Thanks for sharing this, Jon! As a fan of Tetris, this is a great little machine! A nice collectible that that has Tetris in a smaller size, plus the additional games, for that price: instant buy for the personal games library and collection -- and will go nicely with last year's Tetris products!
Gameboy and Tetris is still the perfect handheld combination IMO. And I love portable gaming as a whole. Gameboy Tetris on the Analogue Pocket is also very nice to these older eyes
I like the newer approach they've been taking to the bonus games. Including a handful of them as a little extra and clearly putting the actual retro titles as the main event is way better than how they put "300 GAMES" in huge text on the boxes of older units.
Imagine playing Mega Man 1-6 on something THIS small Not only would it be insanely hard to see what’s going on, but we’d officially have the world’s smallest playable version of Mega Man
Hey Jon idk if you know this but the My Arcade and Tiny Arcades if you open them up you can find jumpers that go onto different game (Some units have epoxy on the jumpers)
I think this is good for a budget keychain game handheld that would be sold at Target or drugstores, this would be a good gift for students to play Tetris while waiting for school. But I wish they put some effort into the bonus games like include the Nokia mobile games like Snake, Breakout, Bowling, those were fun mobile games included with Nokia brick phones were decent quality, not the filler Atgames shovelware games like Hit Mouse!
After the reviews of the Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man by My Arcade, I thought for sure the third one this week would be the My Arcade Asteroids flight stick unit. Hopefully soon!
The most interesting part of this package is the fact that some of these games are intellavision games, checkers and baseball are just nes ports with added graphic hacks. Actually if I remember correctly checkers uses no official rule set. As there’s no forced jump, and a draw is determined by pieces and not by if a player can’t move a piece.
I’ve been carrying and playing my OG first gen Gameboy playing Tetris, while it’s a wonderful things the battery issue is still and issue. I might consider this for Tetris only of course. 😆
I think that display is better for all other games than Tetris. Tetris game screen is just very small. If something like this would support Tate mode and you could play Tetris with console turned at your hand it would be great. They just needed think how but controllers so it would work.😊
I think I might get the Pocket Player version instead because I can actually read the score on it. If the screen on here was higher resolution, it would be perfect.
@@GenXGrownUp I don’t care about the bonus games anyway, they’re just the same Famiclone (Knockoff NES) games that I’ve seen on the red one they made a long time ago. Plus, half of the time I was looking at the scores and wondering “is that a 0 or an 8?” Because all I could see was something that looked like a 0 with a line on one side lol
OKAY. I love this little thing. Sometimes when I want to game, I just want a quick fix and this is just the ticket. I can definitely see my self sporting one of these in my back pocket. Now for something similar made by Atari.... Hmmmmm.
The price is certainly tempting, but I'm looking to pay a bit more for something a bit bigger with considerably more capability. The Tetris game is just a bit too small for me.
Saw this at gamestop today while looking for gameboy stuff and said nope. My initial thoughts are that it doesn't look particularly ergonomic, the screen is nearly too small and the rotate buttons should not be oriented that way. Have gb tetris, modretro tetris and tetris 99 already so I bought paperboy and left.
The major problem I have with all of these 'new' My Arcade products is that they're just variations on existing items, in either a different form factor, or with a few tweaks. It strikes me that they haven't got any new IP to really knock the socks off of anyone, although I'd very much love to be proved wrong.
You're not wrong - lots of riffing on the Namco titles for the last several years. They showed a Pole Position device at CES, so that should be right around the corner.

A good review, thank you, but, I hate to be that guy, but, for ten dollars more you could get a tracfone blu view 5 and play many different versions of Tetris. :P
I get where you're coming from about it being cute, but for $20 to play a strange version of Tetris with screen tearing, "that's a no for me dog." The other no-name games don't add value because you can find them in every plug and play and they're always bad. For $5? Maybe. Not $20.
Maybe I'm too picky, but the lack of a high score table on this and the inaccurate sound on the Ms Pac-Man joystick player yesterday are big misses. Enough to put me off purchasing them both.

I can testify that this tiny keychain version is great. Got it for my 8-year old for Christmas. She loves it.
