Great video! Please continue the series. I’ll add that the Mutable Instruments Marbles (& copies) is a great “composer” of generative music of many genres. Add a Befaco VCMC and control MIDI/DAW instruments.

Thanks very much. I won't be continuing or do any more generative videos for a while....but agree Marbles is a great module and pairs well with the Matriarch. I did start a video a while back about DAW control...perhaps I'll finish that one off. I don't have a Befaco VCMC but use Expert Sleepers FH-2 and sometimes for more complicated patches ES-6. I'll check out the Befaco.

A new Matriarch patch tutorial by robe music is a little bit like the morning after Christmas - getting up somewhat early because of the excitement, grabbing a coffee and sitting in front of the Moog synth in my bathrobe I enjoy that delightful inspiration. So I totally get the robe part of your channel. Thanks, mate!
Personally, I'm more into patches without additional gear as there is so much to learn for me on the Matriarch itself. So I'm grateful you did both - first patch without and second patch with outboard gadgetry. Completely happy with the mesmerizing soundscape and fooling around with all those neat tricks you applied to create patch 1. In the end from 11:00 it almost sounds like one of those sophisticated granular fx was added to the chain. Awesome…
BTW, I think that the additional VCO pulse wave generated by the sequencer clock is tuned to a low Bb, not an F at 5:05 - which makes some the intervals you later play on top (thinking F major) in fact upper structure harmony (in Bb major) and that turns out so hauntingly beautiful. And couldn't that also just be the thing that happened when jazz was invented by accident way back when?

Hey man, I recently did an oscillator calibration of my matriarch... but when it finished, osc 1 was completely not making any sound. I don't know what to do now, any suggestion/help? thanks...

Make sure all oscillators are in audio range (once that happened to me and I was freaking out…until I realized one of the oscillators was just out of audio range) put keyboard into unison mode and play a middle C. If that doesn’t work try re calibrating….if that doesn’t work contact moog.

@@RobeMusic thanks for the answer! What do you mean when you say audio range? Are you reffereing to the mixer knobs?

@@RobeMusic just the osc 1 is not working even if the pot is set at 12, don't know what to do

Audio range just means human hearing range....the oscillators on the matriarch can below and above human hearing...so if it's too high or low you won't hear it. sometimes that can happen if you inadvertently play (or sequence, or arpeggiate) a high or low note.

if unison mode and hitting a middle C doesn't work (and all other oscillators are playing)..and you've tried re-calibrating, then you should email moog support. they're usually pretty quick to respond.
