Development of fighter aircraft attempts to balance size, speed, armament and maneuverability to come up with the perfect fighter. Due to the difficulties and challenges of bundling all of these in one aircraft, many different varieties have been developed through the years which highlighted one or more aspects but rarely all in one. And sometimes the mold had to be broken and the motto "bigger IS better" came into play. Due to these such heavyweight fighters like the P-61, Me 410, Beaufighter, J5N1 and SM.91 were developed to fly faster, remain maneuverable and carry heavier weapons and ordnance, sometimes much heavier than their lighter counterparts. The F-4C Phantom II is no exception, originally developed as a souped-up F3H Demon, this fighter was modified into a larger, heavier, faster fighter-interceptor/bomber that the U.S. Navy didn't realize it needed and when it did, it went all in.

The new german phantom actually has an accurate cockpit. I hope they change the rest in the new update.

With the F-4C when you're aiming for an ACM lock, you want to aim your pipper as high up above your intended target as possible. The radar modeled in the F-4C ingame is very, very sensitive to clutter in search or acquisition modes, however once locked it's very consistent and reliable unless the target completely hugs the deck or goes fully below you. Picture the lock box you get you would be able to see in RB/AB, and try to place the bottom of it above the horizon and in line of sight from the ground, but directly on top of your target. One locked, dive at least below your target to retain the lock most effectively. It's difficult but with careful positioning and practice, it can be done consistently. Source: F-4C main in EC SB since it came out. Anyhow, good flying! Enjoyed every last minute of it. Good work on mostly not taking the gunpod, it hampers your performance when its tiered against high-G dogfight missiles and supersonic dogfighters, where you NEED your performance to not get cheesed by all-aspects when you have no flares. Trust the AIM-9E's and your positioning to count as you did in this video. Fingers crossed for more videos of my favorite jet in the game. It's one of the most rewarding jets to play because of it's unfortunate state, ironically :D

F-4 is such a beauty
I wish they'd give it AIM-7Es and AIM-9Js at LEAST. If the F-4C had those it'd be much more enjoyable to fly

Your radar has IFF, which is nice! Watch for friendly fire and remember, (-) on radar is enemy, and (=) on radar is friendly. Also try "SAS damping", SAS button in controls. Good Luck :)
Use your TWS to it’s full extent! I used to regularly fly out the viggens with an old friend and the all-aspect TWS mode makes all the difference against aircraft with just SRC or MTI.
