  • A 10 minute flight up the Fourteen Locks canal flight in Newport. The flight is also known as the Cefn flight. The 14 locks consist of five pairs of locks, one triple set of locks and one single lock. The locks rise the canal up 167ft in under half a mile.
At the top of the locks is the Fourteen Locks Canal Centre, the headquarters of the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust (MBACT).

Great recording and such a beautiful landscape. Highly recommend the Cafe. Just need Newport Council to put some effort into maintaining the land or sell it on if they don't have the resources or funds!

Lock eleven was probably a waiting area for canal boats to go past
