Horror movies just wouldnt be the same without him, carpenter was so much of an influence throughout his career and he still managed to create some of the best horror movies ever with banging soundtracks (i.e. The Thing or Halloween)
Hell yeah, The King is still kicking. I love this guy. Anyone who likes this stuff should not only listen to the Sorcerer soundtrack, but see the film too. It's not quite like a Carpenter flick (for one thing it was ridiculously expensive), but it has some of the same vibes going on, the same tense feel and the simplicity of individual scenes. And a badass synth score!
+SHOCKER I always thought that instead of Ghosts form Mars that film should have been called ESCAPE from Mars and instead of Ice Cube/Desolation Williams it should have been Kurt Russell/Snake Plissken. Perhaps in an alternate reality there is such a film...
That's an awesome idea having Snake on Mars. Damn I wish that would of happened. I hear Escape is getting a remake, I would rather see Kurt Russell reprise the role. Hollywood is depressing these days everything is a knock off or a remake.
I love it, getting this very dark sci-fi vibe from it. Just imagine it. An escape pod with a few people in it lands into a desolate planet with a dark purple atmosphere and you guessed it, there is a Thing waiting for them.
Reminds me of Com Truise, but I should say that Com Truise reminds me of John Carpenter soundtrack music from the 80's. Carpenter had a big impact on the film industry in so many ways. He's the most creative and inventive director of his time, in my opinion. He could do what Speilberg did with a 1/4 of the budget.
Holy crap this is great! It's 1986 again and movies aren't just one comic book mess after another. It's Carpenter time! THEY LIVE. etc. This sounds like perfect opening titles and credits music. Yeeeehhaaaaa!
Listening to this while watching the sunset in S. Mountain area of Phoenix, AZ. That music accompanying notions to trust my instincts and allow the dark sensations to breathe, as they reveal an important part of my complete perspective. Thanks John... Good work.
Imagine... Two Miami cops chasing a serial killer from Hell who is trying to perform a ritual and open a Vortex for demons to pour out into the world. Is that a John Carpenter movie or what? =)
I just got done listening to the full album. It's a great experience just listening to these tracks. I'm hoping Mr. Carpenter will consider making more albums to come...maybe even one with a more Western flavored influence soundtrack, like some of the tracks on ESCAPE FROM L.A. and VAMPIRES...Good work guys!
Imagine Dean Cundey back as his cinematographer, a collaborative of KNB FX with Rob Bottin and Screaming Mad George, minimal cgi and Tarantino & Rodriguez as producers. Somebody make it happen.
This guy man, such a talent. The film and music he makes are so godamn good.
He's going on tour, doing meet and greets, autographing. Check out his website or his Facebook page.
Horror movies just wouldnt be the same without him, carpenter was so much of an influence throughout his career and he still managed to create some of the best horror movies ever with banging soundtracks (i.e. The Thing or Halloween)
"Snake, we need you again."
+Gio Deleo (Captain Thundernuts) Perfect!!
Cool plot. However earth is at ground zero after the last movie.
"The name's Plissken"
maggie....
he's dead...
come on.
@@jwnj9716 call me Snake
Public: "John! We thought you were dead!"
John Carpenter: "Yeah, you and everybody else."
I play this song everywhere I drive. Makes me feel like Im in a Carpenter film 🎥
yeah im thinkin based
i live downtown LA in a homeless camp. Makes me feel i live in a Carpenter film ....
Cool😎
I would be looking over my shoulder here and there....scared..just to fit The Vibe. 😁 👍 👀
Same
Makes my entire life seem like a montage. Thanks. JC I drive the city at night a lot for work.
I want a John Carpenter's movie with this soundtrack and I want it NOW!!!
go read what movies he has made first... then watch them.
@@kritznschitz6683I think he knows what movies he's done. He wants a new movie.
A fusion of "Escape From New York" + "Big Trouble In Little China". Thanks Master! We love you!!!
.....and Halloween III: Season Of The Witch!!
Amazing, John Carpenter rules.
I collected John Carpenter film scores for years; it's really exciting to see an album of original compositions coming out. This sounds GREAT!
There will probably be more if this album comes out successfully.
Karkat Vantas i bought it :)
Hell yeah, The King is still kicking. I love this guy.

Tangerine Dream at their best... check out the Rubicon album by them!
Will Friedkin ("Sorcerer" director) is another badass.
Diamond film by another master. William Freidkin. The guy who gave us The Exorcist
Oh man. Sorcerer is such a brilliant film. The one scene on the bridge is just absolutely stunning!
This is 🔥🔥🔥 I was listening to this while driving and felt like I was starring in a Carpenter movie. Legendary!
The Master of Horror
Would love to hear this music in a sequel to Escape From LA. Escape From Earth would be epic. Kurt Russell as an older Snake would be killer.
+KronnangDunn Perhaps there is also an alternate reality where Ghosts Of Mars wasnt even made, I hope there is that is.
+SHOCKER I've allways wanted to see what happens between Escape from N.Y and Escape from L.A
That would be awesome.
Sounds like Big Assault Escape on Halloween Fog Darkness II.
I can hear the resemblance
+David Ridlen More like Trouble From The Assault Ward In The Mouth Of Mars.
I would watch both of those.
They Thing Trouble in The Fog of Christine
Big escape from the fog on halloween
This is wonderful... and so is John Carpenter.
This album is bad-ass, been playing it every day. Sooooo glad I stumbled upon it, the music makes me feel wicked.
I love it, getting this very dark sci-fi vibe from it. Just imagine it. An escape pod with a few people in it lands into a desolate planet with a dark purple atmosphere and you guessed it, there is a Thing waiting for them.
This guy is pur genius, it's a pity that we don't see him anymore in film direction :'(.
This guy John carpenter is really something else, always been a huge fan of his. Truly outstanding, genious legend.
If Carpenter had a 21st century budget and no studio interference we would be suprised of the fire and magic from the man.

Totally! Carpenters films has a very crispy, neat look, amazing plots and characters. All with limited budgets.
Key word being "crisp" because damn did those movies have a balance and sleek nature.
Mr Carpenter at his best. Always reinventing his sound, theme and concept. You are horror.
Those piano melodies... man... John uses some unusual harmonies that I feel only he can pull off. Masterfully done.
I can hear Chariots of Pumpkins hiding inside this. Salute to an absolute legend.
Exactly!
I knew I wasn't the only one who heard Chariots Of Pumpkins in there!
Inspirational. Like the dark piano riff. Love the synth bass line.
You should see Him LIVE, John Carpenter is such a Complete talented Artist,... Movie Director, Writer, Music Composer.
This track is amazing!

A master! This song is up there with his work such as Halloween, Escape From New York and The Fog.
Each time I listen to this I feel like watching one of his movies five times over

Tu as un sac a dos? Choisi personne en le gomme.
two words.... holy shit. this is amazing .hearing this closing my eyes . im picturing a brand new . kickass john carpenter film .
Listening to this while watching the sunset in S. Mountain area of Phoenix, AZ.
That music accompanying notions to trust my instincts and allow the dark sensations to breathe, as they reveal an important part of my complete perspective. Thanks John... Good work.
love his music! gets me pumped up & excited
Saw him play live in Liverpool last night. Awesome show
me to did you get to meet him after the show i never
John Carpenter genius
hero of my childhood
Incredible!!
This reminds me of a cross between Halloween III/Christine and a Jan Hammer-esque Miami Vice tune with those little guitar riffs.
Perfect!
Imagine... Two Miami cops chasing a serial killer from Hell who is trying to perform a ritual and open a Vortex for demons to pour out into the world.
Is that a John Carpenter movie or what? =)
***** holy smoke! I HAVE to watch it! It's Rutger Hauer and low-budget awesomness. Just the stuff I like. Thank you so much!
***** SPLIT SECOND is so damn amazing! It's such a fun movie.
well put, Gideon...
John Carpenter. Master of the thriller
Non stai facendo più film da un pò Maestro però il tuo tocco alle produzioni non lo perdi mai.....
The Master is back!!!
Five years later, I'm still cranking this shit.
Great Master !!!
I'm in love with this song
That's Great.. finally he back to his sounds...!!!
Ummm, can we get a movie with this awesome soundtrack?!
This has done wondrous things to my nethers.
The Man Has Still Got It.

Can't wait for the album.
Ahh the famous Carpenter/Prophet VS sound! This is straight out of Big Trouble In Little China!
Goddamn I love this!
Saw him live in Athens.Great show.
He's back...
I always had a crush on Carpenter's scores - reminded me a more "heavy"-oriented Tangerine Dream-kind of music.
Beautiful, thanks John :-)
The Best.
Favoloso!!!!
John Carpenter is always 100 % more super cool than many others...
Cant wait to get this LP.
beautiful and breathtaking sound play especially for eve valkyrie...
Simply, APOCALYPTIC!!!!!! Would love to see this used in a new JC project!
Sounds like John Carpenter
Amazing work
At the close of one of the most miserable years of human history, this is a shard of delight.
Just exquisite! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Excellent!!
INCREDIBLE!
JOHN CARPENTER IS A MASTER!!!!!!
un genio john carpenter , gran album electro ochentero
Carpenter is THE GUY!!!!!!
Love this song 🙌🙌🖤🖤🖤🖤
Fantastic.
Is this a theme from a Master´s specific movie? It doesn´t really matter whether it is or not....it´s simply AWESOME!!!
This is why 70's and 80's movies were great, they had soundtracks like this.
King Carpenter
Imagine Dean Cundey back as his cinematographer, a collaborative of KNB FX with Rob Bottin and Screaming Mad George, minimal cgi and Tarantino & Rodriguez as producers. Somebody make it happen.
You had me until you said Tarantino & Rodriguez as producers.
John Carpenter should score a Nicolas Winding Refn film.
John Carpenter should score a John Carpenter film.
0:34 Rocking beat commences!
Un génie reste un génie
Sublime.
Excellent.
GODDAMMIT WHY ISN'T IT FEBRUARY YET!?
