    Must say, the honing you did on the bores during the assembly looks absolutely amazing ! I was shocked to see how good the cylinder bores were, but you in my opinion did a better job than factory ! 10/10

    Good technique on the circlips, I just reassembled my XV535 engine and had to mess with the same type of clips for ages with needle nose pliers and screwdrivers. You made it look easy so that’s going be stored for next time. Thanks 😊

    I’ve disassembled numerous plain brg engines and have observed wear in the shells hence the popularity of coated shells these days for instances where there is cold start contact air bubbles in the oil etc

    Well done, great video Jim. Do you have to renew piston circlips? And do you use 4 piston ring compressors for each piston?

      Yes, always use new circlips. Just install one piston at a time. (one ring compressor)

      Probably eye wateringly expensive, taking into account the cost of the new parts that are required. But if that’s what the customer wants to have done, have it done properly.

      Parts bill with all the stuff for the head, Valves and Guides etc was about 3k Labour about 2k 😨 You've go to really want it!

    Did we miss something.... before clearances ?? Have u changed all the main and big end shells yam specify moly grease on threads and under bolt/ nut head

      Not sure what clearance you are talking about? This is a Suzuki and they call for engine oil on the bolts. You wouldn't replace shells unless you needed to change an oil clearance, they don't wear out.

    You should avoid 101% use ( ..as you do) the impact
    ...truly you re looking so the details generally BUT you do miss details important..

      There are special tools for almost everything! Not necessary for this application. I was wondering how long it would take the "special tool torque wrench police" to show up 😁

      @@SuperbikeSurgeryTV on connecting rod bolt probably you thought that you should 101% MUST use torque wrench..
      ..I agree with you ..
      ..but that bolt you used the impact affects the side thrust bearings.. so according to service manuals it's important..
      I really admire you I believe you truly love your job..
      But some points must be discussed..

    Always wear gloves 😂 mate my old man was a mechanic all his life only wusses use gloves its called getting stuck in its only oil and dirt easily washed after later

      If you want filthy dirty finger nails mate that's up to you. From my experience the vast majority of people that can't be bothered to even keep their hands clean usually can't be bothered to do a thorough job. It's just an attention to detail thing!

      @@SuperbikeSurgeryTV when ur messing with engines ur gonna get ur hands dirty its why its classed as a dirty job considering ur messing with oil and and other parts of the engine when im tinkering or messing with bikes i wash my hands when they get too dirty i dont see point in wearing gloves i see getting ur hands dirty as part of the job if u dont like getting ur hands dirty maybe its the wrong job or hobby for u but i can see where ur coming from 👍
