I haven’t been a big follower of golf up until the last few years but Adam Scott is one of the players who isn’t always at the top of the leader board but is someone I always hope does well. Seems like a genuine good person
About 10 years ago. Adam Scott played in Sony Open, Hawaii. On a Thursday or Friday he had a morning start. Straight after he finished I saw him trotting down the cliff trail to go surf Diamond Head. Pretty cool, mid-tournament. I've also played golf with Kelly. He is very good.
About 20 years ago, I was standing in line at Yatala Pies between Brisbane and the Gold Coast (Queensland Australia) and I am absolutely positive Adam Scott looking quite tanned was standing in line in front of me. I love that he is so grounded and real. Good guy that is for sure.
Such a great video, you can see how Adam tries to pull from Kelly’s championship mindset. In turn, he shares with Kelly things a tour veteran would notice, like dropping something like alignment aids from your pre-shot routine.
That was 304. You could tell he went after that one, so club head speed was probably around 125. It looked like his 9 degree driver. 125 club head speed is about a 325 carry, off a tee. Off the deck, great smash factor, probably an 11 or 12 degree launch angle... 304. Love that sound at impact.
@@ericschroeder8932 not even close on any of that. The pga tour average off a TEE with driver is 10.9 degree launch angle. I’ve watched brooks and Dj hit driver off the deck 100 times at sea level. It’s not making 300 on the fly. Adam Scott’s average Cary with a driver off the tee is 285. Sure he can carry it 300-310 off the tee if he hammers it. But not off the deck on his best day
@@jwild5360 young Jedi, my numbers are correct. Adam's driver off the deck was one swing, all out, a flyer, and the GC Quad numbers bear it out. Tour driving distance averages measure drives on two holes per tournament, but it doesn't mean they hit driver on each hole. Your launch angle stat isn't indicative of launch angle when these guys free wheel and let it rip. Check youtube for "Adam Scott 3 Wood on #9, 2021 Farmers Open @ Torrey Pines". Go to 2:09, and watch his drive, then 290 carry 3 wood (a bit up hill, and no, it wasn't down wind). All of these guys can carry driver much further than their "average". To quote Matt Damon, in Good Will Hunting, "I don't wanna spend the, the rest of my f-in' life (insert evening) sittin' around explaining $h..t to people." Peace out everybody, long and straight.
I think we can all agree the accuracy of Slaters straight ball was slightly off due to Scott's ability to defend the area around the pin with confidence. It goes to show in surfing the best way to progress is to know your limitations in respect to golf where progress is best utilised by the knowledge of your opponents limitations...and this is exactly how this scenario played out even before a ball touched the ground.
Two great guys, would have loved a moving target challenge on the ball collection vehicle as that would have required a level of anticipation on their part ;)
Yeah love Adam to bits. BUT . There's no correlation here. Try Western Gales. open qualification course near near Troon Scotland. Notwishstading the T.boxes,be lucky if you get 1 lie that's not down/uphill. Below/ above yer feet😂 & there's ladders in the bunkers. Oh & it's usually at least a 20.mph wind. SO, the plain of your shoulders will be of NO consequence😂 you'll just have to play GOLF.😂😂😂
Kelly Slater is honestly one of the great guys going around. So chill and relaxed with everyone. Absolute legend.

That’s fucking killer.
Some of the best life advice in their conversation.
Definitely thought the same thing. Commitment
Kelly explaining the golf swing to Adam...Adam explaining the surf plain to Kelly. AWESOME

I learned more about surfing than any other video I’ve watched about golf. Hell yeah.
Great video, enjoy seeing the laid back side of Adam. I am not going to stop knocking down Uniqlo's door until I get one of those logo hats.
I've heard Adam on a podcast what a great guy..tells a good story as well, a real true blue Aussie
JJ reddicks?
Love to see these two do a similar video over 9 holes

Love this video with these two legends ⛳
People will not fully realise the difficulty behind that straight 304 driver carry off the deck…
not gonna lie that made my jaw drop
Monitor is set to read a long carry. Was a far cry from 304 carry of the deck.

304 off the deck - amazing!!!
Adam has a top 2-3 golf swing of all time. I’d stack him up against anyone in history. Just absolutely gorgeous looking. He makes it look too easy
For me the top 1 swing. His swing, plane, impact position, tempo is just perfect.

2 greats of their sports…sad we won’t be seeing Kelly in aus this year🙁
Great stuff with “The GOAT!”.
Wow, Adam is a good surfer
I got to caddie for Adam and all we did was talk surfing. He’s one of the regular good people
Sobering life lessons serenaded from two chill men
This was great! As a surfer and a SoCal resident I’m a bit biased. ;) Still need to play those courses though!
Pelican Hill is great. I"m about 3 miles away, and play it often. When you do play it, play the North, as it's a better layout.
@@ericschroeder8932 Great! Thanks so much for the tip!

304 off the ground ADAM your taking the piss 🤣🤣🤣 we need see more videos like this
I just wish he could putt
@@davidchipman7612 he can . All the American commentator's got no idea.
5:25 - yes
Great guys 👍👏
So happy to see Adam Scott get a golf lesson from Kelly Slater. Finally, he's getting some help on that hideous swing.

Slater, doesn’t even glove up. Because he doesn’t need to 🐐
Keep it in the short grass boys 🤙🏾
This is a good thing
That was cool
So good.
I have two arms and two legs, why cant I hit it like Adam.?
Now I’mma just wait for Kelly slaters pro golfer to come out on ps2 eventually
Driver off the deck, flushed
So cool 👏
Good people, great sportsmen :)
Those grips look wild
Natural golf..see Moe Norman

Or Kelly being a 1.
What Mathew said...
It would be great to be great.
Slater can play a round of golf with me too if I can grab an hour session at his wave pool.
Add a witb to these.
Like a lot of amateurs, KS has too much lower body rotation too early. But it's all they teach these days.
When these professional athletes try other sports they just catch on quick. It’s not surprising at all. That’s why they are pros. Lol.
Not all professional athletes lol
2:30 nope that's all wrong what Kelly just said. Sorry Kelly
He’s a professional surfer not a swing coach

jesus christ, such a cheesy song.
Scott hasn't done anything since his Masters win in 2013.
You too.
He has done plenty as a human and as a golfer. Your definition is he hasn't won so he lost.
Thanks Ricky Bobby-"if you aint first you're last" 😆
What a pathetic comment
Golf with Kelly 🪣 list ☑️
