Not sure if you have tried this again
but same size and thickness for the magnets (and I guess strength) . And on the second part hold it a lot longer to get the circle.

I have these born pretty cat eye gels and I do the same as what you do then I cheat and cure them. Then I put another layer on top and use the circle magnet in the middle only to perfect the circle illusion. Xxx

If you ever decide to try these again, try angling the magnets when you push from the top & bottom. Like you angled the magnets up from below the nail when pushing in from the sides, but angle them down from above the nail when pushing top to bottom. If that makes sense. It took me about a thousand tries to get it right and to no real purpose, since I'm not a nail tech, I only do my own nails, and there isn't a snowball's chance in hell I would ever be able to do this on myself😅 I am gonna try to make decals next, though...

I have been obsessed with magnets nail polish lately! I just did a starry white one over a black gel and on top I stamped with black! Came out so beautiful but I am still struggling with the magnets. The effect you kept getting is what I want! But I gotta figure out how to hold two magnets on my own nail lol thank you for making this video!!

I’ve used magnetics before with much success, but not the black hole success. It is pretty frustrating for sure! I’m nearly convinced to re-do them in the morning. I got a bit wore down after no success, but after watching you tonight, I feel like a real wuss!!!

Yep I think it’s only the US that does it like m/d/y. This girl I use to be friends with who I grew up with called me stupid bcuz I tattooed a date on my ankle and it’s written m/d/y. She said it’s written wrong 🙄 she had made a friend who just moved over here from Europe and was all no lol I’ve never seen anyone write the date like that, I was like bitch we went to the same schools I know for a fact you’ve always wrote the date this way your whole life stop trying to make me look dumb to impress your rich friend (this was not the only instance where she tried to make an asshole out of me to impress this new friend bcuz he was very wealthy) I never wished I’d hung on to some dumb notes passed between one another in school just so I could prove it to her lol but we’d been out of school 10 years.

Although if their native language isn’t English I totally get how English is so confusing... especially when you get into the differences in how a word is spelled in the US vs Europe or Canada. Like with color/colour, gray/grey, canceled/cancelled & so on. Neither is wrong, they’re both right it’s just a slight difference from one country to the next & for anyone trying to learn English I wish you the best lol the language is kinda crazy. For example "’Mercedes" 3 e’s each one pronounced differently, what the hell? English is confusing even for most native English speakers, so when I say good luck I mean that shit from the bottom of my heart 💯

I was trying to achieve the seemingly impossible! But I will try again...once the trauma of failing passes 🤣
I did it twice! So what did I do differently? First part the same. Second bit large part of magnet attracting but instead of upright tilt the tops towards each other. As soon as halo appears in each side hold it there where enough can see it and then lift magnets directly up. Yes I did it twice in about 100 attempts! Last couple I did so decided I could do it hahahaha. Broke a magnet and need better polish. X

Ok one thing this gal noted was the magnetic holder you have, hers apparently are plastic, she used the blue gummy shit, and held hers down on the table with that stuff. She said the mags might not attract properly with other metals around distracting the metals in the polish. What I saw from her, was exactly as you did where the magnets attracted ea., from the sides. Then (not sure if this matters, she didn't say) turns the magnets facing down, and from the top and bottom, you slide the top, holding the bottom one in place at the bottom of color, but slowly push the top one down. Hold that one, and move the bottom one up slowly. OMG, it worked there was no start or stop at all on video, this chick bakes that, then does a second color inside that one, oh fuk me, lmfao!!!

I don't know if you've tried this again since. But, i was thinking... you mastered the magnets on the sides. What if you turned the nail tip so you could keep the magnets on the side (so to speak) instead of the top & bottom?
Have you tried angling the magnets slightly differently? Like tipping it upwards/downwards from the nail tip. That was the part I didn't quite get when i 1st started magnets. Once I realized the angle of the magnet mattered, it made all the difference for me.
I hope you have tried again or that you will & that you haven't completely given up on it

I seen someone take the round magnet under the nail to get the effect, but it was part of a pictorial not a video so I guess I don’t really know if that worked better or not but if you still have these around it might be worth a try 🤷🏻♀️ although it’s not like your not going to be able to take it under the nail if your painting it on a client 😂 I’ve had my eye on these same ones for a while now wondering how well they worked, I gave in recently and bought a couple from a different brand that are in bottles not pots. If they ever get here I’ll let you know if they work any better.

I am yet to try the black hole again. Still scarred 🤣. I think it only works with some cat eyes - not all of them are the right sort of 'D' (5D, 9D etc).

After doing what you are doing you put the round magnet in the middle.
I tried that, but the middle went blank and didn't have any of the cateye at certain angles like the black hole ones do. I am still scarred from this 😂
Maybe your magnets have to be the same like in size, thickness and strength?

I never thought I would see the day when I saw magnet porn, but this is ABSOLUTELY the video that I needed at almost 5am. 😂 My poor husband has to be up at 5:30am to work a 12 hour shift and I'm laying next to him cackling like a damn witch. Oh god, this is great. It's also nice to know that I'm not the only one struggling with cat eye gels and wanting to just burn everything down and roast marshmallows over the flames. 😂

lol i know it’s frustrating having grown up in the US because i don’t really inherently understand how to estimate metric visually and i instinctively write month/day/year lol. why do can’t we just conform to the rest of the worlds standard measurement system. it’s stupid not quirky that we decided to invent our own -___-
The imperial system was invented in Britain! We officially adopted the metric system - which was invented in France - in the 60s, but most people here can use both metric and imperial, as our parents learned what their parents knew, and we learned from our parents, but were taught something else, so both are used over here, though not in official capacities. It's just the U.S, Liberia, and Burma who don't use metric. It's sooo much easier than imperial!

Ive not tried this yet but maybe there is too much colour polish on there? If there is too much, the circle will be larger as the rest of the colour has nowhere to go, If that makes sense. 😆

If I can’t do something after a few tries i throw my toys out of my pram and have a tantrum about it. Put it away and more often than not it stays there 😂 I’m so impatient and expect I’ll be an expert at something right away. 🙈 I’ve mastered foils, stamping I’ll be working on more and then encapsulating dried flowers. Says the girl who can barely paint her nails neatly 😂
