OSRS is far easier to get into than RS3 at least. I only play rs3 but I enjoy watching OSRS content from Torvesta, B0aty and RSchronicles. The games free, so just jump in and mess around, it's okay to be completely lost on what to do but that's the nature of this sandbox mmo where you make your own path.
Pking is definitely harder to get into, but the game itself is not at all! Especially if you find a nice clan people can help you out and give you tips etc. As for pking you can low risk with friends in multi and just mess around to practice
