Xavier, thank you for showcasing real Jamaicans through these interviews, they have solidified what I have always known, Jamaicans are phenomenal. In addition, a common thread in all these interviews is this: people are innately decent, kind, and good all over the world. Thanks again for this insightful and well deserved space. 🇯🇲🇨🇦💞
I loved the energy of the interviewees. Thank you for your transparency. We Jamaicans are so fearless and open. We will go anywhere. Blessings to you all.
I must say this episode is one of the best ones ever. The discussion was lively and my wife and I already thinking about planning a trip. I have two kids who are really into Korea and our son watched with us and he was really impressed. Keep them coming Xavier. We love that Michael, Joanne and Stefani all unmistakably Jamaican, so they didn't lose who they are. Love it! Blessings!

Of all the interviews I have watched the Korean interview was the one I thought I wouldn’t enjoy but don’t judge a book by its cover was fully borne out …I loved it ! loved it ! Would love to visit as a result.
You MUST….it’s truly worth visiting. The people are so so so kind…and that’s not just our experience. The bullet trains which cover the whole peninsula is affordable, and public transportation is excellent. Many many young people who went there to teach English have shared this (pre-covid) - you can check it out yourself. Highly recommend to travel to Korea.

This was amazing! My daughters & grandsons here in Virginia have gone totally Korean - watching the dramas, eating the food - so it was fascinating to hear about the food! However, one daughter had a bad reaction to the spa. The going from hot to cold made her forget her memory!
I'm planning to relocate to Korea and I'm glad I came across this video. It's great to get the Jamaican point of view on the country. Amazing interview.
I click on this video so fast because my baby girl is presently in Korea for school and I want to hear what it is like as she is only out of quarantine since yesterday and haven't seen the place much as yet.
Great interview! Michael was very animated. Loved how he imitated the Asian music. Lol! Thanks, Michael, Joanne and Stefani, for informing all of us about the Korean culture.
Thoughtful, engaging, entertaining and honest. The best thus far! I lived in Korea 3 years enjoyed it. Michael, Joann and Stefani were accurate and right on the money....From the gift giving, food, music, respect, lantern festivals, Korean work ethic, and their we vs me ideology etc.., Cultural immersion is just outside your doorstep! A wonderful balance of old and new... traditional culture and innovative, progressive technology. Wonderful people! Wonderful culture... Great Job!
I love this interview so much because I identified Stefani.... so happy for your growth and success. I'm from Linstead, so you know it's a connection .
I met a lot of Koreans when I was living in the Philippines...I was even invited to a wedding between a Korean and a Filipina...most of the Koreans in Philippines come to learn English among other things, Two of my neighbours were also Korean Restaurant owners. Unfortunately I didn´t get to visit Korea but liked Korean food which can be tasty and also spicy...That was an interesting interview...I bet many koreans were confused that Joanne was Jamaican....
Hi Richie…re: confusing me - well - many of them didn’t know where Jamaica was. So I eventually gave up and just said I was from Canada. They thought I was Korean - to the point where the older Koreans said I should “learn to speak Korean, since I look Korean.” But to the others who knew where Jamaica was, yes - they were confused and enlightened when I explained how the Chinese came to Jamaica.
This interview was very informative. I have learned a lot about Korea, to the extent that I want to visit the country to experience the culture for myself.
Miss June Plum - yu mus’ go if yu have the chance. It’s quite strange at first - seeing mostly ONE type of culture - all Koreans - and if you’re not “Asian looking” - you will be so obviously a minority. I clearly looked Korean - but Michael didn’t. And they loved to interact with him; and then I, when they realized we were both foreigners.

An outstanding interview. Just an fyi! The South Korean teens loved Michael Jackson. So, in 1997, he did a world tour and then SK exploded from there. Especially, with the sell of CD's introduction by mainstream, the vinyl records industry exploded in many countries like SK. Also, the fight to maintain their recording rights by many U.S. artists, because the entertainment industry was selling them out claiming contractural rights.. So, R&B, Jazz, etc. improved SK's presence internationally. There's also the presence of the U.S. military base and the young peoples desire to sing black soul, be-it Gospel to the now Rap music. I have found out via research that the SK's hire Americans to teach them how to sing Gospel, Jazz, teach them to dance and even dress.
Xavier, you hit a home run with this segment. Such lovely, engaging people. We are all good people underneath. Being Chinese / Canadian, could really relate to Joanne and Stephanie. My great grandfather landed in Canada, but it could have been Jamaica, too.

Another great fun, funny interview!! 👍🏾👍🏾❤❤❤❤ Looking forward to visiting South Korea in the near future. I love the South Koreans uniqueness, their traditional costumes, their history and the respect they have demonstrate especially respect towards elders when they meet or when their eating.. I'm a HUGE fan of Kdramas. Can't wait to try their street foods especially their sticky rice, the different noodles and their lettuce. I'm intrigued by the underground shopping that Michael mentioned. Joanne and Michael have a beautiful energy, their love is evident and fresh. All the best Stefani in your relationship. All the very best to ALL of you.
Great interview, great subjects. I think some of the negatives that have been formed about Koreans, may be those less than pleasant experiences that some of us may have had when we go into their businesses here in the USA. So I would say that maybe some of their people are not great ambassadors for their Country,. In Dallas there are a couple of Korean Spas, and I have been to one, and I concur that it is a very relaxing and enjoyable experience, and you can make a day of it. They do serve Korean food, but since Covid, I have not gone again. Yes......the nudity is a little awkward at first, but after about 5 mins all inhibitions are lost, because the warm water, and those hydro jets....are so relaxing you just forget about it. Top it off with facial and massage and it's a great getaway for the day without getting on a plane. Great interview.
this was great!! I love Korean food and Korean dramas. I really got into it for a while there. I love to listen to the language and the music. I stopped over in Korea on my way to Thailand and the airport is incredible. Also, really recommend Korean Air....excellent service.
