A few years back I went into a pawnshop. Amongst the many crappy, dusty low grade guitars I see a Japanese ESP Eclipse. Price tag said $400. Clearly they thought it was an LTD Eclipse. Immediately grabbed it and brought it to the counter. I offered him $350 cash out the door. He agreed on the price. Then he said, hold on, I think there’s a case with it. Then he brings out an ESP hard case to go with it. Brought it home and played and sounded incredible. It was a good day lol

I rescued a Ltd V with Floyd and EMGs for $320 at a pawn shop. Only had a tiny chip in the point of the headstock and no other cosmetic damage. Came with fitted branded hard case. Dropped Seymore Duncan Blackouts in it. Love it.

Dang, $50? That was a steal, even if it was a little beat up. I bought mine from Guitar Center in 2012 for $500.

Funny, I bought an epiphone Les Paul special 1 for $50 at guitar center because the neck was stripped from the body. Nothing a few toothpicks couldn’t fix, plays JUST FINE now. 😊

For $50 what makes that a electric guitar desired to own at a higher amount with chunk bite marks taken from that instrument in lew of food? Poor taste?

I remember when the Superstrat concept hit and everyone started in on the Kramers, Ibanez, Jackson and Charvels. Shops were littered with MIJ Strats.

I'll never understand why people pay out hundreds of dollars and thousands of dollars for a guitar and then throw it around and beat it up. I just don't get it I'm at guitars for 10 years then I took out and played and it wasn't a scratch on it so away with everything I own I take care of it I don't get why people do that especially if you're a musician I don't even want other people touching my guitars

Unless that guitar was bought 30 years ago finding a pawnshop without internet in 2024 is very unlikely most pawnshop prices on guitars are more then they are used an a music store these days . If you did great find as rare as a unicorn 🦄 these days

Got my Ibanez at a pawn shop. Somebody had the floating trem(Floyd rose 1000 style) all out of whack. It was sunken into the body, lol. I cleaned it, adjusted the truss rod, put new strings on it, and got the springs on the Floyd adjusted, and it's a screamer. I love finding deals at pawn shops

I think this one needed to be repaired before they could put it out for sale, they likely knew the electronics weren't working. They probably just wanted to get rid of it without bothering to have it fixed.
