I visited the DMZ and walked around in the DMZ. As a soldier in the US Army I spent 2 tours, total of 2 years stationed in the DMZ. Patrolled the DMZ in the winter. The North has artillery that can reach Seoul. The buildings we lived in still had bullet holes since the last time they came across.

What a beautiful review of the DMZ tour, and especially loved your compassion for the families who have been separated due to North and South separation.

Did you actually enter DMZ? Or was this just a tour to see the view of North Korea?

You summed it up beautifully! Yes North and South Korea should be United some day soon.

My mom’s family is in NK as well. Only if NK would come to an agreement, open up the country, not keep their people in prison…

It gives two exploring tours types! One - the expensive to Panmunjom village (blue buildings) or the tunnel and View Point tour without Panmunjom village (half price +/-). I booked the cheap tour in 2016.
