- I've had a wonderful time last week in Ouwehands Zoo with my son. My son slept and I watched lovely Minggu and mommy Tjintah. Minggu is so interested in all food at the moment. She literary eats it out of moms hand haha. Besides eating, she still loves to climb. Hope you'll enjoy the video! I'm sorry some images are a bit foggy, my camera wasn't warmed up yet (we came from outside where it was cold and inside it was pretty warm).
Because I get a lot of comments about the enclosure of the orangutans I also included this in the title screen: "The orangutans do have an outside enclosure. They live in the Netherlands in Ouwehands Dierenpark in Rhenen. It's winter over here and so it's cold outside and it rains a lot. The orangutans do not like that kind of weather here, so they prefer to stay inside. But they do have an outside enclosure".

Idk why watching this brings tears to my eyes. Maybe bc she has such innocence and trust in her eyes and I hope this ugly world never takes that away from her. She’s absolutely perfect ♥️.

Baby orangutans are the most adorable creatures on this earth, and Minggu might be the cutest one I have ever seen. Sadly, this cuteness is one of the main reasons that orangutans are now an endangered species, since their is a major demand for them as pets. A poor farmer from Borneo can make 10 times more than their average annual income, just by selling one baby orangutan to a wealthy buyer from the middle east or asia. Unfortunately, capturing an orangutan baby usually means it's mother was killed. It's such a tragedy...
Anyone who keeps a wild animal for a pet should be locked up in a cage 🔒

Likes Thanks for sharing. Have u ever been to Sabah? Make a trip there to the Sepilok Rehabilitation Center for the Orangutans. It's really worth going there. They are the highest intelligent primates in the world followed by the Chimps n then the Gorillas. Make a trip there if u've not been.

This zoo is pathetic!
They just keep throwing the wrong foods at the mother constantly to keep her content. No exercising and nothing to help her maintain her natural abilities. That’s why she is extremely fat.
Orangutangs in the wild are fit and trim. You will never ever see a fat orangutang in their natural environment.
This is abuse!
Unfortunately, you see many dead orangutans in the wild.
