So the bezel is full ceramic with “bi-finish ceramic insert in matt black and intense polished black” not half ceramic half titanium - sorry for the mistake!

@@MinuteMon thank you for the review and this clarification - you got me worried for a few hours 🤣
Excellent release! It has few advantages over the tudor black bay 58 gmt:
      - titanium grade 5
      - quick release bracelet
      - smaller links with enough micro adjust positions that makes it possible to fit to any wrist size
      - ceramic bezel insert
      - the bezel is done on such a way that it can be used for measuring elapsed minutes or hours due to the lumed triangle and the fact that it can be steadily positioned between the 24 clicks
      - I think the pilot esthetic fits a gmt better
      - looks a bit dressier so a better balance between dress and sports

    • @wristopia4101
      @wristopia4101 5 місяців тому

Why did you think it was titanium? I have never heard that before so find it very odd you would just make it up rather than assume its a combination of polished and matt ceramic.

@@Vess_Iossifov you have just justified my purchase of this piece. Also, I personally feel that the BB58’s design is too common and lacks any real effort. Feels like the brand is doing the heavy lifting rather than the watch itself

    • @Vess_Iossifov

@@idevwatpo congratulations! Wish you enjoy it!
I personally already thought that the Zulu time 39mm is one of the best watches on the market keeping in mind all factors. Now this titanium model the way it is done I think it is a perfect watch - the design, colors, materials, functionality, quality and price - I really think it is as close to perfect as I can see. It is a very rare thing!
And I agree - it is an original and amazing look from a brand with matching piloting pedigree. In comparison black bay 58 gmt is very unoriginal - yes, it uses the designs of sister company rolex so all is good, but longines went further and actually created an excellent new and fresh design! The only advantage I see is the master chronometer certification but it seems to me the L844 cosc-certified caliber of the Zulu time is good enough!
So again - excellent choice and enjoy it 🙂

Hey the other Easter egg with ‘Zulu time’ is that it harkens back to the first ever gmt that Longines produced, which was the first ever wristwatch gmt!
Awesome video, all the data and watch shots I wanted. And you’re pretty much the only one on UA-cam for this ref at this point!❤👌

The Zulu time from Longines presents some of the best value in the entire industry. I’ve owned it…the detail, movement/travelers gmt functionality, ceramic bezel, etc. make it amazing. There’s one major problem imo left out of most reviews… The male end links are a problem. They protrude far beyond its case size and give the appearance of the watch overhanging on wrists despite in being within your typical case proportions. I highly recommend trying on in-person before purchasing for this reason.

My biggest gripe with the zulu time is the rediculously long endlink-to-endlink, which I believe is around 53(!!!)mm. Even though the end links angle down, this watch does not wear well on my 6,5' wrist. If you wear it on a strap, the dimensions are appropriate for a 39mm case. I'd rather not have a quick-release system in the bracelet for a better fit over the quick-release functionality that comes with male end links. What is the point of reducing the case size if the bracelet ruins the fit?

When i tried on zulu, the biggest flaw i noticed is that is has a very straight case back, so it makes the watch wear really "long". Awesome watch but has two red flags which make it a no-go for me:
    1. No on-the-fly microadjustment. It's a must have in in 2024 and many cheaper brands do it. If you ever wore a bracelet with one you'd never want to go back to fixed. The wrists expand during the day.
    2. The true lug-to-lug is actually a whooping 53mm, making this watch wear well only on wrists 7'' and above. The male end-links ruin it so don't be fooled by the smaller 39mm case.
They need to either launch a smaller 37mm case or reduce the lugs, or equip female end links. Then it'll be perfect on titanium.

I have the Black Bay 58 GMT which I absolutely *love* to death. By far and away my favorite watch ever. It has that "je ne sais quoi" like the first Porsche I drove or the first painting I bought. It's hard to put into words but it has some kind of magic emotional quality that makes me just love it. The Longines seems like it's more cold and calculating - not an emotional feeling but a technical one. Maybe it's the titanium and its spooky lightness, or the dial, I can't quite put my finger on it. But anyway, that's me :)

I like the titanium, but I'm not sure about the gilt. It reminds me of the BB54, which I would also prefer in monochrome.

That clasp is really bugging me. It should have microadjust like the Tudor and the branding looks bad. Give us the clasp from the Hydroconquest GMT! That would make this watch near perfect in my book.

At $3,000 Longines Hydroconquest GMT is much a better option.

Another great choice. I’d love the HydroConquest GMT even more if it comes in 39mm!

Want a better clasp and even lug with from Longines. I have the spirt 37 mm

This one hits homerun ngl. Longines really puts their heart into Spirit line. Conquest... I love them, but conquest and hydroconquest have too much of submariner, and datejust influence. Spirit champagne 37mm, this titanium 39mm spirit zulu time, and legend diver are top three watches you should get from them. Other models... save money and move on.

I love watches but i can't understand paying such price tags for most of them. I must be missing something

I like Longines, however, no brand will be able to move very high up the scale when they have models that have gold plating.

I would pick the Longines any day over the Tudor. It just plain looks better and the Tudor is less original. It has by all accounts become passe.

It’s a perfect watch… other than those horrible male end links. That’s the only negative and the reason why I won’t buy it. Why longines why
