- In this episode, Dr. Perito answers a viewer question about the treatment for Peyronie's Disease. The question comes from a 72-year-old who has been living with a 60 degree curvature of the penis for the last ten years.
There are multiple treatments for Peyronie's Disease including surgery and plication, but as Dr. Perito recounts, men over 50 with the disease are encouraged to pursue a surgical approach with a penile implant.

You’re absolutely the best!!! Your advice to me was even better and so far I am very very happy with my implant thanks to you.
If I had waited a year, I would have cried and thanks to you I did not cry at all.
Glad to hear it!
@@DrPaulPerito do you do complex penile implants like implant+plication or implant+grafting?
@@DrPaulPerito Hello Dr,I got a 3 piece implant recently, the surgeon said one of my corpus cavernosa was longer than the other.I now have one side where the cylinder is kinked/bunched up, my penis has a lump at that point and it also bent because of it. Could this have been avoided at the start? Can it be fixed?
@Khan We're the #1 penile implant facility in the world for good reason and performed over 500 successful penile implant surgeries each year. Please contact us at peritourology.com to get more information about your specific situation.
@michaelcmllr - it may have been implanted by a less skilled surgeon, but it may have been a pre-existing condition. I would recommend checking to see if your surgeon was board-certified and if they had a lot of experience with the procedure. Feel free to contact us at peritourology.com or check to see if there's a board certified surgeon on their team.
Informative and well done as usual Dr. Perito!!
Glad it was helpful!
I am honored that you read my story. My first step is going to take care of the BPH with green light. At some point, I assume after the operation and while I’m still under anesthesia, the surgeon will inject and create an erection to measure the degree of curvature. He will then discuss his findings and give his recommendation going forward. My guess is the implants will be the choice. I will be happy to report back to you. And thank you for making #63 about me. 🙋♂️👍
Thank you for sharing your story!

Will the "scratch procedure" done for peyronies patients with hourglass deformities disable the remaining corpora? Thanks, DJ
what about people in their 20's who have peyronie's?
Anyone experiencing Peyronie's, regardless of their age, should seek treatment and evaluation from a urologist.
Do patient have good erection as before after peyronies disease surgery?
That depends entirely on the procedure... procedures are designed to maintain potency, but do also carry risk. For more info, contact us at peritourology.com.
