The needles they used were often so thin that it was almost impossible to tell unless we squeezed them. If one bottle squirted through the cap, we'd dump the whole case. To this day, I still catch myself, from time to time, squeezing water bottles before opening them.
You could always eat those bees as just drop earrings, with the bee on top and the spiral hanging down, like they're flying up to land on your ears. I have a few pairs like that, some star ones I really like, and when they don't wanna stay up, I just let them hang down like stars dripping off my ear lobes instead.
