He is an iconic singer-songwriter with many touching songs. I am lucky to have seen him perform live some years ago. One of the best concerts I have been to.
I don't believe the person is dead. He only said the love was dead. He repeats a few times that the woman is telling him she was going to leave him. It's about a break up.
Nancy was my beautiful wife who died of dementia. Her ebony hair did drape around a pillow case. She told me I would have to live w/out her during the years she was stricken. I cannot sing this song in a karaoke bar w/out breaking out in tears.
@@reactionswitherin5504 thank you. You must be a hospice nurse. Lovely ladies they are, my wife grew so fond of them. Thru it all she never lost her cognitive ability. She knew my name til the night she took her last breath embracing me, kissing me good bye. She died in me arms and in her own bed. True story, no romantic fairytale. BTW that nurse she loved so dearly was named Erin
@@nancyrickabus1017 Oh my goodness, that is so cool her nurse’s name is also Erin! While I would love to be tough enough to be a hospice nurse, I am not sure I have it in me. I am an assisted living geriatric nurse. I love it! 😊
