Hi John! Certainly a great variety there and quite a time line of air force history. The Neptune was one of the highlights for me as very rare in flying condition. UK has an immense collection of historical aircraft but whilst they are usually immaculate they are not flying and museum bound sadly due to money and/or regulatios. As you say wouldn't it be great if some of these were added to RIAT. Let's dream on!
Thanks PPS. The airshow wasn't great for photos or video as into the sun and and angled runway to the crowd line but I am sure you have experienced that before. As you saw some better shots outside the base, a bit like Le Bourget on the hill at the end of the runway.
mr. Woolley. You have a fantastic airforce and I admire their work but tell us why don't you have firefighters like the B 747. At this moment Australia needs them as well maybe more..It is heartbreaking that Australia is on fire. Save your people and the wildlife.
A worthy question that has been asked of the government several years before this fire situation has exploded. Australia leases aircraft from the Northern Hemisphere but there is some overlap of seasons so these deadly fires has exposed the lack of large firefighter aircraft. The added issue is that there are so many fires in so many states Australia would need a full squadron of 747, DC10, Hercules and 737 waterbombers to cover all regions. If we don't spend big after this devastation then there is something seriously wrong with state and national governments.
@@NigelWoolleyaviation Thank you for your honest answer. I live in Holland but my brother lives in SA. So I am a little bit worried. I hope your government will take the appropriate action to guarantee that Australia will have a save future. Many greetings from a wet Holland.
@@greetenmax You have good reasons to be concerned Max. On the topic of firebombing support more aircraft were scheduled to arrive from USA now but have unfortunately been delayed due to poor weather.
Seen lots of rubbish shaky footage but yours was spot on. What camera were you using?
Cheers WR..I was using a SonyAX53. Keep stomping!
Another brilliant compilation,Nigel, great variety of aircraft if only RIAT could match this!!
Great to see the Neptune flying.
