Last week, SA watched on as Chief Justice Raymond Zondo swore in Paul
Shipokosa Mashatile as deputy president of the country.
Mashatile was among a cohort of ANC MPs who joined President Cyril
Ramaphosa’s cabinet.
But who is Mashatile and what does his past tell us about the kind of
deputy he will be?

It's the other way around. Paul will become President once Cyril is booted out. The vacant Deputy Presidents post becomes vacant, in comes Julius to fill the position.
