- In the latest of Vogue’s “Objects of Affection” series, London-based fashion designer Erdem Moralıoğlu's home proves to be just as romantic as the gowns he creates. The home was previously owned by artist Duffy Ayers, and Erdem keeps her memory alive with a still life she once possessed that now sits above the fireplace of what was her studio space. Erdem also talks about his fascination with busts and how Cecil Beaton inspired an entire fashion collection.

I love seeing rich people’s houses when they actually look like homes, like this one, and not hotels. I liked the unfinished, scuffed floors and the practicality of the spaces in the house. You can tell the money went to covering the walls with beautiful things and things that had sentimental value.
yeah, the hinoki tub with corked lined walls in the basement closet definitely made me think of real homes. cringe.
"It's quite quiet in this area because...everyone is....dead"
Solid intro haha
I love this , collections without clutter , beautiful art and photography, colour where needed .
The house breathes , it’s calming .
Beautifully stated, thought the same.
It is a delight to see a house with beautiful paintings in it. I watch nothing but shows about houses (designing, renovating, building, moving into or out of, dreaming of, buying, selling, re-doing, organising, painting, etc. etc.) and I despair of this period of time when, IT SEEMS to me, that NO ONE is interested in Art anymore. So... to see THIS HOUSE, with one of its inhabitants expressing such a love of portraiture .... Ah!!! HEAVEN!!
THANK YOU, thank you, Thank You!!! My faith is restored.
It was super touching to see that you had Duffy Ayers painting in the house. I think that says a lot about your character and how much you care about Art.
Agree
I can't get enough of the beauty and simplicity of this house, the enviable collection of antique busts, and the charming authenticity of Erdem.
See this is a great example of minimalism I like. Everything is still calm, clean, not too bold but still have so much color life and warmth!
Yeah, motivating me to tidy up a little!
In what way is this minimalism? I’m genuinely wondering because they have eclectic collection of art and books, not very minimalist
How is this minimalist?
Minimalist? Calm? Where?
@@adrianmendozadiaz5033 If you read my response to other comments than that explains the thought process of why I made my comment
Weird, sweet, & clearly in love. Wish him much happiness in that house. ❤
Ok, a striking observation.
What do you think is weird?
@@THALOOTI I think you may have interpreted that "weird" denotion as more malicious than it really is. Erdem is a bit quirky and that's lovely
@@Schmodin It was a question. And to a question you get an answer without even knowing the answer.
Your answer in short: "weird"= malicious.
So you see "weird"=malicious, ok.
@@THALOOTI No, I see your response as hostile. Weird is not inherently malicious at all, as I detailed in my original answer. For that reason, I wanted to clarify. Wish you much happiness ❤️
Proud of Erdem! He is half Turkish/half British, and as a Turk, proud of his accomplishments and wonderful designs!
Have you achieved anything?
@@northernhemisphere4906 She has accomplished being an empathetic, non-selfish, and genuine person content with a fellow countryman's success. What about you?
@@troianoleonardo I guess my question went in hot as a condescending one. Can you confirm?
@@troianoleonardo what about erdogan's success?
@@minigiant8998 don't be a hater, dear
This is why there is always this sense of helpless romanticism in all of Erdem's designs. It is so visible here in the way how he chooses his objects of affection.
I love him. He is down to earth and has a beautiful smile,
What a beautiful house! Erdem and Phillip have fantastic taste, really loved this tour!
Everything looks sleek and modern. With all the antique objects, it gives it a whole lot more depth.
what's sleek and modern? do you mean the paint colour? there isn't a single new thing in that house lol
@@amr5388 some or the furniture is definitely modern.
I love houses with special, older objects. It’s like your own little museum but I like that his house isn’t too cluttered (people who like these type of objects tend to over-consume, I know i do). If I had this type of house and $ like him I can only dream of all the things I would collect and how I would decorate. He did so well. Erdem has such a calming, humble energy. Lovely video. Ps. I love his comment on the graveyard and how it doesn’t ‘scare’ him to live nearby one.
Word, it's a subtle balance. And ''Your own little museum'', beautiful.
This house is so simple and yet Beautiful .And it also give me the same vibe as Rose Uniacke's house. Love it
"It's quiet around this area cause everyone is... dead" LOL
It’s amazing how many modern architects live in Georgian houses!
Georgian houses have great volume and proportions which modern houses lack. The interiors of Georgian houses are clean and spare that align with most modernist architects' aesthetics.
I loved how they didn't change the original wooden floors.
That bathroom gallery wall is so lovely.
i think too much humidity for the art
@@minigiant8998 I don't think any of them is precious or of great value - besides there is a big window that you can let fresh air in. I am more concerned about the shower stall not having a glass door or curtain (at least I didn't see it) - the water will splash on the wooden floor.
@@MTMF.london it looks like the only source of water is overhead so the splashing would be minimal
Living in a house full of love. Charming host with exquisite taste. The dog is adorable ♥
Loved this - he is so endearing w/ such a warm presence.
Erdem Moralıoğlu an admired person in the fashion industry .and it inspired me to enjoy watching your house.I loved your house in London.thank you Erdem Moralioglu

Love it- not overdone but just perfect and homey. He is very sweet. Lucky husband ❤
I love portraits and busts too. Many do not. Nice to know Mr Erdem does too. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼❤️
Glaze of Desire is such a captivating painting!
I have never been more envious in my entire LIFE! I LOVEEEE ITTTT
Minimalist and calm and oh so clean. Relaxing.
A minimalist house that actually exudes warmth, charm, and love. Bravo!
I love the contrast, modern and antique. Lightness of being and beauty.
Fell in love with this house the moment he said it was a quiet area ❤ I love this channel. I’m always inspired
I couldn't love this house more! How fantastic to have a complete collection of The Yellow Book. I am very happy to have one volume;-))
Perfection! And he comes across as a nice guy too. Thanks for showing.
Love the simplicity of the space and then all the eclectic objects
What a lovely house that's definitely full of unique items but also feels "lived-in". I definitely think the coffee alarm clock is one of the most fascinating things i have ever seen, would love one for myself as well! Erdem is not only a fantastic fashion designer but interior designer as well haha

Simply amazing and a beautiful taste. Love it!
What a beautiful art collection!
The coffee alarm is so fab,,
i have to brush my teeth before drinking coffee.
I'd be afraid of thrashing about before fully waking up and getting burnt by hot coffee.
I use to buy so many of his clothes, don’t see them around much anymore! Fabulous clothes
4:56 "And I also love it because Philip made it"
Aw.. :)
Loved the house & the Owner!👍❤️
love all the unique objects
Hinoki Cypress is one of my favorites, I live for dogs, and Pippi Longstocking was my first book love. Lovely place! 🥳🐾
There are a lot of busts and each is exquisite.
always really interesting to see other peoples houses (particularly when there resources allow them to do exactly what they want)…and the judge them for their choices quietly, but harshly hehe
Beautiful tour 😊
AAAaaaaah absolutely lovely. Thank you Erdem, you're beautiful❤
"Sadly passed away at 103."
Oh my dear, if we all could be so fortunate as to live a full life until 103. 😊
You have exquisite taste in art
those green couches! 😍
This has to be the best interior I have ever seen. It is full to the brim with interesting objects, however spacious and uncluttered. Love the lack of stair carpet and the odd splash of bright colours.
I loooove his bathroom 💚💚💛💛💛
A throughly charming gentleman.
