I did a savings challenge where I put all of my commission sales into savings and just lived off my hourly. I was able to save $22,000 in just over 2 years. Your channel has changed my life!
That's a great idea. Thank you. I can do this method with my overtime monies. Just act like I didn't do it right? and just deposit all of that OT money into my savings account and just live on my base salary only. Thank you again @Angela.
1. 26 or- 52-week Savings Challenge (save a specified amount of money each week for 6 -12 months) 2. 30-day No-Spend Challenge (with the exception of bills/utilities, food, gas, medicine) 3. 30-day Meal Planning Challenge (meal plan and shop for groceries, no purchase of meals, take a packed lunch to work) 4. $5.00 Savings Challenge for 90 days (save every spare $5.00 bill) 5. Clever Girl Fund challenge - create an emergency savings fund to cover essentials (food, housing, transportation, medicine, utilities) for 3-6 months 6. Spare Change Challenge (collect and save all spare change in cars, handbags, purses, etc) 7. Coffee Break Challenge up to 30 days (save the money you would usually spend on coffee) 8. Weather Wednesday challenge (check the weather each Wednesday and save the amount the thermometer reads e.g. $50 for 50 degrees) 9. 30-day Minimalism Challenge (de-clutter for 30 days; valuable items can be sold to make extra cash)
The meal prep helps avoiding buying take-aways, we plan our weekly meals on the weekend and every Sunday, we prepare the food for the coming Mon - Fri, this even allows us to have the evenings free to go for a walk and look after our health or study something. If you want to save up even more in this category, have some vegetarian days or weeks, you will be amazed on how much money u can save by not buying meat/poulty, etc. - we are vegans now but I remember when we started with 2 vegan days a week then having meat only on weekends, etc.. We were so impressed at how much money we were saving. I think our mistake was that were eating out on the weekends to dont get bored BUT with the lockdowns we have now learned and got used to the idea that even during weekends we can have a meal at home, we can cook something nicer for the weekend like a good fresh pasta or something else that is a bit more elaborated than the weekly meals. And o make it special on the weekend we pack our food in containers and go to a park or beach to eat there (like a picnic). Planning your meals is definitely a big saving.
I had to come back here to drop a comment/progress report 😊. I adopted the weather challenge 🎉. So far, it's been so much fun and I'm addicted to it. I had a $600 saving challenge before watching your video and my goal was to save $50 monthly. From my side of the world, coupled with the low income, that was daunting 😢. But, after watching this video and adopting the weather challenge, I exceeded myself. Thanks for the motivation to remain disciplined ❤. More wisdom to you.
Doing 5 challenges this year: >Keep the change challenge (do it each year until the 4 crayon banks are full) >$5 challenge (do it each year) >52 week challenge monthly addition (will have $2k by end of year) >Age challenge ($1,872 save my age amount each week) >52 week challenge ($1,430 by adding an extra $1 onto each week)
Love these challenges ideas, particularly the Clever girl fund challenge to save your emergency fund. I have started 2 challenges at the beginning of January the 52wk challenge saving £1 for the first week, £2 for 2nd week, £3 for 3rd week and so on until week £52. Also a £20 a week challenge until week 52. On Monday I will be also doing a no spend week.
Thank you I do a lot of these challenges. The 52 I do backwards so it's not as costly in December .This year I 'm doing Lisa Grateful Me challenge of $1-$25 4 times ( its $1300). The weather one I do lower if it's 50° I do $5. At the moment we are decluttering & donating.DH just wants gone doesn't want to sell. So I'm saving $5 a reg. bag & $10 trashbag or box .Money going into the 3-6 month funds. I'm glad you popped up into my feet and cause I haven't watched you for a while so I'm gonna have to stop doing that again😊
The weather challenge sounds very interesting and fun to do!! Me and my husband will be starting that this week 🤗… All of the challenges you mentioned are great ideas!! Going to do at least 2/3 of them for this whole year 💫✨… Blessings to everyone 🌏 let’s make the best of it this year and don’t let this pandemic hold us back from achieving our goals
I do the 30 day no spend challenge for 3-4 months then break for a month and then continue. Typically Christmas and easter time are my spend zones no matter what
Two fun ways to save money: 1. Save quarters, adds up quickly 2. Save dollar bills that contain the first initial of your first, middle or last name. Every dollar bill has a large initial to the left of George Washington’s picture. When you receive change back from a cash purchase, you look forward to seeing if your initials are on the dollar bills to add to your savings
I've been a brown bagger for over 20 yrs. When I started working at the elementary school I'm at 19 yrs ago, the running joke was that I'd never use all the $5 I started w on my cafeteria account 19 yrs later, I still hover at around $2.50😂 I've only bought a baked potato and salad (.40 each) if I don't make my lunch the night before. I eat from the teacher bar about twice a month. I also used to LOVE the banana bread slice from Starbucks. Then I started making my own and adding chopped apples or pumpkin to the batter. I make mini loaves and gift them. For the cost of 2 Starbucks slices, I can make a dozen mini loaves, I know what's in them, WHO made them, that I've washed my hands, and I can make them gluten free, sugar free (for diabetic friends), etc. I also take orders for holiday giving & sales 😊
I'm currently addicted to the no spend challenge.. now i might have to break myself out of it just so i can socialize again, ugh!!!!... lol. I loved the $5 challenge,i think i saved close to $300 once
I have found this to be more interesting because I have been practicing many of these skills before even getting to know your page. But all the same because you have add up to my ideas for saving money.
Thank you for edifying my life! I just became a sub and also just commented on your, “how to save 10k in a year” video. Your content confirmed I’m on track…I have been saving now for almost a year and will hit 10k next month, Apr ‘22. My plan is to continue saving 1k for the next eight months which will put me at 18k in Dec. My OCD will kick in since it’s so close to 20k. (Lol) So I will put any extra that I can to get as close as possible to that 20k by Dec 31, 2022. Thank you so much for your meaningful content. God Bless you and yours!🥰
I have done the spare change challenge and saved $1’s as well as the no spend challenge for years 🙌🏾 I am looking forward to trying the 26 week & 52 week challenge 🤗
Love these ideas! I feel like you can do more than one challenge at the same time. And the challenges help you incorporate healthy habits. Thank you ladies. ❤
☺ I'm excited to watch. This is an initiative of mine. I want to buy a property this year and beyond and a plan to conserve what I have is the first step.
4/14/22 Good morning from High Desert, California. You are very inspirational and reconfirming of my thoughts and actions. I forwarded and shared this to my husband’s phone… Just hoping he reads and puts thought into it before dumping his phone at the end of the day. Great person just not on the same page… Thank you once again. 🥰 new Subscriber
Hello CGF! I'm a newbie to your channel. Love your videos! Thank you! Was wondering - please do you have videos on advice for people that give a lot? I'd say it's one of my love languages but I'd also love to learn tips to 'manage it' cos sometimes, its quite significant. I know giving is good...but at the same time...:)
I just opened a 13 month CD at 5.5% APY at the Bank of OZK in Atlanta, GA to create a diverse portfolio. I need to rollover some money from a 401K. Any suggestions?
I have been waiting for your video. Let me click the bell. Ahem: Do you recommend those "new" apps that save money for you? Like True Bill. I want to try it...if it's free. 😏 Oh, I do the 52 week challenge to save the amount of the week per week. I'm not doing a coffee challenge. I'm sure that I keep DD in business, but...🤨 I am thinking about the food one. I end up throwing out a lot of food at the end of each week. Thanks for this video.
I started this year 1st week of jan,i decided to save every week as little as R10 on the 2nd week will be R20 ,increase of R10 every week . I will start Wednesday wearther challenge i want so see something just for a month Thanks a lot
I love Starbucks I go 2-3 times per day thank god I immediately stop after seeing how much I spent in a month nearly gave me a heart attack. For the last 2 months I was able to save it instead of having Starbuck breath. It was worthed to see the money grow in my saving account. Thank God I changed for the best!
Cooking at home is not a challenge for me... I do not understand why people line up or drive through for half an hour for junk food.... In this time I have prepped, enjoyed, dishes washed and put away...
Which of these challenges have you tried or plan to try to save more money? Share in the comments! Thanks for tuning in!
😢😢the planning meal and the no spending challenge.
