Very interesting jig head. Got to say if I saw that on a shelf, I would probably walk right past it but seeing some of the applications for it might make it a keeper. I like the underspin idea.
I’ve followed you since 2017 Matt, and I’m delighted for your success, and I’m always looking for something new that could catch more fish. I think that the line through definitely changes the lure action and fishability, and adding a treble helps with short strikes, but it takes away the stealthy aspect and maybe alter the action, which will definitely deter a finicky fish, but there’s always those times ( early in the tournament) when fish are just feeding 😊. A little willow blade may be wonky to add in order for it to have freedom and room to work ( spin&flash). I also see a possibility of adding another smaller swimbait to where if you could, it would look like a pair of minnows running together like during a shad spawn 😮 I would love to tinker with that idea🤷🏻♂️ I do hope you do a follow up with whatever the outcome good or complicated. One issue is it’s not a simple rigging and you would have to screw on a few swimbaits ahead of tournament time .😜🍀🎣🍀 I live in Raleigh NC,and fishing a couple of club tournaments in late May on the Chowan river and I hope to get back there when you guys get there in June 🍀🎣🍀😜 I would love to meet you along with a couple of my other favorite BPT Pros.
Your definitely growing the channel, congrats Matt! I keep you on my fantasy. You win, I win lol! Ps, 6 Sense has a screw on one. Wouldn’t that eliminate the need for a bobber stop? God Bless!
Couldn’t that wind up disqualifying a fish if it comes in with that stinger treble on the outside of its mouth? Especially if it was a short strike and the main jig hook wasn’t inside.
I didn’t know that. I’ve watched some anglers in recent MLF tournaments that are using forward facing sonar and they often show the official that the jig hook is inside the mouth. I even saw one angler disqualify the fish himself because the hook was on the outside gill cover. All while using a single hook jig n minnow finesse bait and ffs.
Great rig Matt! Its a great bait for riprap or off colored water and maybe add a small glass rattle.
That’s a good idea!

Right on! Thanks for watching!

That’s some good ideas right there! We’d love to meet you as well! Come on out to the Chowan!
I agree with possibly doubling your catch when they're short striking. Maybe also downsize the weight of the jig head if that's an option
That’s right!
Looks like that would be a fantastic Sauger or walleye rig.
You're right, it would be awesome!
Do you worry about it not staying horizontal? Seems like it would hang vertical.
If you were hanging it, yes, but I think on a cast and shake retrieval it sits horizontal
@@MattBeckerFishing thanks. makes sense.
Definitely gives you more options, with just the bobber stop alone turns it into like a loop knot switch can give it more action!👍🎣
Very true!
Appreciate all the tips
No problem!

Thank you!
Adds a lot of strike resistance with all that hardware
Agreed!
Maybe you could tie a short leader to the split ring and put another minnow below it. The Double Jiggle Rig!!!
Ohhh yeah that’s an idea!

If you’re not sight fishing, that’s still a legal catch! In most states

Yes I think it would be cool
Awesome
