This track was my teenage life. Whenever I'd be doing something awesome, or especially doing paintball/lazer tag etc I would be humming the opening riff and my mates all knew the reference xD
Nostalgia is crazy with this one!. I played the original and this on the first computer I ever owned.. I also had Doom one and two, Duke Nukem, All the Age of Empires, Asheron's Call, StarCraft and even the original Wolfenstein!. These are the games I enjoyed playing while growing up and miss them all dearly!.. Sure today's games are amazing as far as graphics but I swear those older games are definitely harder to beat.. Thanks for the upload and for helping me remember how great I really had it at the time!. 🙏🙏🍻
didn't get to hear this till i was 11, a year ago, but i have been playing my dad's copy since i was 4 or so, but we never had the disk in, so i always assumed Quake 2 was an action horror game.
00:54 if you listen carefully it sounds like there is someone speaking in the background but I can't understand anything they're saying. They speak for a little bit until around 01:25 - does anyone know what he is saying?
This is a great example of an industrial metal soundtrack. Unlike that misunderstanding from the new Doom. I've never understood why Mick Gordon's soundtrack is praised. Saying how exciting and metal it is! I would like to ask the people who praise him. Have you ever heard metal? Is it good metal? Because there is no metal there. Guitar and drums are not expressed there. And this is the basis. This is stupidly boring electronic stuff. Good examples of excellent metal soundtrack in games are the soundtracks for Quake 2 and Painkiller. Compared to which the Mickey Gordon soundtrack just sucks. Yes, one theme from the Doom 3 menu is cooler than the entire soundtrack from the Mick Gordon soundtrack.
I think this song just perfectly encapsulates the feel of 90s fps games. just so damn good
