I committed to UT last week and I’m moving from AL so I’ve been binge watching so many of your videos in preparation! I love your videos and keep on rocking :))
I love that! I have a lot of friends that went the ACC route and said it was great. Sure, you will, unfortunately, miss a year on campus at UT, but they have such wonderful options for transfer students and there is so much potential if you're a hard worker
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is so great!! I'm going to be an incoming freshman this fall at UT so seeing this video in my notifications made my day!! #hookem !
Julia Wezio my main concerns are that the big size will just overwhelm me in like walking to class or size of classes etc , and the other is that although UT does help minorities, there is still a lot less of them on campus. i think being around people like me is something i need and i know it may affect me.
janet vargas Hey I talked to my counselor about the same concerns as you and I was hesitant on going to Baylor since I know that it’s majority white. But it’s something you’re gonna face throughout life and you have to understand that we are the MINORITY. It’s a reality check, but why are you gonna let an opportunity to get accustomed go, because you’re afraid to step out of your boundaries?
I got into the CAP program and was gonna go to UT Arlington but now I'm taking a year off to further build my resume and improve my sat and act much more, it's a risky play but I feel positive about it
Parikshit Roychowdhury UT is 110% the place to go for accounting. They’ve been #1 for years and the professors are amazing people. I personally am not stellar in accounting but I am a marketing major 😂
hi okay so i’m a junior in hs and i’m out of state and i was wondering what kinds of things i should work on if i want to increase my chances of getting admitted !
ThereGoesInfinity well i feel like the only thing that i don’t feel great about is my act and writing my essay, which i know will be a huge determinant in the selection process. i’m just curious as to what other things i should do or work on !
Honestly, if you aren't already, see if your high school or another school in your area has a club that's directly related to what you want to study in college. For example, I knew I wanted to study business from pretty early on so I joined clubs like debate, model UN, DECA, etc to become a better public speaker and learn about jobs in my area. Another kind of unique thing that people forget to try before applying to college is seeing if you can job shadow over the summer. It's kind of like an internship but without pay, but you can also get some unique ideas of what to write about in your college essays from doing this. If you haven't already, give the SAT a shot and see if you do any better on it. I find that people usually tend to do a little bit better on one versus the other so try it out!
ThereGoesInfinity definitely. so instead of job shadowing, i’m taking a cna course and i will eventually work as one. is something like that a good alternative to job shadowing if it gives me a glimpse of what my major will be ?
Hey, you know how you said you have to have a gpa of 3.6 + to transfer...is that the same for students who wish to do a study abroad at UTA? Because I'm only in first year but in my third year I have an option of going here for a year, but do I have to have a 3.6 gpa and above to get in or does it depend on my own college? :) I also love watching your videos on UTA because it gives me inspiration to study hard to try and go here haha
I'm really not sure because I haven't really done any of that myself... I do want to study abroad at some point down the road. I don't think they'd have a GPA cap for that! I know that at UT Austin each college tends to have its own rules and policies when it comes to grading, but I'm sure an academic advisor would be good at answering those! Also, just to clarify, you do mean UT at Austin, correct? There is UTA which is UT Arlington!
I personally loved having a car! Gave me a lot more freedom and since Austin isn't very walkable, it's worth it if you have the budget for it. Parking can be really expensive so heads up
I’m really want to attend this school, I’m a junior in a Texan high school and I’m in the top 6%... I havnt taken my SAT or ACT..... I’m only taking AP and Dual course and im in a variety of clubs.... is my chance of getting into UT good?
It's hard to say because it will depend on which school, major you wish to pursue, and things like the quality of your essay and such but you will be able to automatically receive general acceptance to UT if you are in top 6%! Hope that helps
Cass E Roll I know this is super late but transferring into UT is super hard so congrats! I was wondering if you were willing to share your experience. Thanks!
I applied already, and I wish I did the MSS thing and do you know if I’m able to apply for MSS if I accidentally signed up for the wrong section, oof I’m scared
Hey! First of all, I LOVE the office so loving the profile pic Second of all, I don't think you can apply for MSS. You will get an invitation if you're invited into the program where you'll automatically be accepted :) If you applied to general business, you're good to go
Update: I got into the CAP program and I changed my mind at the last minute since other schools offered bigger scholarships compared to the other Texas universities.
It really is going to depend on things like extracurriculars, the strength of your essay, and the program you are applying into. It sounds like you have a really solid foundation, but keep working in those other fields to grow even more!
ThereGoesInfinity thank you for replying I’m part of national honor society softball and I take all ap classes and dual credit classes I’m trying to go to the nursing program but omg ily so much love your channel much love

Mam!! How can I qualify as an instate student in Texas universities system..I heard that if we get, like, min of 1000$ dollar scholarship, we qualify as an instate student; so that we can pay tuition fee around 10k to 13k dollars..how far it's true??
hi! to be honest, it really depends based on where you are from. from what my out of state friends have told me, they had to live in austin under their own name as an independent to qualify for in state tuition but it's definitely possible!
Hey nice video...I am from India and am planning to do MS in civil engineering somewhere in or around Houston...is UT at Austin good for my subject If not suggest few ...pls... need u r help

UT has always been my dream school i just want to say thank you for making this video it really has helped me because im a junior in high school right now and hope that I get accepted to UT #HookEm 🤘🏽
tuition is definitely not 70k (yet at least, lol!). I'm an in-state student and I pay about 12k a year for tuition. Of course, housing like apartments and dorms are more expensive (between $600-1200 a month) so that's worth factoring in but still UT is probably one of the best value-for-your-dollar schools
I wish I could help answer that but I'm not entirely sure... I lived in an off-campus dorm so I did not have that same deadline. I think the best thing to do would be to give the UT housing office a call and see if they can clarify that. If it's May 1st though you still have a few more days!
I’m so sorry to hear that! I can assure you that UT will have great experiences nonetheless. Did you get accepted to any other schools that you felt fit your vibe more?
@@JuliaWezio I got into UCSB, UCSD and UMich but I guess Berkeley or MIT would've been reasonable to leave the state. But I have never been to UT campus, virtual tours are close to nothing. Is there a lot of partying and stuffs?
I don’t think there’s more partying than any other school. I never got into the party scene and still had a wonderful time at UT. I would try to set up informational interviews with students via Instagram or FB groups at multiple schools to see which fits you best!
Howard Roark dude that’s not cool. If she wants to wear makeup, she can. People feel confident with or without it and it’s not your choice. Let her be herself. She looks beautiful
Try to pay attention to her content, not how she looks. I'm sure that if she didn't have makeup, someone else would have a complaint. Society is really messed up with how they expect women to look. People just need to respect women and be a positive presence in the world :)
Class of 2024 where you at haha
HEREEEE
I’m class of 2023 and let’s hope I get into UT it’s always been my dream school

I transferred in to UT this year from ACC with a 4.0 GPA and 37 hours after freshman year. ACC is a great option if you are willing to work hard

Yaay! Class of 2022 :D
So excited!!
Got my transfer acceptance letter yesterday! Woo!
O Mathews CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
How long was it between your app submission date and your decision? The waiting is KILLING me!!
I am pretty sure that it was a few months LOL! I submitted in October and found out towards the end of the next December ( and that was early!)
Hey O Matthew's what school at UT you get into? Also what was your gpa?

may i ask, what did you get on your SAT & what percentile were you in in your class? thank you!
@nate First of all that is so cute that y'all know each other
@nate Second of all, I got a 28 on my ACT so that's around a 1280-1300 on the SAT if I'm right? And I was top 18% in my class
