As painful as it is to watch, I appreciate you sharing the story of the stray dogs. It's a real issue here in the southern states. Shelters are overwhelmed and there are always more dogs to replace the ones that get adopted. What the woman said on the phone is absolutely true, saving any of them wouldn't be possible without people like you who see the issue, care, AND ACT. Even the smallest acts matter. Thank you.
For future reference, there are a couple people very much involved in rescuing dogs as well as other animals too. One is Emotional Rescue, LLC out of Hastings Montana, and the other is the Asher House, Ran by Lee Asher, I believe out of Estacada Oregon. He also can be found on UA-cam. Maria that's the sweetest thing u good possibly do is save the strays I've always adopted all my pets from my local shelter I'm so glad to see that there are real caring people still for strays cause there original owners just left em keep up the great work and the awesome videos 😊

Totally agree. She has/helps an organization CamperCares (named after her own stray dog Camper), helping strays and people who struggle to pay the vet bills. Maybe she has addresses or knows people who can help in the place or the neighborhood you are now.

This breaks my heart. I've been in very similar circumstances to the one you were in with the stray pups. It's amazing when we can save them and devastating when we can't. The efforts, kindness and love you gave them, just for a few hours, makes all the difference. I hope they''re okay... Wherever they are. I would have been bawling about the dogs too. I have such a huge heart for animals and my car would be full if I didn't already have a fur baby in the car. You made the right choice for Blue, even though it was gut wrenching. I really hope that help comes through that you may have found!!
Thank you so much for doing everything that you possibly could for those dogs! I lived in CHINLE Arizona for three years and I rescued as much dogs as I could. I have never seen so many homeless and miss treated animals in my life. Being there was a tremendous amount of heartache, due to all the strays. I tried and tried and tried to find someone to help me, and the answer was always no maybe with you having a platform you could get somewhere which would be a godsend! Mad respect!

Right there with you Maria. It's heartbreaking. I had to figure out what to do with a dumped puppy here in my small town. It wasn't about to leave my side, was trained and I so wanted to keep him but couldn't as I live in a no pets complex. He was adopted through a local dog rescue within 48 hours of him finding me. Unfortunately they only take dogs. I'm trying to figure out what to do with domesticated kittens or cats that seem to find me. Still working on that, but am stocked with litter, a litter box and cat food now. So hopefully will be able to do more than just feed and water before I can find a placement for them. God bless you for your kindness and willingness to be part of the solution for these unfortunate fur babies.
My Aussie had a hard time digesting protein which caused her to throw up the same as Blue. Put her on Z/D Ultra from Hills Science Diet. You do need a prescription. It supposedly breaks down the protein as it’s made. Did it work? YES!
I would have cried too when having to leave to those poor dogs. I've always picked up lost dogs and tried to save them. Maria don't take this wrong but I saw the dog food you had and I Know it's been on several recalls. I hate to hear Blue has been to throwing up. Are you weaning him onto new food? There's a very good website that rates dog food and alerts on dog food recalls and even tells if the food makes your dog sick. Just Google dog food recalls or safest dog food. I hope this helps. It's got to be hard when you travel to get the same food in different states. Looks like you are well stocked on really healthy foods!
I hope you can save some pups in the future. It sucks that people just dump pets when they don’t want them. We took in some stray cats to help them even though we aren’t cat people. On a sad note one of the cats we’ve had for 4 years just out of nowhere laid down and died today. It took us awhile to find here because she found a good hiding place in the house. We tried to help her and save her. Her sister is still with as and she is just lost without her.
Re axle leak: when the seals leak, it's time for an axle rebuild. The grease in there is seled for life and if you overfil it then you force more out or past the internal seal to the diff. I suspect it's also a bearing collapse in the swivel housing, so will need a replacement which is a rebuild. Only use Corteco seals and it needs to be set up correctly or you'll do more damage or it'll get shake when driving. also turn the steering full over to whatever side you're filling as it then clears the swivel ball and fills easier. You might not be able to save all the puppies, but you can try! 🙂
Well, this has to be one of the most heartbreaking videos I've ever seen on your channel😭 momma may have had more pups away from the gas station and maybe the next day she was there feeding them since she herself got some nutrition and water. Other than sleeping in the parking lot, I don't know what more you could of done for them that night and I know your heart was breaking, driving away. That ache stays with you too😞 I hope it spurs you to do big things, using your platform to help strays. And on a side note, if the pup had parvo or either had anything communicable, it would've been on your clothes and skin as you got in Poe and they could've infected Blue. I know what a super A-hole sad part he probably meant it😢most people are cruel and many r to animals poor dogs like that have been dropped of to fend for their selves and they can’t those dogs was so hungry and thirsty for water And in Hot Arizona where they desperately need water.. people can be so cruel to animals that it’s sickening poor innocent dogs😢
Our dog was vomiting a lot so we were told to raise his food bowl off the floor. It’s something to do with his digestive system. Our dog no longer vomits. Lift his bowl off the ground it will help.
Don't be heart broken. You did what you could and that's more than more than half of the US would have done for them. You gave them food, and water, and they are good to go for a couple more days. (Just think on the brighter side, maybe they got adopted as soon as you drove off by some random stranger instead of thinking what could happen to them after you leave, or the next few days). Dogs ain't like humans, they can find food if need be.
I guess it’s how everybody is raised and where they are raised that you loved the mountains and the deserts so much But I was raised on the Gulf of Mexico all my life and that’s what I prefer! I literally can’t get it into my head how anybody would want to walk through the mountains or desert and go hiking like….what???? You people have absolutely zero fear factor it is amazing!!!! If I was to go up north and walk around in all these woods, I wouldn’t be able to walk because I would be loaded down with hairspray and a rifle and every other thing imaginable lol!!!!! That’s why if and when I ever do a van trip, it will be all on the coasts of each state!!!!!!

I’ve noticed on a number of portable fridges it’s how you pack your goods and how it cools certain items. In my experience pack denser bottled goods (condiments etc) towards the bottom along with meats and put your veg and eggs towards the lid because it will usually be cooler almost freezing towards the bottom. Maybe that helps your frozen veggies or not and you may already be packing it like that. Just a thought.
Being a dog lover, it broke my heart to see those three dogs abandoned. The only thing worse was the guy saying you could shoot them. What an evil thing to say. I truly hope things work out for those three pups. You are a good person, Maria. Kudos to you.
I hope the person you talked to was from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Ut. Its a huge area that takes all animals, including horses. The area you were in was on an Indigenous reservation where animals do run free. Thank you for sticking up for those dogs against that mean guy, I would of said a lot more!! I think you should do a vid on the Best Friends Sanctuary in Kanab, they take volunteers daily. I volunteered with the cats area and it was so nice. Yes you clean there area but you get to play and spend time and love on these animals. You will love it and so will they. I will be in Utah again in June maybe I will run into someplace. Be safe.

Man I could feel your anguish about the dogs. We have tried rescuing so many cats on our travels. Got feral ones TNRed, and friendly ones to rescues. We did end up getting both our cats sick with an upper respiratory infection from one of the cats we were rescuing. We have a fifth wheel, and that cats that we try and save stay in the bathroom away from ours. We disinfect after they leave, but it clearly wasn’t enough.l that one time. An URI isn’t a huge deal (just a cold for cats), but still made us feel like crap. I totally understand you not wanting to risk Blue’s health; we decided if we couldn’t get to a rescue right away, that we’d have to wait on rescuing a cat, because bringing them indoors isn’t worth risking ours. ❤❤ Can’t wait to see what your plans are!

That’s awesome you want to save the dogs! You could get a cage and trailer hitch attachment that is normal used for wheelchairs and bikes, and I closed so the dogs stay safe, and you could transport the pups the short distance you would need to foot get them to safety.
Maybe carry some flea and tick spray incase, atleast if you can't take em you can help by increasing the chance the next person will. Stay safe 🙏 hiking with Blue was a bit scary for me. He is so smart Beautiful dog. Lots of strays out here. I tried to help but animal control will put em down.

I had to use purina HA hydrolyzed protein. Same thing.....its broken down so small that the body cant react to it. Was a lifesaver for us!

I suspect it's also a bearing collapse in the swivel housing, so will need a replacement which is a rebuild. Only use Corteco seals and it needs to be set up correctly or you'll do more damage or it'll get shake when driving. also turn the steering full over to whatever side you're filling as it then clears the swivel ball and fills easier.
You might not be able to save all the puppies, but you can try! 🙂
Well, this has to be one of the most heartbreaking videos I've ever seen on your channel😭 momma may have had more pups away from the gas station and maybe the next day she was there feeding them since she herself got some nutrition and water. Other than sleeping in the parking lot, I don't know what more you could of done for them that night and I know your heart was breaking, driving away. That ache stays with you too😞 I hope it spurs you to do big things, using your platform to help strays. And on a side note, if the pup had parvo or either had anything communicable, it would've been on your clothes and skin as you got in Poe and they could've infected Blue. Our dog was vomiting a lot so we were told to raise his food bowl off the floor. It’s something to do with his digestive system. Our dog no longer vomits. Lift his bowl off the ground it will help.

Don't be heart broken. You did what you could and that's more than more than half of the US would have done for them. You gave them food, and water, and they are good to go for a couple more days. (Just think on the brighter side, maybe they got adopted as soon as you drove off by some random stranger instead of thinking what could happen to them after you leave, or the next few days). Dogs ain't like humans, they can find food if need be.

I guess it’s how everybody is raised and where they are raised that you loved the mountains and the deserts so much But I was raised on the Gulf of Mexico all my life and that’s what I prefer! I literally can’t get it into my head how anybody would want to walk through the mountains or desert and go hiking like….what???? You people have absolutely zero fear factor it is amazing!!!! If I was to go up north and walk around in all these woods, I wouldn’t be able to walk because I would be loaded down with hairspray and a rifle and every other thing imaginable lol!!!!! That’s why if and when I ever do a van trip, it will be all on the coasts of each state!!!!!!

I’ve noticed on a number of portable fridges it’s how you pack your goods and how it cools certain items. In my experience pack denser bottled goods (condiments etc) towards the bottom along with meats and put your veg and eggs towards the lid because it will usually be cooler almost freezing towards the bottom. Maybe that helps your frozen veggies or not and you may already be packing it like that. Just a thought.

I hope the person you talked to was from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Ut. Its a huge area that takes all animals, including horses. The area you were in was on an Indigenous reservation where animals do run free. Thank you for sticking up for those dogs against that mean guy, I would of said a lot more!! I think you should do a vid on the Best Friends Sanctuary in Kanab, they take volunteers daily. I volunteered with the cats area and it was so nice. Yes you clean there area but you get to play and spend time and love on these animals. You will love it and so will they. I will be in Utah again in June maybe I will run into someplace. Be safe.

Man I could feel your anguish about the dogs. We have tried rescuing so many cats on our travels. Got feral ones TNRed, and friendly ones to rescues. We did end up getting both our cats sick with an upper respiratory infection from one of the cats we were rescuing. We have a fifth wheel, and that cats that we try and save stay in the bathroom away from ours. We disinfect after they leave, but it clearly wasn’t enough.l that one time. An URI isn’t a huge deal (just a cold for cats), but still made us feel like crap. I totally understand you not wanting to risk Blue’s health; we decided if we couldn’t get to a rescue right away, that we’d have to wait on rescuing a cat, because bringing them indoors isn’t worth risking ours. ❤❤

That’s awesome you want to save the dogs! You could get a cage and trailer hitch attachment that is normal used for wheelchairs and bikes, and I closed so the dogs stay safe, and you could transport the pups the short distance you would need to foot get them to safety.
