It was wonderful to see your projects Mary. There are times when I could hear your Scottish accent. I love accents❣️. I shall watch all your episodes throughout the week. I started in mid 80's, teaching myself through library books, stopped I would say 2000's. Returned when I stumbled on Flosstube about four years ago. Wow how the cross stitch world had changed!! I don't know if it was because it was American mainly. I'm in Norfolk, England. I thought this was a great video and I look forward to watching the following ones🤗
it's June 29th, I just found your channel. I have subscribed and intend to catch up by binge watching. Your work is beautiful, your Celtic ladies are awesome. The other large projects are just fantastic and the patience it must have taken. Just WOW 😲😳. Getting ready to watch #2. Thank you for sharing all your hard work with us. I too have a thing for houses, infact I am getting ready to form a town, or try to. LoL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A wonderful first video! Loved seeing your FO’s…they are all beautiful..the tiger is spectacular! Will be looking forward to seeing your next video…happy stitching!
Thank you so much, Susan! It was scary for sure but so fun getting to know some other stitchers. I do need to start saving to get some of the bigger finishes framed. The smaller ones I need to learn to do myself. That is one of my goals for 2022. Thanks for watching and commenting! 💕
Welcome Mary! Just Beautiful work you do. I’m a beginner. I’m sure you are already following her and being from Utah. But Lori Holt has all the information where to go for framing there in Utah. Can’t wait to see more of your work. 😊🌺
I mostly use AIDA and DMC floss, and I adore Dimensions!! I've done a great many of their kits over the years, mainly as gifts. I do cats, garden gates and faeries, but I think I'm going to look for the Celtic pieces you showed. I'd love to do them!
Hi Kat! I love the dimensions kits. They have some beautiful ones. After I finish Victorian Charm, I plan on starting Balloon Glow which is a dimensions gold kit. It’s the one with the hot air balloons that you may have seen. I know some people don’t like kits but I have no issues with them, unless I run out of floss, which has happened a few times! The Celtic ladies from lavender and lace are just beautiful. I hope you give one a try, I think you’d enjoy them. Have a great day! 💕
Hi Mary. This is me from the future checking out how you got started. I love your projects! All those full coverage and the L&Ls! Brilliant!! Off to #2 now. Steph
Hello from a fellow Scottish stitcher. Great first flosstube. I actually came across your third one first and as I was watching I thought I heard a Scottish twang so stopped that one and started watching this one to see if you said you were Scottish and you are, lol! Loved seeing all your projects and I’m like you, I love stitching things with houses
Hello Lisa! Over the last 30 years my accent has faded a lot…sadly. Though my family tells me it comes back strong when I talk to someone back home! 😂 where in Scotland are you? I grew up in Glasgow. Thanks so much for watching! 💕
I enjoyed your video. I, too, came back to cross stitch last September after 20ish years. Flosstube just popped up on my feed one day and I've been hooked since. Yes, things certainly changed during my hiatus! Thankfully, I had kept my stash. I have that Dimensions Snow Leopard in my stash, though I think mine came with aida. You have beautiful projects and FOs. Looking forward to more from you. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you found my channel and I hope you keep coming back. The snow leopard was a challenge to stitch for sure but turned out so beautiful. I really need to frame it. I hope you will stitch yours one day. I think that’s the only Dimensions kit I’ve seen that came with linen. It’s amazing how much the stitching world has changed and amazing how quickly I got caught up in it all! 😂 Thanks so much for your comment and have a great day! 💕
You have a lot of nice work there with some pretty big finishes. I have a Dimensions Gold that I'm working on right now called In Her Garden. My family and I are originally from Utah and we still have family there that we visit. We are in NM now. That White Tiger is beautiful.
Thank you heden. I have seen that one that you are stitching and it is beautiful. That’s fun that you are originally from Utah…what part? I have never been to NM but hope too. We almost made it on our spring RV trip last year but it ended up not working out. Hopefully soon. 💕
@@marysstitchingcorner8050 We lived in the Salt Lake City area. You should really make it here (NM) for the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta that happens in October. It's a fun time.
Hi Mary! Great first video! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I found you from a shout out from Mary of Daydream Stitcher! Your WIP’s and FO’s are delightful! I too am a stitcher from the 80’s and have so many projects I still want to stitch! I think I have 20 or so WIP’s, at least right now! There are just so many beautiful designs, I am also Scottish on my father’s side, but do not not too much about my ancestry on that side. Our last name is Douglass. He was working on a family tree before he passed away 11 years ago, but somehow it was lost and has never been found! I would like to do some research. I knew he had a brother named Dave and a sister named Eleanor, and was raised by adopted parents. I so wish he was still here. I have so many questions now that I am in my 60’’s. Anyway, I digress! I am looking forward to watching all your videos. I, too, love Charles Wysocki and have several of his prints that I have collected. I have one framed and two that are not. I believe one is of lighthouses I had bought for a friend who has since passed. If you are interested in it, let me know. I can send a pic. I feel like we are kindred spirits. It’s nice to be able to share with people I meet on Flosstube. I am so thankful for it and all the wonderful people who share what they love! I don’t know if you watch The Highway Stitcher on FT. She is from Utah as well! Anyway, Happy Stitching!!
Hello Patricia! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. It is so hard to keep WIP’s under control when there are so many lovely things to stitch! It’s definitely hard when we lose the older generation and we have so many questions. Even though I was born and raised in Scotland, my ancestry is almost all Irish. I have worked on my genealogy over the years and I’m just stuck now. Thanks for watching and for commenting. Are you on Instagram? 💕
Hi again, Mary! I also love patterns with houses on them, ☺️ You are introducing me to so many cute new patterns, thank you. I enjoyed hearing about your “international” family, too. That’s special and beautiful. Thanks for making these great videos! Meline
Hi Mary! This was a wonderful intro and I’m happy to subscribe to your channel. You have great taste in projects and showed some really gorgeous finishes. I will be back soon to watch the rest of your updates! Happy stitching!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments! It was a scary thing to put myself out there and even more so since I’m naturally quite shy, but everyone has been so nice. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Thank you! 💕
Lovely first time floss tube I was very like you I cross stitched years ago chart packs then came back to it and it was a whole new craft and language lol 😆 Well done x
I just found you on Instagram and just watched your first flosstube video. I enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful stitching. I will be trying to catch up to your latest flosstube videos. Great to have found you!
Hello! Just found your flosstube and absolutely enjoyed it! Started to watch your other videos and looking forward for a new ones! I just started my own flosstube a month ago, this community is amazing!
Hi Mary..I really enjoyed your completed projects from Yesteryear!..I love seeing people who have been at this for about as long as I have!...before I started watching these videos I had begun to think that I was alone out here but more people seem to be appearing all the time so I'm hoping that xstitch will never die out. You did a great job and I hope you can continue on with more..I've always been a huge fan of the L&L and MIRABILIAs...I completed 6 of the L&L years ago but always had to put them down from time to time as they just overwhelmed me sometimes. We're you able to do yours all at once? I LOVE the Celtics but I've never even bought the designs...they are daunting to think of !
Hi Cindy, Thanks so much for watching. The L&L I did over a space of a few years. For a while that was mostly what I stitched. I find that they look more daunting than they actually are. I want to start another Celtic lady. Maybe do it as a Sunday stitch. They are so pretty when they are done. Maybe try one…just take one stitch at a time. I may do Celtic winter next. Thanks again! 💕
Exactly...Wow!Gorgeous work. Do not apologize for any of it. I am just a beginner and your stitching seems quite incredible. When you said the triple Halloween houses were easy I gasped. I am working on the autumn trio in that same line and found them fairly hard. So there you are Mary. Keep on stitching . Thank you for showing your work and please continue your floss tube.
Thank you Ruth! I think the Halloween houses felt easy as they are so much smaller than my usual projects. I am enjoying doing some smaller projects in between the bigger ones. I’m excited for you as a new stitcher…just enjoy the journey. It’s such a wonderful hobby. I spent Saturday stitching a few of my projects and ended up having to unpick a ton of it…some days are like that. I haven’t seen the autumn trio that you are working on, I’ll have to check them out. I love fall and fall colors. Thanks for watching and for commenting. I hope to have another video up within the week. 💕
