I enjoyed how informative the video was. But not the treatment of the snakes. They were really stressed out.

How do you tell if your python is stressed out im a new owner

    • @raven6565

@@paytonperkins6407 Pay close attention to how the snakes in the video are acting. Their tense body posture and how they recoil when touched. They also cringe away from contact.
Other ways are if your snake feels threatened they'll puff up their bodies to seem bigger and more threatening, they can use their body to push your hands away, or they'll be in an s-curving position. If they are stressed they pass up on meals. Though that last one isn't the best indication as ball pythons are known to be picky eaters. If you'd like I can send you another link on how to tell if your snakes are stressed. I hope I helped some.

That's great info - my ball python was sold to me as a Platinum Lesser from a local pet shop - I've never heard that term before so I'm guessing she's just a single gene lesser. Beautiful snake none the less.
    See you at Tinley!

Who can I reach out to to find out what type of morph my son's ball python is? We keep finding close comparisons but nothing that sticks out completely.

First snake is a Mojave. Lessers are almost always more reduced pattern-wise, and have less contrast than Mojaves. That must be why they're called Lessers because they have less of these features.
I like some of the new genes you showed as combos. I'm really interested in some of the markers to identify certain genes in snakes. I think that is something very useful for people who will be having their own clutches one day. There are alot more of them than are usually explained in most videos. Most people only talk about Pied markers, but there are lots of distinctive head stamps that indicate certain genes, as well as other markers on the belly, back, and sides, even the nose, for other morphs. Would love to see some more in-depth stuff about those.
I have been dying to know how you can tell a het Sunset from a 50% and 66% het. I see some poss hets on Morph Market and they are sold at much more affordable prices than 100% hets. I know there are a few people who are pretty good at identifying them but have yet to see anyone explain how and what to look for. I would buy into that gene if I could find one that is likely to prove out at a price I can afford, as I love how they look, especially mixed with Enchi, Cinnamon, and some other genes that intensify their coloring even more!

I think that I had no idea that pythons could look like this. I've never been a snake or reptile owner UNTIL about a week ago I noticed my cats having some fun with something in the the driveway. That something was as far as I can tell, a Burmese Python. I live in the very upper North West corner of Alabama so I was surprised to see this type of snake out in my front yard. I'm not exactly sure where he came from. He's a little guy. Maybe 9" long and kinda skinny. I'm not exactly sure of what to do with him. Any advice would be great.

Hey Jesse, I'm really digging these videos. I've been into snakes since my mom helped catch me a speckled king when I was 4. But I've been studying bll pythons for it seems like like 19 years now. But I love these videos you're doing. It's helpful to know what some of these snakes look like once they get a few other genes. I remember when there weren't but maybe a ghosts, pieds, and albino. And so to see all this, I still learn new stuff. The game ain't what it used to be.
