Nice video :) Couple of tips:
1) Make sure to use a BMS with balance charging/discharging capabilities (or use a balance connector) - to prevent any pair of cells from being overcharged (edit: looks like that board will balance, but a balance connector is better).
2) Make sure to use a capacity tester/analyzer to check that the cells used are still in good condition, if they are not brand new cells. Anything below 1,000mAh per cell is no good.
3) For those of you that don't have a spot welder (either can't make one, or too expensive), soldering will do the job as well (though it won't look as neat).

Hello, for first Ilike your Channel you make really good job. I'm not sure of how charge the batterie, do the BMS regulate the charge and we can use a DC adapter with 15v aprox or we absoluty need a li-ion charger and the BMS is just here for the security? Sorry for my english i'm french.
BMS will cut off power supply when battery full. and protection when battery overcharge. The best for lion pack you should buy IMAX B6. It have balance charge will be better.

Ideally you need a balance charger like the iMax B6 or Accucel 6 - they do CC/CV charging modes.

It will create 5200 mah as 8 batteries are connected in series creating 14.8 volts, and the backup will depend on how much power is used

No. You must be using adapter 16.8V to charger for this battery. Becase maximum voltage of battery is 4,2V. 4,2x4=16.8V. If you using 20V to charger for this pack very dangerous. Do not try that. Thank you!

Why should we use the 16.8v adapter?
because it is a 4S pack (4 in series) and each cell is 4.2V max. So 4.2V * 4 = 16.8V for a 4S battery.
If you want more compatibility (or just the best solution) then you can charge with a balance charger such as iMax B6 or Turnigy Accucel. it will charge depending on the number of cells you have.

You connect parallel battery. This video i connect 2 battery parallel so you can connect 3, 4 or 5 battery if you want.

No. If voltage of adapter the same voltage battery. can not charge.
Late reply but 4s is 4.2 x 4 = 16.8. 4.2 is the fully charged voltage per cell. 3.6 is the nominal voltage per cell so it = 14.4v. 12.8v is usually discharged or as most people will want to take a 4s pack. Anyway, so yeah he used a 16.8 charger because 16.8 is 4.2 (full charge x 4)
How it will indicate when charging is full??
When battery full. BMS and adapter will cut off power and the light of adapter turn from red to green

Yes. The thin wire for charging balance. It thin but ok bro. If you want to pull more watt you must be design more mAh, voltage for battery and 2 wires power (+,-) bigger for the best sound. Example: 4s3p, 5s3p, 6s 2p, 6s3p....incase speaker >50w i think you should be use 4s or 5s battery pack. I will make video design 5s battery in next day. Very easy to make switch to power supply for speaker when you don't wan to using battery but want to use AC power. Just use adapter >18v 5A.

No. If you charge this pack with 12v adapter so adapter will die.

@@zlatestoj4507 a 12V charger will not work because the nominal voltage of a 4S pack is 14.8V (maximum is 16.8V). You'll damage the charger and the cells will not charge.
You also cannot use a 19V charger as that is more than the maximum voltage of 16.8V for that pack.
Either use a 16.8V charger, or better still, use a balance charger (like an iMax B6) and set the charger to 4S mode. It will charge up the pack with the correct voltage.

@@KingMinhvuong Not true, almost all lipos are charged with 1C charging. Also the balance board will bleed off excess amps of certain cells and allow current to flow to the low ones, and should ramp down charging when almost fully charged to help get the most charge possible into the battery. If those are 2500mah cells(for example) you could charge at 10 amps and charge at the standard 1C rating, BUT the charge board only supports up to 8amps. A 3amp 16.8V power adapter would charge 3 times faster and be under 1/2 the 1C charge rating.
Charging that pack at 8A will severely limit the lifespan of the battery pack. You need to check the manufacturers datasheet for more info, but those batteries came from laptop packs and therefore are not designed for high current/fast charging. They charge at 1A per cell without a problem, but I don't recommend any higher.
The capacity of those cells could also be quite low if they have been well used in the past, affecting the ability for them to be charged at higher currents.

That is old battery, about 1000mAh
They look like scavenged laptop battery cells so will depend on their previous usage.
If you're going to make this with used cells then make sure to capacity check them first, to make sure that the capacity is what you require it to be.
Any cell below 1000mAh should not be used.
