Oh wow! What a treat for me to read your beautiful comments, Terry! You always make me smile from ear to ear whenever you visit. Thank you for watching! I hope you're keeping safe and healthy.
Thanks for sharing. I am almost finished a moleskine sketchbook and looking at what to get next. Lovely work!! I will have to see what I can order in Canada 😊 ! Happy sketching.
New subscriber here...I have been researching watercolor sketchbooks and came across this video. I really appreciate the information about the recycling Strathmore uses with their product, I had no idea...I'll be going with them now, for sure. I enjoyed watching you create both pages, I'll be watching more of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
Welcome to the channel! Thanks for visiting and subscribing. I'm so thrilled to hear that. I do hope you find the other videos here very helpful and informative. I'm currently working on another watercolor painting on a bigger sized Strathmore sketchbook. I'll be uploading that sometime next week.
Hello Ottery St. Chocolat! Thanks for joining my channel. I'm thrilled you found this space. Yes, Moleskine is expensive. But lately, Amazon has been selling it a tad cheaper. I'm not sure how long the price drop would last, though. Thanks for your nice words. You're so kind!
@@alexeemcnultyart6312 You're the sweetest! Thank you. And I love watching your channel too. Your Korean actor portraits are so spot on! I recognized them right away ... yup... I'm one Kdrama addict! haha

Aaaw... so sweet! Thank you Van Gogo. So nice of you to watch and leave me a comment. I appreciate that. It's my first time to use a sketchbook of this size so it was really hard for me. I'm used to painting large pieces so this space was limiting and something I need to practice on more. I'm glad my sentiments didn't reflect on the actual work, though. Thanks for visiting my channel. Hope you can stay too! Take care and God bless you :D

@@GingerUmali Thank you so much for your kind reply, I will try to check out the devotional blog, it is always good to be refreshed in times with the Lord. My husband and I start every morning with coffee and a Charles Spurgeon devotional that I love. I am so sorry hear that you are having all that construction around you, especially losing pretty trees and flowers...😢. Sometimes my husband gets nervous because we live surrounded by so much forest and are in another bad drought year. Our town is 42. Square miles with 1,100.00 residents spread out over all that mileage, if we get a fire it could get tough. Right now in different parts of the country fires are being set on purpose in protest, can you imagine? @@vangogo6819 Oh yes, I do know of the wildfires. The ones in Oregon and California are so bad that the air quality here in Vancouver has been affected for days now. We wear masks, not because of covid, but because of the thick smog. It's so thick in fact, that you can't see the horizon anymore. The trees are covered with haze like the fog of winter. And we can stare at the sun because it looks like a red disk. Wow, I read Spurgeon as well. I love Max Lucado's devotionals and Chuck Swindoll's. Thank you. I have tried so many different sketchbooks for painting with watercolor and gouache. I thought Moleskin would be the best because of it's reputation but I found that a I really liked Strathmore. The problem with th e paper curling when it got damp was very surprising to me with Moleskin.
I'm so glad you watched! Thank you. I agree with you. I also thought initially that I'll love Moleskine more because it seemed to me like every artist I know uses it. But now, I have a lot more Strathmore sketchbooks at home. I find that I grab it more often than any other sketchbook I have, including Canson and Stillman & Birn, and other lesser known brands.
Oh, thanks for the heads up about the Moleskine spine breaking down. It hasn't happened to me yet. But then again, I like my Strathmore too, more than the Moleskine. Thanks for watching. I hope you drop by again and check out the other videos in this channel.

@@Manara111111 I think I get what you mean. Maybe the stitching came undone. A good sketchbook should be able to withstand abuse. Even if we stretch it, drop it, overwater it, or pull it by accident, it should keep its shape. So far, Strathmore does this for me. Mine is still in pretty good shape.
It’s always a treat watching you work on your creations. All so beautiful!

It's a very common issue with the Moleskine spines. So are curling, buckling and uneven washes because of uneven sizing distribution.
