Barry had his chance to go after Caitlin and he still didn't want her. He wanted Linda in season one and Patty in season two. That means that he isn't interested in Caitlin like that. And Iris was always Iris WestAllen.

The journalism thing is just a smoke screen. The writers think by having Iris randomly say she's a reporter, that's an appropriate substitute for her being immersed as a reporter. They'll never remove her from StarLabs. She's planted there for all eternity! lol
Barry is an idiot now lol. For some reason, he doesn't know why Nora is acting this way and rushing to fix everything, even though he was in her exact same position in season 3. He even pointed this out last episode, and Nora blamed herself for Cicada's new victims this episode. But the writers make him an idiot for not realizing this himself just so Iris can give a stupid pep talk and make her character seem more important than it really is. Then there was the fight with Cicada where Barry rushes in with no plan and gets his butt whopped just like last episode. Nora's brilliant idea is to hit Cicada's with lightning while outside of the range of his dampening powers. Don't get me wrong, that actually is smart. My problem with that is _why didn't Barry think of that?_ Nope, writers had to make Barry stupid so Nora is the one to come up with the idea to save the day and look like a better speedster than she actually is. I get they we're trying to have Nora redeem herself after all the mistakes she made, but why do they have to make Barry look bad so other characters look good? All in all, this was not a good episode.

Agree, but then again the only times she's cried and I've believed her was season 1 when Eddie died and season 3 when she found out she was going to be killed by Savitar...and three other people died instead and she just went along making her wedding plans with Barry.
@@pheonix133630 Yes! You are so on point. Those 2 scenes of Iris crying were actually really convincing. She was REALLY sad when Eddie died, but when she has to get emotional over Barry going into the Speedforce or when he got his prison sentence, her crying seemed so fake. And the scene of when Barry told her Savitar was going to kill her was truly natural acting by Patton, but most other times, her emotions feel so phony.
As much is would like her to be caitlin and barry's son the only way for her to be barry and caitlin's is for them to have adopted her, but it's possible that they have.
Look at her wardrobe ,her jewellery especially ... The way the people whose sentences she completes are Barry and Caitlin's. Here's another thing .... Mannerisms are not inherited ..... They're taught 😉

That scene where Wells says Nora gets her smarts from Iris was idiotic. Yeah ok, Barry is a CSI (and Nora followed in _HIS_ footsteps) with a degree and Iris is a blogger. But Nora got her smarts from Iris. Yup, makes perfect sense. Not forced writing at all. This episode was terrible.
I am actually really pleasantly surprised how much screen-time Caitlin's storyline is getting. I said, even at the finale of last season, that I was worried it would be similar to previous seasons when Caitlin and Cisco had a scene every few episodes about them, but while it is so very annoying that the team is still split into WA and the Scientists I'm kind of happy that we get to see the others banding together to be there to help Caitlin find out about her dad. And Ralph has been toned down because he was soooo very annoying before, but now he's growing on me a bit. Though I'm still *very* glad he and Caitlin will *not* be a couple because NO. Though I will say that I hope the 'secret' of Cisco, Caitlin and Ralph searching for Caitlin's father comes to a head and the split is confronted and maybe have Barry be hurt that they didn't confide in him or ask him for help and have maybe Joe (not Iris for the love of), since he's both observant and kind of an outlier on the team, ask Barry to maybe think about not only why they didn't ask for his help or confide in him, but also why it took him so long to notice they were working on something when they're not really hiding it all that much. I mean the new Wells dropped a big clue and Barry just gave Caitlin a look before apparently completely letting it go and focusing on other things. For the last few seasons, Barry has been focusing so much on himself and Iris and putting everyone else's problems to the side, I hope they show how much ground he has to make-up with the other members of OTF and not just gloss over it in favour of more WA and he remembers the two people who have *always* been there for him at a drop of a hat who he's been sorely neglecting since mid season 3 or so. I mean imagine if Oliver was completely MIA when Diggs found out about his brother because he was focused on his own problems, the fans would have had a fit... or maybe that was just me. Those two are like brothers and it would have pissed me off royally, just saying. Side note: I started to wonder since last week, what if part of why Nora is not so close to Iris is maybe because Iris cut off ties with Cisco and Caitlin, who could have been two of Nora's few non-West connections with Barry (Nora said Green Arrow not Oliver, just saying), because Iris blames *them* for not being able to save him from a fate they knew about since season 1 (that she stated as a reason for deciding they are 'destiny') and for not being able to bring him back this time. What if Iris gave Nora one version of events and then, maybe when she got old enough to find out for herself and found out the truth, Nora's angry at Iris for painting her dads best-friends as the villains and cutting them out of her life when I've no doubt they would probably still be trying to find a way to bring Barry back. Though a big part of me thinks Nora's from a different Earth and is either doing a dry-run for her own world or the future she's trying to change is one where *she* no longer exists because Iris and Barry aren't together anymore, like a less stabby version of Savitar, because after meeting her she might be banking on them loving her enough to stay together to create her. Although I'd suggest IVF.
I completely agree, though the show has improved some points, it doesn't feel authentic anymore, especially Barry's interactions (except with Nora, which I like, if they didn't make up 90% of Barry's screen time) Also very interesting side note. I can totally see Iris cutting ties with Caitlin and Cisco, she isn't friends with them anyway and of course, she would keep her daughter away from them because they could make Nora feel closer to her dad and Iris is clearly the jelaous type :P
@@butzichen The showrunners have always seemed to shelter Iris away from most of the other main characters. She's always shadowing Barry and gets an occasional father-daughter scene with Joe, but nothing substantial that moves the plot forward, just same old repetitive pep talks. Iris exists solely because she needs Barry for plot purpose. It's really sad how all of sudden she's a shotcaller and seemingly co-owner of the very lab that Caitlin and Cisco helped build from the ground up. The fact this unskilled, useless interloper has the power to kick them out of the lab is sickening.
@@butzichen I miss when it was about *all* of Barry's relationships and showing them work as a *team* to figure everything out, now it's about Wa and them leaving a lot of the work to Cisco and Caitlin and then swanning in after the actual work is done and just in time to put on the suit and be the hero Iris wants, not the hero he could be. I think how Nora worked with Cisco is kind of a throwback to earlier season with OTF, and I like the idea of Nora throwing around ideas with both Cisco and Caitlin, I just wish her dad was given as much, or hell *any* freedom to do the same. You're right, even now Iris doesn't really feel like she has any genuine relationships with the other members of the team and with Barry and Joe they kind of put her on a pedestal and more see what they want to see not who she really is, since whenever she does something shady they just brush it off. I think Iris would be jaded and bitter enough to cut Cisco and Caitlin out of Nora's life and justify it by saying something like "you're the reasons she's growing up without a father" because I don't think that's a part of the hero life she's every really understood: the willingness to sacrifice oneself to protect the ones you care about, or even a stranger because it's who they are. Iris always wants to be Barry's first priority, and I don't think she likes it when he has to put the safety of others first. Just look how she threw back his sacrifice in his face when he went into the speedforce TO SAVE THE WORLD!
@@drlee2 I don't think it was really the showrunners sheltering her from them, just them realising how very little Iris has in common with any of them. I have found myself wondering more than once what Barry and Iris have enough in common to keep them friends since childhood, and then Flashpoint cleared that up for me: Barry's childhood tragedy and proximity. That seems about it. I always wondered why Barry didn't change the ownership of STARLabs in season 2 to make it an equal partnership between himself, Cisco and Caitlin since they were the three that Fake-Wells hurt the most (besides Barry's parents) and they helped build both the lab and later Barry's team into what is today. But theyn they'd be entitled to a say in things land would have to be treated like partners (how Barry sees them) instead of employees (how Iris seems to see and treat them). Just a thought. Oh and Joe as a silent partner since I think of him as a silent partner of OTF as well and could be a way for Barry and the others to help Joe save for a Jenna's college fund.
@@pheonix133630 Yes, I think it's part the lack of common thing, but also that Iris is a VERY unapproachable character. Joe has nothing in common with any of the scientists either, yet he has great friendships with all of them. It's not the fact that Iris is a non-scientist, it's that Iris not a warm character. They've never even done a real "small talk" scene between Iris and any of the other characters. Just look at how effortless the other characters can small talk with each other. Iris can't do it without it seeming awkward. Hell, she can't even do it! lol You never see her ask how Cisco or Caitlin or Harry is doing. IF she does it, the writers sneak it in a team interaction scene. She mooches off all the other characters for dialogue and plot purpose. And I do think Barry would share with Caitlin and Cisco if Iris didn't exist. I mean, I get it that he has to think of his family's future first. But for me, it's just another excuse for Iris to be relevant. That's why I don't want anyone to tell me that Iris is this independent person when the entire time she's been on the show, she's been living off of Joe and Barry. The average WA stan likes to have it both ways: they want to say that WA is this great love story, but they don't want to admit that Iris is completely dependent on Barry for her livelihood. How do they think they can afford that big apartment? Certainly not off of Iris' non-existent reporting job. She hasn't been a reporter in like 2 years! lol And she "works" in the lab that Barry owns. That's the opposite of someone who is independent.
Why is no one remembering KF communicating through Cecile with a message for Caitlin -- "I found Thomas. He's been this way this whole time." Killer Frost has literally already done this legwork. Caitlin doesn't need a detective, she needs a telepath to tell her what KF knows.

For all the WA junk we have to endure at the moment, there is still no denying that Caitlin is getting the B plot (and what a good one it is) with lots of screen time, while the (ahem) "leading lady" is sitting on her ass in Star Labs doing nothing. So for me "The Flash" is essentially the story of Barry and Caitlin.

jimmy jones I'm fine with them being just friends. I like that Caitlin gets along with everyone, that's character development and not like other characters that literally have no purpose in the story if it wasn’t for the protagonist.

Wow I've never clicked a notification so fast before lol I was wondering if we were going to get this episode since the Snowbarry was all of 2 seconds but dang if that 2 seconds wasn't the titanic theme lol Man I just miss their friendship so much. But you did miss a parallel React! When Caitlin is figuring out the elements chiper she says "They don't exist because they're not supposed too." Which almost is a direct quote of Barry from last season when he says "The pieces of tech don't fit together because they're not supposed too." I just love how in sync they are mentally even if they can't talk 😍😍😣😢 As for Ralph I like his character but I hate that they're using him as a wedge to split the groups, well not even that because even though Barry cared about him so much last season Ralph now feels like he's been dumped out back with the trash like Caitlin and Cisco. I wouldn't be so mad if Caitlin's arc wasn't perfect for Barry to be involved in. She needed an investigator, Barry is a Crime Scene *Investigator* , Barry could phase through the steel door (get struck by the lazers and Cait has to quickly figure out the code to help him), and instead of Ralph taking one look at her father's notes and just shrugging and walking away Barry would've been with her mentally every step of the way in fact it's literally his job to figure out these types of things and it's a science based puzzle! It's perfect for them! As for who's watching her (which about gave me a heart attack) i'm going to guess either her father is testing her and watching her progress or someone who is after her father (the reason why he decided to fake his death) got tipped off by Ralph's snooping and is now using Caitlin to get to her father. Episode 6 is called The Icicle Cometh and Icicle is an ice villain from the comics so I'm now wondering if her father is Icicle or if the potential person after her father is and perhaps forced her dad to make the cryokentic gene all those years ago and somehow it got in Caitlin. All the questions but dang if her story line isn't exciting this season! Now while I "liked" the episode it definitely should've been a OG Team Flash centric episode where we worry about Cisco but just another missed opportunity... getting a lot of that lately.

@@butzichen Like can you imagine this episode in the season 1&2 style? The first 1/3rd would be heavy in the Cait's father plot, except make it Barry instead of Ralph, Cisco and Ralph have some bonding time maybe we learn about how seriously Ralph's heart has been broken in the past and connects with Cisco, and then we have the scene with New Wells' fake out death since it's for plot purposes (but make it shorter). We get Cicada finding Joe's connection to Vibe. And the action bits of the episode are with Ralph, Cisco, and Nora. Mid act Barry and Caitlin get back from her mom's (you know cause they can pop back and forth at super speed instead of taking the freaking van to keep them out of the plot -_-) and have a moment. We cut to Iris trying to connect with Nora as they go and visit Joe and Cecile, only when they get there they see Cicada is too. Panic button is hit, this all plays out similar to the episode where Cisco gets tackled through the breach and New Wells finds him. Etc. Etc. Except it's Caitlin who's there when Cisco vitals go dark, we actually get her reaction to her best friend dying. And Cisco doesn't pop in right away. Barry comes back to STAR Labs, him and Caitlin have a moment of losing their best friend and *then* Cisco comes back much to their obvious relief. Then at the end you have the trio hanging out discussing what they found about Caitlin’s father, Cisco makes some pop culture reference that triggers the idea of the chiper and the three work it out together, exchanging looks as they read the message and the camera pans back to where we see the person watching them. And then still end the episode with the Nora and Wells scene. Like really writers, is that so hard?
Kendall Miller well said! It really shouldn't be this hard. It's like they come up with good ideas and all the pieces of the puzzle are lying in front of them and they still put them together in the wrong way. I'm still looking forward to the crossover, but if the show doesn't adress their issues soon, I don't know how long I can keep watching (my once all tiem favorite show) :(
@@butzichen Agreed with with how the rating are plummeting I think a lot of other people do to. It's not the same show anymore that's for sure. But if the rating keep falling because people are just tired of it then whether the writers want to or not the network is going to make them change. Flash is a huge CW money maker and they're not going to let it go easily so if they keep losing viewers and losing money the network is going to do something about it. And I know for sure if people heard there were OG Team Flash moments a ton of people would come back, like many of the viewers who watch Reacts videos. They want a successful show, bring back what made people love it.

I just found out that Grant pushed against Snowbarry in the beginning of the Flash and was heavily for WA because he thought it's more interesting :( Hope he changes his mind...
Well here's the thing I saw that interview and he only said that *after* he admitted that they had been pushing Barry and Caitlin romantically which I think he wasn't supposed to do since the writers avoid admitting that like the plauge. And in the context of the interview it sounded a whole heck of a lot like he was backtracking to get himself out of trouble. Plus it completely contradicts everything he's said in the past about wanting Barry to explore other romantic interests. His behavior also heavily suggests he doesn't actually support or at least have any passion in WA, he shuts down when he talks about them, becomes monotone and only says the party lines of "they're the gold standard" and "she's the love of his life" but never goes any further than that when he used to practically give speeches about Barry and Caitlin's dynamic. So I think he's just saying what he has too, he's paid to not undercut WA and in that interview he almost did, he realized it and he backtracked. Danielle even admitted she's pretty sure she's the only cast member who still watches the show and they all used to, so no, I don't by for a second Grant is happy with the direction the show has taken, he just says what he has too to not rock the boat unfortunately :(

@@shadowX2121 It's so sad man, they used to all love it so much. They bantered about it and even coyly supported Snowbarry on Twitter in the first two seasons (or not so coyly in Carlos' case where he literally replied "Snowbarryyy!!" To a picture of Barry and Caitlin Grant shared lol), the blooper reel for season 2 honestly looks like they're having the time of their lives, and in interviews you could barely get Grant to sit down because of his enthusiasm for it and how he got so excited with his OG Team Flash castmates. And now Grant has left twitter due to harassment, he stills get enthusiastic about the show im general but not as much and the minute WA is brought up he completed depletes and is monotone. He is very rarely the one to bring WA up in interviews and only nods along agreeably if Candice talks about them while none of the rest of the cast ever mention the ship, and you can just tell there’s tension in the cast. They're not all super at ease with each other like compared to say Supergirl's cast especially. Even Candice has recent interviews where you can tell she's very disappointed in Iris' character but is trying to be supportive of the show. The actors are as unhappy as we are so I really hope things change soon for their sake and ours.
Honestly here’s my opinion I really don’t like iris and all that, but this is all the writers fault. In season one iris was just Barry’s secret love, and she was barley there, and everything was good. There weren’t like 20 members of team flash back then there was only Caitlyn, dr Wells, Cisco, joe, and Barry! Honestly iris is way to included now!!! She’s literally almost in every scene now. I do feel bad for Candice Patton though cuz she’s a really good actor and none of this is her fault. Btw I love your videos and I can’t wait to see snowbarry get bigger and bigger. Nora seems like a good fit, but if Sherlock Wells is skeptical, then I'm skeptical about her motives. I don't appreciate people who ask for something, and don't return the favor. Here is another interesting feature in the periodic table: Caitlin's first and last names can be fully spelled using the elements. The writers definitely fear having Cait and Barry interacting with each other because they know it will explode in their faces. Cesium and barium are some of the most explosive elements. Plus hopefully like their elements, Snowbarry can cause damage as friends and maybe as a couple!
OMG I love so much the idea of Wells bringing up Caitlin's feelings (not just about Barry, but in general) She hides so much what she feels, and that's one of the reasons why KF is so important to her (as person) Frosty just gives a shit about everyone. Exemple? She just made clear that she don't like Iris, when everybory is all "Iris is the best and all". Cait still hurted. And the less Barry could do was notice that, cause, GOSH she's him best friend, now that Iris is his wife (*pissed off here) And Cait should tell him her problems too, cause he DO care's a lot about her.

Wait, isn't STAR Labs pretty much shut down at this point outside the superhero team in the basement? So how would their stock be worth anything, let alone be worth enough to pay for however exorbitant Sherlock Wells fees are? Even if they still have the museum up and running, (do they? I can't really remember) I find it doubtful the labs' stocks will be worth that much. Now if they were selling off their excess lab equipment, that would be a different thing altogether, since some of that equipment can go for hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not more depending on the condition it's in, how old it is etc. Or if they sold off, say, one of their properties they apparently aren't using. Seriously Barry, go to an accountant and make some use of the crap-load of stuff fake-Wells apparently left you. Sorry, I think my brain is still stuck in accounting mode.

One thing I've realized after watching this over and over again, in the parallel where both Barry and Caitlin were both being comforted in the pipeline, they were matching clothes. Black jacket with an olive green top/shirt. Maybe it's just me, who was late to realize, but I thought I would put that out there.
Technically Barry does own S.T.A.R Labs because in season 2 episode 1 Thawne's lawyer said that Eobard Thawne bequeathed and gave the ownership of (S.T.A.R. Labs + his house) to Barry. And Barry would be very rich if he sold Well's(Eobard Thawne's) house.

I can't believe popular Ralph Dibny is. It's like the standards of what a character should be on this show have severely lowered the last couple of seasons. Ralph was the LEAST funny character of Season 4.
Going back and watching these waiting on the next video. 5:25, Barry SHOULD have been there. As a CSI Barry would have compared the handwriting on the certificate to a sample of Caitlins Mom and got actual proof.

There is also Ralph, a nice guy, but in this new season he's kind of useless, I have the feelings that he replaces Barry when he supposed to be with Caitlin and Cisco. Sometimes I almost think that I watch two differents shows, The Fabulous West Family and The Adventures of Caitlin, Cisco and Ralph. I can't stop hopping for a change, an evolution in the narration, because I like all the characters (except Iris), included Nora and the new Wells and I'm sure they can do a better show, but If they stay like that, one day I will just stop watching and I probably not the only one thinking like that. i get the frustration of not having at least a fucking real talk between Barry and Cait, if i didn't spend already a few years of my life on this i swear i would have quit the series already(the snowbarry moment were what kept me going)
I just realized that Reverse Flash is in the periodic table because starting at element BA look 2 elements to the right and 1 element down and you can see element Rf or Reverse Flash. Also I think I have a idea on why the writers won't make Barry and caitlin a couple because it would copy the same love triangle that was between Oliver, felicity, and Earth-1 laurel lance.
Pause at 4:08 ok let me explain beginning of season 2 (I think) we learn in fake Wells death he leave star labs to Barry making Barry the new owner when iris and Barry get married we would assume that they would both have control over star labs considering that during the six months after Barry enters the speed force iris ran the team

The journalism thing is just a smoke screen. The writers think by having Iris randomly say she's a reporter, that's an appropriate substitute for her being immersed as a reporter. They'll never remove her from StarLabs. She's planted there for all eternity! lol

Barry is an idiot now lol. For some reason, he doesn't know why Nora is acting this way and rushing to fix everything, even though he was in her exact same position in season 3. He even pointed this out last episode, and Nora blamed herself for Cicada's new victims this episode. But the writers make him an idiot for not realizing this himself just so Iris can give a stupid pep talk and make her character seem more important than it really is.
Then there was the fight with Cicada where Barry rushes in with no plan and gets his butt whopped just like last episode. Nora's brilliant idea is to hit Cicada's with lightning while outside of the range of his dampening powers. Don't get me wrong, that actually is smart. My problem with that is _why didn't Barry think of that?_ Nope, writers had to make Barry stupid so Nora is the one to come up with the idea to save the day and look like a better speedster than she actually is. I get they we're trying to have Nora redeem herself after all the mistakes she made, but why do they have to make Barry look bad so other characters look good?
All in all, this was not a good episode.
Hmmm, maybe there is some Iris in her after all...and it pains me to say that because I've liked Nora for the most part so far.

@@pheonix133630 Yes! You are so on point. Those 2 scenes of Iris crying were actually really convincing. She was REALLY sad when Eddie died, but when she has to get emotional over Barry going into the Speedforce or when he got his prison sentence, her crying seemed so fake. And the scene of when Barry told her Savitar was going to kill her was truly natural acting by Patton, but most other times, her emotions feel so phony.
It would make perfect sense if Nora turned out to be Caitlin's daughter,just look at her talents!
As much is would like her to be caitlin and barry's son the only way for her to be barry and caitlin's is for them to have adopted her, but it's possible that they have.
Fingers crossed for Caitlin being her possible future step-mother, she's so proud of her already!

I am actually really pleasantly surprised how much screen-time Caitlin's storyline is getting. I said, even at the finale of last season, that I was worried it would be similar to previous seasons when Caitlin and Cisco had a scene every few episodes about them, but while it is so very annoying that the team is still split into WA and the Scientists I'm kind of happy that we get to see the others banding together to be there to help Caitlin find out about her dad. And Ralph has been toned down because he was soooo very annoying before, but now he's growing on me a bit. Though I'm still *very* glad he and Caitlin will *not* be a couple because NO. Though I will say that I hope the 'secret' of Cisco, Caitlin and Ralph searching for Caitlin's father comes to a head and the split is confronted and maybe have Barry be hurt that they didn't confide in him or ask him for help and have maybe Joe (not Iris for the love of), since he's both observant and kind of an outlier on the team, ask Barry to maybe think about not only why they didn't ask for his help or confide in him, but also why it took him so long to notice they were working on something when they're not really hiding it all that much. I mean the new Wells dropped a big clue and Barry just gave Caitlin a look before apparently completely letting it go and focusing on other things. For the last few seasons, Barry has been focusing so much on himself and Iris and putting everyone else's problems to the side, I hope they show how much ground he has to make-up with the other members of OTF and not just gloss over it in favour of more WA and he remembers the two people who have *always* been there for him at a drop of a hat who he's been sorely neglecting since mid season 3 or so. I mean imagine if Oliver was completely MIA when Diggs found out about his brother because he was focused on his own problems, the fans would have had a fit... or maybe that was just me. Those two are like brothers and it would have pissed me off royally, just saying.
Side note: I started to wonder since last week, what if part of why Nora is not so close to Iris is maybe because Iris cut off ties with Cisco and Caitlin, who could have been two of Nora's few non-West connections with Barry (Nora said Green Arrow not Oliver, just saying), because Iris blames *them* for not being able to save him from a fate they knew about since season 1 (that she stated as a reason for deciding they are 'destiny') and for not being able to bring him back this time. What if Iris gave Nora one version of events and then, maybe when she got old enough to find out for herself and found out the truth, Nora's angry at Iris for painting her dads best-friends as the villains and cutting them out of her life when I've no doubt they would probably still be trying to find a way to bring Barry back. Though a big part of me thinks Nora's from a different Earth and is either doing a dry-run for her own world or the future she's trying to change is one where *she* no longer exists because Iris and Barry aren't together anymore, like a less stabby version of Savitar, because after meeting her she might be banking on them loving her enough to stay together to create her. Although I'd suggest IVF.
I completely agree, though the show has improved some points, it doesn't feel authentic anymore, especially Barry's interactions (except with Nora, which I like, if they didn't make up 90% of Barry's screen time)
Also very interesting side note. I can totally see Iris cutting ties with Caitlin and Cisco, she isn't friends with them anyway and of course, she would keep her daughter away from them because they could make Nora feel closer to her dad and Iris is clearly the jelaous type :P
@@butzichen The showrunners have always seemed to shelter Iris away from most of the other main characters. She's always shadowing Barry and gets an occasional father-daughter scene with Joe, but nothing substantial that moves the plot forward, just same old repetitive pep talks. Iris exists solely because she needs Barry for plot purpose. It's really sad how all of sudden she's a shotcaller and seemingly co-owner of the very lab that Caitlin and Cisco helped build from the ground up. The fact this unskilled, useless interloper has the power to kick them out of the lab is sickening.
@@butzichen I miss when it was about *all* of Barry's relationships and showing them work as a *team* to figure everything out, now it's about Wa and them leaving a lot of the work to Cisco and Caitlin and then swanning in after the actual work is done and just in time to put on the suit and be the hero Iris wants, not the hero he could be. I think how Nora worked with Cisco is kind of a throwback to earlier season with OTF, and I like the idea of Nora throwing around ideas with both Cisco and Caitlin, I just wish her dad was given as much, or hell *any* freedom to do the same.
You're right, even now Iris doesn't really feel like she has any genuine relationships with the other members of the team and with Barry and Joe they kind of put her on a pedestal and more see what they want to see not who she really is, since whenever she does something shady they just brush it off. I think Iris would be jaded and bitter enough to cut Cisco and Caitlin out of Nora's life and justify it by saying something like "you're the reasons she's growing up without a father" because I don't think that's a part of the hero life she's every really understood: the willingness to sacrifice oneself to protect the ones you care about, or even a stranger because it's who they are. Iris always wants to be Barry's first priority, and I don't think she likes it when he has to put the safety of others first. Just look how she threw back his sacrifice in his face when he went into the speedforce TO SAVE THE WORLD!
@@drlee2 I don't think it was really the showrunners sheltering her from them, just them realising how very little Iris has in common with any of them. I have found myself wondering more than once what Barry and Iris have enough in common to keep them friends since childhood, and then Flashpoint cleared that up for me: Barry's childhood tragedy and proximity. That seems about it.
I always wondered why Barry didn't change the ownership of STARLabs in season 2 to make it an equal partnership between himself, Cisco and Caitlin since they were the three that Fake-Wells hurt the most (besides Barry's parents) and they helped build both the lab and later Barry's team into what is today. But theyn they'd be entitled to a say in things land would have to be treated like partners (how Barry sees them) instead of employees (how Iris seems to see and treat them). Just a thought. Oh and Joe as a silent partner since I think of him as a silent partner of OTF as well and could be a way for Barry and the others to help Joe save for a Jenna's college fund.
@@pheonix133630 Yes, I think it's part the lack of common thing, but also that Iris is a VERY unapproachable character. Joe has nothing in common with any of the scientists either, yet he has great friendships with all of them. It's not the fact that Iris is a non-scientist, it's that Iris not a warm character. They've never even done a real "small talk" scene between Iris and any of the other characters. Just look at how effortless the other characters can small talk with each other. Iris can't do it without it seeming awkward. Hell, she can't even do it! lol You never see her ask how Cisco or Caitlin or Harry is doing. IF she does it, the writers sneak it in a team interaction scene. She mooches off all the other characters for dialogue and plot purpose.
And I do think Barry would share with Caitlin and Cisco if Iris didn't exist. I mean, I get it that he has to think of his family's future first. But for me, it's just another excuse for Iris to be relevant. That's why I don't want anyone to tell me that Iris is this independent person when the entire time she's been on the show, she's been living off of Joe and Barry. The average WA stan likes to have it both ways: they want to say that WA is this great love story, but they don't want to admit that Iris is completely dependent on Barry for her livelihood. How do they think they can afford that big apartment? Certainly not off of Iris' non-existent reporting job. She hasn't been a reporter in like 2 years! lol And she "works" in the lab that Barry owns. That's the opposite of someone who is independent.
Why is no one remembering KF communicating through Cecile with a message for Caitlin -- "I found Thomas. He's been this way this whole time." Killer Frost has literally already done this legwork. Caitlin doesn't need a detective, she needs a telepath to tell her what KF knows.

For all the WA junk we have to endure at the moment, there is still no denying that Caitlin is getting the B plot (and what a good one it is) with lots of screen time, while the (ahem) "leading lady" is sitting on her ass in Star Labs doing nothing. Wow I've never clicked a notification so fast before lol I was wondering if we were going to get this episode since the Snowbarry was all of 2 seconds but dang if that 2 seconds wasn't the titanic theme lol Man I just miss their friendship so much. But you did miss a parallel React! When Caitlin is figuring out the elements chiper she says "They don't exist because they're not supposed too." Which almost is a direct quote of Barry from last season when he says "The pieces of tech don't fit together because they're not supposed too." I just love how in sync they are mentally even if they can't talk 😍😍😣😢
As for Ralph I like his character but I hate that they're using him as a wedge to split the groups, well not even that because even though Barry cared about him so much last season Ralph now feels like he's been dumped out back with the trash like Caitlin and Cisco. I wouldn't be so mad if Caitlin's arc wasn't perfect for Barry to be involved in. She needed an investigator, Barry is a Crime Scene *Investigator* , Barry could phase through the steel door (get struck by the lazers and Cait has to quickly figure out the code to help him), and instead of Ralph taking one look at her father's notes and just shrugging and walking away Barry would've been with her mentally every step of the way in fact it's literally his job to figure out these types of things and it's a science based puzzle! It's perfect for them!
As for who's watching her (which about gave me a heart attack) i'm going to guess either her father is testing her and watching her progress or someone who is after her father (the reason why he decided to fake his death) got tipped off by Ralph's snooping and is now using Caitlin to get to her father. Episode 6 is called The Icicle Cometh and Icicle is an ice villain from the comics so I'm now wondering if her father is Icicle or if the potential person after her father is and perhaps forced her dad to make the cryokentic gene all those years ago and somehow it got in Caitlin. All the questions but dang if her story line isn't exciting this season! Now while I "liked" the episode it definitely should've been a OG Team Flash centric episode where we worry about Cisco but just another missed opportunity... getting a lot of that lately.

@@butzichen Like can you imagine this episode in the season 1&2 style? The first 1/3rd would be heavy in the Cait's father plot, except make it Barry instead of Ralph, Cisco and Ralph have some bonding time maybe we learn about how seriously Ralph's heart has been broken in the past and connects with Cisco, and then we have the scene with New Wells' fake out death since it's for plot purposes (but make it shorter). We get Cicada finding Joe's connection to Vibe. And the action bits of the episode are with Ralph, Cisco, and Nora. Mid act Barry and Caitlin get back from her mom's (you know cause they can pop back and forth at super speed instead of taking the freaking van to keep them out of the plot -_-) and have a moment. We cut to Iris trying to connect with Nora as they go and visit Joe and Cecile, only when they get there they see Cicada is too. Panic button is hit, this all plays out similar to the episode where Cisco gets tackled through the breach and New Wells finds him. Etc. Etc. Except it's Caitlin who's there when Cisco vitals go dark, we actually get her reaction to her best friend dying. And Cisco doesn't pop in right away. Barry comes back to STAR Labs, him and Caitlin have a moment of losing their best friend and *then* Cisco comes back much to their obvious relief. Then at the end you have the trio hanging out discussing what they found about Caitlin’s father, Cisco makes some pop culture reference that triggers the idea of the chiper and the three work it out together, exchanging looks as they read the message and the camera pans back to where we see the person watching them. And then still end the episode with the Nora and Wells scene. Like really writers, is that so hard?

It's like they come up with good ideas and all the pieces of the puzzle are lying in front of them and they still put them together in the wrong way. I'm still looking forward to the crossover, but if the show doesn't adress their issues soon, I don't know how long I can keep watching (my once all tiem favorite show) :(
@@butzichen Agreed with with how the rating are plummeting I think a lot of other people do to. It's not the same show anymore that's for sure. But if the rating keep falling because people are just tired of it then whether the writers want to or not the network is going to make them change. Flash is a huge CW money maker and they're not going to let it go easily so if they keep losing viewers and losing money the network is going to do something about it. And I know for sure if people heard there were OG Team Flash moments a ton of people would come back, like many of the viewers who watch Reacts videos. They want a successful show, bring back what made people love it.

It's clearly he is so wrong. Smh
Well here's the thing I saw that interview and he only said that *after* he admitted that they had been pushing Barry and Caitlin romantically which I think he wasn't supposed to do since the writers avoid admitting that like the plauge. And in the context of the interview it sounded a whole heck of a lot like he was backtracking to get himself out of trouble. Plus it completely contradicts everything he's said in the past about wanting Barry to explore other romantic interests. His behavior also heavily suggests he doesn't actually support or at least have any passion in WA, he shuts down when he talks about them, becomes monotone and only says the party lines of "they're the gold standard" and "she's the love of his life" but never goes any further than that when he used to practically give speeches about Barry and Caitlin's dynamic. So I think he's just saying what he has too, he's paid to not undercut WA and in that interview he almost did, he realized it and he backtracked. Danielle even admitted she's pretty sure she's the only cast member who still watches the show and they all used to, so no, I don't by for a second Grant is happy with the direction the show has taken, he just says what he has too to not rock the boat unfortunately :(

They bantered about it and even coyly supported Snowbarry on Twitter in the first two seasons (or not so coyly in Carlos' case where he literally replied "Snowbarryyy!!" To a picture of Barry and Caitlin Grant shared lol), the blooper reel for season 2 honestly looks like they're having the time of their lives, and in interviews you could barely get Grant to sit down because of his enthusiasm for it and how he got so excited with his OG Team Flash castmates. And now Grant has left twitter due to harassment, he stills get enthusiastic about the show im general but not as much and the minute WA is brought up he completed depletes and is monotone. He is very rarely the one to bring WA up in interviews and only nods along agreeably if Candice talks about them while none of the rest of the cast ever mention the ship, and you can just tell there’s tension in the cast. They're not all super at ease with each other like compared to say Supergirl's cast especially. Even Candice has recent interviews where you can tell she's very disappointed in Iris' character but is trying to be supportive of the show. The actors are as unhappy as we are so I really hope things change soon for their sake and ours.

Honestly here’s my opinion
I really don’t like iris and all that, but this is all the writers fault. In season one iris was just Barry’s secret love, and she was barley there, and everything was good. There weren’t like 20 members of team flash back then there was only Caitlyn, dr Wells, Cisco, joe, and Barry! Honestly iris is way to included now!!! She’s literally almost in every scene now. I do feel bad for Candice Patton though cuz she’s a really good actor and none of this is her fault.

Nora seems like a good fit, but if Sherlock Wells is skeptical, then I'm skeptical about her motives. I don't appreciate people who ask for something, and don't return the favor.
Here is another interesting feature in the periodic table: Caitlin's first and last names can be fully spelled using the elements. The writers definitely fear having Cait and Barry interacting with each other because they know it will explode in their faces. Cesium and barium are some of the most explosive elements. Plus hopefully like their elements, Snowbarry can cause damage as friends and maybe as a couple!

Wait, isn't STAR Labs pretty much shut down at this point outside the superhero team in the basement? So how would their stock be worth anything, let alone be worth enough to pay for however exorbitant Sherlock Wells fees are? Even if they still have the museum up and running, (do they? I can't really remember) I find it doubtful the labs' stocks will be worth that much. Now if they were selling off their excess lab equipment, that would be a different thing altogether, since some of that equipment can go for hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not more depending on the condition it's in, how old it is etc. Or if they sold off, say, one of their properties they apparently aren't using. Seriously Barry, go to an accountant and make some use of the crap-load of stuff fake-Wells apparently left you.

One thing I've realized after watching this over and over again, in the parallel where both Barry and Caitlin were both being comforted in the pipeline, they were matching clothes. Black jacket with an olive green top/shirt. Maybe it's just me, who was late to realize, but I thought I would put that out there.

I still watch The Flash but sometimes I want to stop, because more I see, more I'm tired of this. If Caitlin wasn't in the show, I will gone a long time ago. Since he's with Iris, Barry doesn't care of anyone, only West family. Little by little, Caitlin and Cisco seem to become some strangers for Barry. Barry can't even have a little chat with Caitlin, what a beautiful frienship isn't it ? It upset me so much !
There is also Ralph, a nice guy, but in this new season he's kind of useless, I have the feelings that he replaces Barry when he supposed to be with Caitlin and Cisco.
Sometimes I almost think that I watch two differents shows, The Fabulous West Family and The Adventures of Caitlin, Cisco and Ralph. I can't stop hopping for a change, an evolution in the narration, because I like all the characters (except Iris), included Nora and the new Wells and I'm sure they can do a better show, but If they stay like that, one day I will just stop watching and I probably not the only one thinking like that.

I just realized that Reverse Flash is in the periodic table because starting at element BA look 2 elements to the right and 1 element down and you can see element Rf or Reverse Flash. Also I think I have a idea on why the writers won't make Barry and caitlin a couple because it would copy the same love triangle that was between Oliver, felicity, and Earth-1 laurel lance.
