Great review! Your channel is becoming one of my favorites. No-nonsense, and your communication style is actually quite relaxing. And the shooting is always good!
Excellent no-nonsense review. No one out there touched on the optic system like you did. And the fact that you look like Dan Bongino's son helps. :) Thank you!
Thank you once again, Mr. Yam! And one additional comment offering; after reading Ayoob's review, he confirms the Compact model comes from Springfield with the Small frame module. This is unique, as the Full-Size model comes from the factory with the Medium module. Perhaps you adding a Small module to your Full-Size model would help close the comfort gap for you between the two platforms.
OK -- I'm a delusional FANBOi when it comes to Springfield products. All I can say is I don't need all of this bone marrow and I heard it's pretty valuable 🤣🤣🤣
Technically all a person would need is the regular compact echelon. With the compact you could buy the full sized frame and have a flush comp which would be better than the full sized version that has a port 😎. The compact version can basically do everything! You can use it for carry then down the road turn it into a competition setup with a full sized frame, a flush comp and an upgraded trigger. It would probably be $200 for the threaded barrel, $60 for the frame, $100 for the comp and $160 for the trigger to make it a competition setup so it might not be worth upgrading it 😂. It would probably be the same price just to buy a comp version in the future and keep the compact the way it currently it. It's cool that you can change it though.
If only springfield sold replacement springs and parts. It's hard to maintain your ccw when a company doesn't allow you to maintain it. Im surprised that people don't mention this. You're supposed to replace your springs after so many thousands of rounds for general maintenance. Im not taking about warranty im talking about preventing future issues if you practice a lot. It's a super nice product but maintenance is important to me.
I agree with you. But in the meantime, I've found that having a second, idential pistol at the ready makes for a great collection of replacement parts. (I guess their plan is working perfectly)
This is the only reason that I haven’t purchased this pistol yet. There are no factory replacement parts available to consumers. XD parts were never available. Glocks, Sigs, and S&W all have readily available parts and they are the competition. This is a problem when it costs about $100 to ship a pistol one way. You really would need to purchase 2 identical guns if you are a serious shooter.
@@rhettlyerly545 Yeah that's honestly the reason serious shooter's use platforms like the m&p, glock and pdp. I actually think that the echelon is nicer than those platforms but it's the wrong platform for a serious shooter. I'll end up buying the 10mm compact echelon if they release one because it's a wilderness caliber that I wouldn't shoot very often. Buying the 9mm is a complete different story because you would use it often and need parts. Basically I'm only happy about this release because of a potential compact 10mm in the future. In my opinion If they manage to create a reliable compact 10mm it'll be the best 10mm striker fired platform on the market. Knowing springfield they'll probably do something stupid like only release a full size 10mm then make their customers wait a year or 2 for the compact. They release the full size first because they know that most people prefer a compact and will buy the platform all over again. Companies like springfield only care about one thing and that's profits..
@flexiblehorse12 You shouldn't have to buy a second identical ccw just to have spare parts. I would never buy the same version of the echelon twice. I imagine that they'll end up releasing an echelon elite a few years down the road. I noticed that the trigger reset isn't very good on the echelon and I truly believe that they designed the trigger that way on purpose. They never give you exactly what you want because they want you to buy the next version. The m&p is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Over a decade ago apex designed a m&p trigger kit that rivals the pdp pro trigger. It's now 2024 and Smith&Wesson STILL hasn't made a m&p trigger that's even close to the apex trigger kit. Their performance center triggers aren't even in the same universe as the apex which is ridiculous. Smith&Wesson could easily design the trigger to match the apex but they choose not to do it. They want to give you tiny upgrades at a time so that customers keep buying the next model. Springfield and other companies do the same exact thing. That's why I often chose to upgrade them myself. I would rather install an aftermarket trigger than play their little games. I'm crossing my fingers that the new cz p10c is better than the compact echelon. If cz makes the trigger better than the original p10c it's possibly going to beat the echelon compact. The grip on the current p10c is longer than a g19 which sucks for carry so hopefully they decided to shorten it. The new p10c is probably going to release soon. I just want a company to make the world's first perfect compact! Currently every single one of them has flaws lol. The pdp has the perfect trigger and grip but it's ridiculously thick, snappy and has plastic sights. If the echelon had a better trigger and has a metal double recoil spring/guide rod it would be close to being perfect. I wish that the front sight on the echelon was yellow like the hellcat. Green is a bad color for a front sight because everything in nature is green! I'm red/green color blind so it's difficult to use a green sight with a green or brown background. Yellow and orange makes a lot more sense for a front sight. I don't understand why springfield decided to go with green. They have a white night sight option but I don't understand why it doesn't have a yellow or orange front sight instead of white 🤔. Oh well it is what it is lol.
@@flexiblehorse12You should be able to just order a replacement part without having to buy another weapon. I would probably never even fire this gun enough to need to change anything out even for maintenance but it would be nice to be able to just order the part if I need it.
Well here's a surprise. Yet another review on today's feed about the damned Springfield Echelon compact. Well orchestrated guys. This is getting redundant. Every time someone drops a new gun, every fucking guntuber has a glowing review on the same day. You should look up the meaning of the word "subtle" some time.
You definitely have to take new release reviews with a grain of salt. Especially since they got these products for free. It's definitely a nice product though although springfield doesn't sell replacement springs and parts for their products. You have to send your ccw to them in the mail for simple springs replacement which is ridiculous. It can be the nicest product in the world but if you can't replace your own springs and parts what's the point of buying it.
I don’t know what you want them to do. Obviously, everyone wants to be the first reviewer so Springfield has to release all the test guns simultaneously. Nobody has to watch any videos on UA-cam.
Excellent no-nonsense review. Thank you.
EXCELLENT review!
Fantastic information!
Really appreciate the variety of ammo used. Good stuff!
Thank you

I love the review Best one yet. It's hard to find people who are critical around important details.
Good stuff brother!! Thank you!
Thank you for your great reviews!
Good job, very professional . This is a fine example of how all gun review videos should be done
Thanks for the excellent, detailed review!
Excellent job, I'll be back for your next one.
Excellent review as usual. Looks like a great offering.
Awesome review...Thanks
Honest review, excellent work. I own no compact size striker fired pistols but I may consider this for my first one
Good review, thanks. I like the thumb rest this has. I need to check this out in person!
I appreciate Springfield placing the slide so farther to the rear allowing my short thumb to reach it.

The Glock 48 being 1/16” grip circumference larger but holding significantly less ammunition is fascinating.
6:21 which one? Sig's P320, Rugers Ruger American pistol, Beretta APX/A1, IWI's Masada?
Accept the mystery.

I'm going to start Only Fans, there's gotta be someone on the internet that will pay a 50+ y.o. man. 😂
Curse you, Springfield. Here's my wallet. Take it. I already have 2 Echelons. This will be the third. Talk about a company firing on all cylinders.
Here too, I have the Echelon, Echelon Comp, so now I need this one!

@@Quinncannon think I’ll wait for them to come out with the Compact Comp version
@@Shenmue06...SPOT ON! Finally...!
I agree that this should have been their starting point. Plenty of potential for growth/development/MODS! 😊
They will come out the comp version of the compact echelon. I would wait until that one comes out unless you don’t care if has the comp or not.
What's the over under on number of months till the drop a compensator version? My guess is 6.
You're probably right. Although I'm still holding out hope and fantasy for a 5.5" competition model (with or without a comp)

How is the trigger? Weight, creep, walll, break?
