- The year just started and we are already off to a START. Join me in a week of my life in ATL as I navigate dating life, sharing my worst date thus far, some things I've learned about dating, as I'm getting ready for a date. I'm also taking you along with me as the hunt for furniture continues, spending the weekend with my mom (y'alls fav!), and trying new things to do in ATL, from entertainment to restaurants!

I never got the mentality that coffee dates are bad! They’re chill, if there’s no spark then you both just leave after one coffee, if it’s good then it can turn to museum or book store or whatever! Nothing worse than realising you’re not vibing the person before you even get the appetisers, or after you’ve spent hours getting ready to go to a boujie bar for drinks. Plus I think men think bar dates are more likely to lead to soemthing, but coffee dates always seemed so much more innocent. And on top of all that, I think it’s a flex that a man doesn’t need Dutch courage to be on the date, just seeing them sober and in the light of day - they can’t hide their personality as easy! Red flags are clearer in the daylight.

I just finished a book called Their Vicious Games by Joelle Wellington, saw it got book of the year, she's a black female writer and the book is about a bougie black teen thrown into the vicious world of the super elite but it's a thriller. It was such a cute read with an unexpected end. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thought you'd love it as much as I did. it was a cozy read for sure

How old is your Mom? I’m 57 and she and I think alike. I love your ballet slippers, but they were giving Isotoner vibes. And she’s right about the wine. It’s definitely an acquired taste. And how do you not know about Isotoner house slippers?? The two of you are so adorable! Y’all remind me so much of me and my Mom. She was my She BEST FRIEND and my favorite in 2022, but she was my best shopping buddy!

I think the constant/frequent heat styling and straightening of your hair is what’s contributing to your hair feeling dry and lifeless. It might not be the cause but I know it’s definitely not helping. I think it would be best to stay away from straightening for a good period of time just so that you can get used to styling your outfits with your natural hair again. I understand that some hairstyles don’t necessarily look the best with certain pieces but it would be in benefit of your hair health if you tried different ways of styling your natural hair rather than running straight to straightening it. Xx

Ugh I'm 31 but even in my 20's I was a strong advocate of no coffee dates unless it's a cute vibey cafe with cute pastries, but even then still not a good look for a first date. Like I gotta put in the time to get ready, and put on clothes for a coffee? I'm sorry my makeup costs way too much for that🫠
