Stunning cards!I love the vibrant colors of the alcohol inks! And then with the alcohol lifting it’s so gorgeous having the interest of the image without covering up any of the painting!
These cards are just fabulous. I am definitely going to try this technique in the future. Like you I could watch videos on this for hours 😂. I love how each one is so different. Thanks so much for sharing this xx
These are fantastic, Mindy! I must confess, I have the inks and the lift, but I have never tried them. You have inspired me! I love those moody backgrounds!
Your cards are stunning. I learned quite a bit from you here and I have made many purchases after watching this. Including the Gina K set. Love you guys. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work and techniques. xo
Can’t ever get enough playing with alcohol inks. Your results are so pretty. You are absolutely right the black ink is so dramatic to use. So many ways to use it. Thanks for sharing your fun!!
I just purchased the Tim Holt Alcohol ink kit and spent 3 hours yesterday making backgrounds and turning some into cards! It is so much fun and these are beautiful cards! Love the moody ones! So very dramatic!
Oh Mindy, these are absolutely gorgeous! I never heard of the black alcohol ink, now I will have to order. I love the moody colors, so unique. And I must do a alcohol ink swatch sample, that’s a great idea! Thanks so much!💜🤗💞💞💞💞💞
Beautiful cards! I have the lift ink and was looking how to use it. Thanks so.... much for this video, I’m sure going to watch it many times and listen carefully for your many tidbits you give. You made my day!!!
What Beautiful cards you made Mindy! Those moody cards turned out so artsy and I think they're "guy-friendly" too! I need to make more for the gents LOL! Sorry you hurt your thumb but I applaud you for pushing through and finishing all your cards!
Mesmerizing! Love all the cards, especially your moody cards. I received an alcohol lift ink pad but wasn’t sure how to use it. I know what my playtime will be tomorrow! Great video. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
This opened up a whole new world for me for my cards. As an artist I used Alcohol inks for my Canvases. Never even entered my head to use it on cards! Duh! Lol Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful! If you are used to larger surfaces, it may be a little tricker to go smaller or start with an 8 1/2" x 11" and then you can trim it down. Good luck!
Sometimes techniques are right in front of my face and don’t think to use them. I did try this and they turned out beautiful. Not quite as beautiful as yours but I am happy. :) Thank you so much for sharing. What would we do without people like you and Jennifer, Gina, Simon, all of you! Sharing is caring. Hugs to you. :)
Thanks for such an informative video - I have had the inks and lifter but never used the lifter. Will certainly give it a try now. Your cards are beautiful.
Wowza Mindy, all of these cards are so beautiful. The dark moody ones are actually my favorites even though I love bright colors. They are absolutely stunning especially with the gold. I have only used glossy paper with alcohol inks. I need to get some Yupo so I can compare the two.
I totally love these! I started working with alcohol inks this week - inspired by you! I’m going to add the lift ink to my repertoire now; and just ordered black ink - LOVE the moody backgrounds. Thank you!!
OMG I’m completely sold on the black alcohol ink!!! Thank you for sharing! Have you used the black cardstock that Tim Holtz put out for alcohol ink? If so, can you do a video on it? I kind of hate it right now and can’t get it to work for me even with the mixatives or alloys. Thanks so much!
I guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Makai Fernando thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you! I work on a glass media mat (it's also linked in the video description). It's an amazing surface to work on - easy clean up especially for alcohol inks. I just clean it up with antibacterial gel.
Awesome cards, Mindy! Not sure I would mimic the "moody" backgrounds, but they do make very sophisticated-looking cards in the end. I just prefer brighter colors for alcohol inks. Have you ever tried the Yupo paper substitute from Marco's Paper? It's called Grafix Opaque White Craft Plastic Film. It basically behaves the same as Yupo, but is also heat resistant, so much less likely to warp when you heat emboss or use a heat gun to dry alcohol inks. I haven't used it in a long time, but I find it works really well. Anyway, if you want to check it out you can find it at this link: www.marcopaper.com/products.php?product=Grafix-Opaque-White-Craft-Plastic-Film. I was also curious why you didn't stamp your images onto cardstock after stamping with the lift ink onto the Yupo backgrounds? I saw Jennifer McGuire demonstrate when the lift ink first came out, & you can use the ink that's on the stamp to stamp onto plain cardstock for an image that has the same colors as the alcohol ink background. Then you can clean your stamp & repeat the process, if need be. I hope that all makes sense--just wondering. Anyway, thank you for sharing your creations & such wonderful inspiration. Take care, & have a great day! :)
I haven't tried any other yupo paper only because I've been really happy with what I have but I know there are a few other brands out there. Thanks for the info! There were a few times I had tried stamping off on cardstock but they didn't work out well for me. That is one thing I struggle with lol
It's a Stampin Bug. There are a few varieties out there on etsy but here is the shop mine came from www.etsy.com/shop/CreationsbyCocoStore?ref=nla_listing_details
I love those dark moody colors. I don't think I have seen something that rich before with other demonstraters. Love it.

I have not yet tried it yet but I’ve seen a video that said you can also use photo paper which I seem to have a plethora of. Yours are beautiful!
I've heard that too but haven't tried it yet ⭐️

@Makai Fernando It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass!
Beautiful ☺️! I’d love to see how you swatched your alcohol inks.
I'll make a note to try and do a short clip on it
@@MindyEggenDesign thank you so much
Beautiful. Does the ink stain the surface you are working on? What surface should you use as you are creating these backgrounds?
Thank you! I work on a glass media mat (it's also linked in the video description). It's an amazing surface to work on - easy clean up especially for alcohol inks. I just clean it up with antibacterial gel.
have you tried ink smooching with the ink that goes off and onto your mat?
I did on a few and saved those for another time.
What did you use to clean the stamp off after using the anti- lift pad?
I think I mentioned it in the video and have it listed in the supplies but I used Archival cleaner.

I am subscribed to your channel but it won’t let me be notified. Am I doing something wrong?
have you clicked the little bell icon?
@@MindyEggenDesign I did. It pops up with “this action is turned off for content made for kids”.
What are you using to rub over your stamping platform with a stamp in it?
