I love shannon as a dude and drummer but god dang he can tend to drag tunes…. He just tends to sit waaaay back on the beat and just continues to inch it’s way slower and slower. Not hating at all, but just listen to georgy porgy for example, the tempo in the beginning in the beginning is nice, and by lukathers solo he’s a bpm or two slower at least…. Anyways, cool to hear a mix of the older version and the early 90s version. I liked the original style of the tune played up til around 1987 or so, but I really kinda dug the new arrangement of the new guys put together for the past tour, little bit funkier groove and hits were different etc. glad there’s some Toto around to still scratch my Toto itch…glad that Spain was able to see them as well.
I saw him twice with the band. First time on the Toto XIV tour, he sounded like he had lead arms and legs. Second time on the "40 times around" tour, he was much better - Crisp and powerful. Nothing like Porcaro or Philips tho', sorry.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought this, made such a groovy song like Georgy Porgy just sound slow and flat!
