This is when we come to moments of personal preference, isn't it? Personally, I appreciate them both but for different reasons. On Blade's Edge, it's frenetic and gets you pumped up. But, there is an underlying tension that never resolves. It gives me the sense of this never-ending fight or flight response. Finality is very similar in nature. It's chaotic and keeps you moving. However, as the song plays out, there are these moments of levity. Over time, the chorus relaxes. It holds onto the notes as it slides higher and lower. It gives off this feeling of catharsis as if I'm being told "You've been fighting for some time, haven't you? Just hang on for a little bit longer. It's almost over." From there, it ramps right back up and the cycle continues but there is this calm that remains while you are being flooded with adrenaline. The power of well-written music.
