheap as you want. For example you can get $1 dumplings but you could also get fancy 5 star dumplings from a luxury restaurant for $10. And I noticed in the Netherlands everything just has 1 price, there is no ‘I can get it cheaper over there’. Probably same goes for the US?

The huge difference comes only when dealing with the currency exchange rate, making China's average wage much lower than that in the West, but when looking at how much wage an average worker in China earns per month and can buy with that amount of money in China then makes the average wage in China is higher than in the West.
For example, the common minimum monthly wage is at least 2500 RMB per month in many low income parts of China, with that amount a person is able to afford to rent an apartment, utilities (electric, water, mobile phone service), eat 2 restaurant meals, grocery and public transportation, and still have money left for saving, but this is impossible for the minimum wage earners in the West due to high costs of living, they can't afford to pay rent and eat 2 restaurant meals per day, not even one restaurant meals per week!
China is a better environment for low wage earners because it has more and better choices for them, they can afford and enjoy things that low wage earners in the West can't.
Hainan has a 30 day free visa policy for foreign tourists,so there are a lot of russian tourists here.
Also, permission to travel for families with military draft age boys/young men is easier for China as staying past 30 days is not an option. Another great content video.

In America or Canada...$100 you could not afford to pay for decent Motel! Eating for Three x three meals $150 + tips and taxes and transportation $10 plus $20 for taxi.
Similar package here $400 to $500 per day for three people.

Enjoying the gimbal work, David! Also, when we lived in Sanya for 6 months during the pandemic, we came across this creepy abandoned Russian shopping centre in the middle of the city. An entire shopping centre (like 3 floors too) all in Russian and all abandoned. Weird!

Awesome! The hotel is called Shanghai Huating Boutique Hotel in Sanya. You can find it on Trip.com and we got the ‘special Balcony King Room’. It says ‘with 2 single beds’ but these beds could pass for a double bed. Have fun!
