"La La Land" is a testament to what filmmaking should be and what is truly is at heart. It is a tribute to the poise and elegance to Old Hollywood and a dream and hope to the future. Very few words can truly sum up this film, but Timeless, Elegant, Emotional and Hopeful are the best that come to mind.

Finally a traditional movie with traditional music and repeated melodies that just beautifully haunt you! This finale reminds me of the scores from 'UP' and 'ET'. Music in this company can make tears! Many current filmmakers and composers need to learn tremendously from La La Land!
The entire movie was fabulous, the dancing, the music. Especially when they meet at the end they look at each other, and he plays that song ! Then they get one last glance at each other as she is walking out the door. Love this movie!!!!!

The best part of the film is how Chazelle keeps the camera on Emma Stone, framing her in such tight close-ups. And what does the actress do? Well, she runs away with it. She so very wisely lets a myriad of emotions play across her face, unguarded and honest.
Her second Oscar nomination is in the bag.

@BAO NGUYEN Because he wrote it to feel some sort of cultured and intelligent, and it comes off incredibly pretentious. "So very wisely" - no one talks like that. It's like he's trying to write prose. Blech.
