  • Another episode covering my family trip to Decatur Illinois earlier this year. To my surprise, I came across SD40-2 3489 in the deadline, in the process of being scrapped. The unit ran locals on the NS Lehigh Line and Portland Secondary numerous times in 2017-18. I couldn't believe I was seeing it again for the last time. In addition, I caught two CN trains (presumably locals) passing through Decatur during our stay.
    Thanks for watching!

Nice catches in my hometown! Not gonna lie, it hurts seeing those SD40s cut up. The first CN train was L525 that usually switches out Fuyao Glass in Mount Zion. Second train was the A432 to Memphis.

That was really sad seeing those SD40’s cut up. Lost to the torches.

I’m pretty sure 3515 was involved in the kismet train collision when it was still owned by BNSF and before it was sold to HLCX the ns bought it from them

Nice little change up Austin, loved it. That New cast P5 was beautiful sounding, and so was that P3 which sounds like to be a new cast to me.
    Keep it up 👍🏻
