thats a really impressive looking chassis - they have really nailed the performance to price ratio and are showing the bigger players how to do it well!
The issues are minor, but nice of James to cover them at the end, always good to hear what they didnt quite get right. Looks to be definitely in the top 3 cases of 2024
Montech just can't miss everything they have come out with is either really good or great, the best part about that company they produce quality products for very affordable prices.
One of the most perfect cases that he's ever seen and it's £75? That's crazy good value. I've seen James take apart so many cases costing 2x as much, this sounds like a bargain. Maybe if they fix the 3 cons it will be perfect?
I come back from lunch to see a new KitGuru review; excellent! I purchased the King 95 Pro (in red) in large part thanks to your review and have been very pleased with it so I was most interested in your views of the 65 Pro. Cracking job. Shame about the lack of BTF support. One thing I didn't hear you mention early on is that the King 95 Pro comes with an extra three RGB fans in the bottom. The 95 Pro costs £115, only £40 more than the 65 Pro, so the 65 Pro doesn't seem such good value by comparison - if you can afford the 95 Pro. And with the 95 Pro you get the three bottom fans, the alternate front panel, and the curved glass. And red and blue options. All for £40 more. But if you can't afford the 95 Pro then for £75 the 65 Pro looks really good. I do dislike the bottom dust filter on the 65 Pro (and the 95 Pro): as a full-length filter it should be removable from the front. BTW is this the King 65 Pro or the King 65 Ultra? The article on your website mixes the two.
I just completed a 9950x, MSI X870e Carbon wifi mb and sapphire nitro + rx 7900 xtx build in the King 95 Pro case and love it. Looks absolutely amazing and the dual chamber provides plenty of room for cables. Only shortcoming for me is it lacks compatibility with iCUE or MSI RGB software controller for their fans. Building another pc and the King 65 is definitely on the short list since it's big brother build went so well!
King 95 was epic, this is more of the same just a more viable form factor for a lot of people. clever tooling too to keep down costs and make sure they can include some quality fans without hitting the price too hard.
Even the color matching is very good - fans included - glass, cools well, decent materials with little flex - how can they do this for £75 and Corsair struggle to do that at £200!
The Montech King 65 Pro seems to embrace a subtle evolution rather than a complete overhaul. Dropping the curve in favor of clean lines and angles, it feels like a conscious decision to go back to the essentials of performance and airflow. I find it intriguing how Montech managed to keep the core elements intact while subtly refining the aesthetic and structural details. Do you think there’s a silent elegance to cases like this, where the focus shifts from bold design to practical refinements? The balance between beauty and functionality is always interesting in tech products like this.
It's definitely a subtle evolution, the core chassis is identical to the King 95. This is more about simplicity and value but it still has all the hardware and cooling support of the King 95.
The King 95 was a winner, good to see the heritage and design ethic has been passed down to this smaller cheaper version. With those fans at 75 its hard to know it, although GN did (not a shock)
Thanks James balanced review and fair, I think the 95 makes more sense for me as its a bit bigger inside which I always like, but this is a good case overall
Clearly the value proposition is very good. Still I'm super fatigued from all the aquarium cases being released, it's just not for me. I'd take the Lancool 207 over this at the same price.
To support back-connect Montech would have had to re-tool and the case wouldn't have been £75 any more. I still think back-connect is a solution looking for a problem and a fad that will die sooner rather than later. Those two black cables and not using or including a perforated steel rather than glass front panel are the only niggles as far as I'm concerned, and I think they are easily addressed oversights. I like the frames of Montech fans; so I won't even make my usual whinge about only a 120mm in the rear! I don't particularly like that it is just another box though.😡That is a step backwards! Good work as usual, James. 👍
Montech king 65 pro have grommets for top and bottom on their website for that case. It might just be reviewers that got cases with not grommets for top and bottom.
Thermal performance seems pretty good, I dont understand why such huge differences between KG and GN on this one. very confusing as I love both sites. US price seems higher to me than UK??
I watched the GN video and was surprised - seems he had some damage on his, and rated it badly. Thermal performance is very good for the money - no point comparing it to cases much dearer
Why dosent they add rubber grommets to the cut outs that just such a shame on a good case. It's just for me a deal breaker. Need one to go to lianli again för next build. With grommets it would have been perfect. And one more thing does it come with a rgb hub or not?
Can anyone help me? I have a budget of £85 for a new case - For the price I dont see anything better than this King 65 - anyone got anything else I should be looking at for the same money?
Lian Li Lancool 207 is great if you don't need dual chamber and it's the same price as the King 65. But if you want a dual chamber case that includes fans, ARGB PWM fan hub, good build quality and hardware support the King 65 is your best bet for under £80.
it's not often i see kitgurutech & gamers nexus have such wildly different opinions about a case, in particular the completely opposite conclusions about thermal performance - where this case was at the bottom of multiple gn charts, and had a few build quality issues as well. strange.
The thing is I’ve seen Steve give positive review to the Hyte Y60, but thermal performance is within a couple of degrees C of the King 65, but the Y60 is more than twice as much to buy as this case. Looking into it. This case is £75 in uk but it’s 100 dollars in USA. I can’t see any issues with this case for such a low price in uk. James did mention some possible room for improvements at the end but I would agree with him. James even showed the flex in video and it seems well within acceptable for the low price. Certainly not as bad as the hyte was.
The King 65 seems to be better value in the UK compared with US pricing which is odd. Build quality is excellent, we had no problem with the bent steel at the top of the front glass like GN did. Panel alignment is perfect and the white is a great match between different materials. The included fans may be a little less powerful compared to the King 95 fans but thermal performance is better than some other dual chamber cases that we have tested using similar hardware. For £75 with excellent build quality, ease of use, good hardware and cooling support, three included fans and a 6 port AEGB PWM fan hub it's great value. It's a King 95 with square panels so if you are a fan of the King 95 but want a more subtle look it's ideal, plus it's more than half the price of some of the competition. What's not to like? 👍
Steve is way off the mark. I don’t know what on earth he wants for £75. It’s just negativity sells. It’s the whole motto of his channel. And if you are saying he is right then look at the hyte 60 review. That case is twice the price and only has moderately better thermals and much worse build quality. I am pretty sure gn case was damaged in shipping as well.
@@inlovewithmycar7085 i definitely wasn't saying "steve is right." i do think, as alluded to above, that his review was at least partially based on the case being more expensive in the US - making it worse value compared to other regional pricing. that price difference puts the king 65 against a different tier of cases, and at least marginally hurts its value proposition. as far as the bent corner gn experienced - if it was shipping damage, it would be strange for them to receive two cases with identical bends as they did. assuming it was shipping damage, packaging might be an area montech could look to improve upon to minimize that possibility. definitely some unknown factors there, so hard for me to speculate, of course. personally, i do like the case and would have no problem recommending it (depending on price). i hope you & your car have a good week!
@@KitGuruTech i feel like this is a great example why it's so important to watch multiple reviews from different sources - had i only watched the gn review, i likely would have been left with a more negative opinion on this case. hopefully montech can get the price down a bit on the king 65 for those of us across the pond from you - but that might not be feasible depending on shipping, tariffs, etc. thanks so much for your response and consistently excellent, honest reviews. i certainly appreciate all the hard work the entire kitguru team puts into each video.
If you see spam report it please - we try and get as much as possible. Also let us know what you think of this new Montech case in the comments !
It’s great I think for the price
thats a really impressive looking chassis - they have really nailed the performance to price ratio and are showing the bigger players how to do it well!
Wow MONTECH is killing with this King 65🎉
I like the case. It’s only £75 in uk. Amazing price for what you get
Really impressed with that. Montech have been delivering now for the last year at the top level
Good case !
The issues are minor, but nice of James to cover them at the end, always good to hear what they didnt quite get right. Looks to be definitely in the top 3 cases of 2024
Montech are great, love my King 95- best case I have owned
Its a decent case for the money
What features does it have that the 65 doesn't? Curious to know if getting the 95 would be worth it for me 😅
Making some great cases for the last 2 years. Such good value for money. 💯
Its rare to see a case that balances price and performance so well 🤩
Agreed but I wish the bottom fan bracket was removable.. still a great case!
It's well priced without being cheap but it's got a lot of competition.
Really put a lot of thought into this, unlike some other companies right now
Thanks Kitguru - its making my shortlist for the end of the year, no question about that
I did not realize the 140 fans were reverse flow fans so i flipped them. Now i need to go back in and flip them back. Thanks for your video!
excellent bit of work from montech, the 95 was a stellar chassis, this looks to be using the same core principles.
I love Montech, had great success with their products so far
Great review james!! Looks great and the ARGB fan hub is a nice bonus at this price ❤
Amazing value on this one !
Their fans are really good too - not the best, but really worth using and dont need replaced.
Montech just can't miss everything they have come out with is either really good or great, the best part about that company they produce quality products for very affordable prices.
Couldn't agree more!
Montech - King of Cases !
Almost a perfect score, wow james isnt easy to please either, awesome stuff
Montech knocking out some really competitive and decent cases
that looks great ! such a good company now. really are releasing so many quality products.
Thanks for the closing thoughts and what they can improve, very fair
looks great, love this company
Awesome review, and even better case
Great review James, as always, truly excellent!

Fair review and I agree even with a few shortcomings for the price of between 70 and 75 it’s great value.
Good review James, thanks for the efforts
My pleasure!
excellent job. hard to believe they can make any money on that for the price, even including good fans
very well put together, quality products - hard to knock them, that price point is really so competitive.
Had to do a double take when I saw the price! Its pretty good value for money.
@@festerleech4952 You can see where they have cut costs such as the lack of removable dust filters which is kind of a pain in the backside.
Thanks for the indepth testing James, i dont get why GN tested a case with damage from shipping
That build looked super. hard to find any negatives with that for 75 quid
Looks amazing - very impressed
they deserve a little crowd wave for this one 😮

This is the King 65 Pro.
Most impressive case I've ever known especially considering the relatively low price.
Montech are great - I was a big fan of their 95 king pro as well, this one seems to perform well for the price
Really good value 👌🏻

👍🏻

Internal dimensions of the King 95 and King 65 are identical. Only real differences are the curved glass and the side/top panels. 👍
Mountain king of the north! Free cable management all the way to the top! Hail to the king, baby! cheers.
Love it! going to order one
I personally like that the shape of the included fans is nicer than on the 95 pro
Great case. Some package for the price
It sure is!
Super chassis. I like it a lot
👍🏻
Killer - 360mm radiator at the top as well !
Great review
Thank you
Hard to beat that price ppoint
Airflow is good too - has to be one of the best cases I have seen this year
Its got really good airflow this one.
Clearly the value proposition is very good. Still I'm super fatigued from all the aquarium cases being released, it's just not for me.
I'd take the Lancool 207 over this at the same price.
Balanced and thoughtful analysis without trying to jump on the hits algorithm. At the price point in uk seems solid. Why is the us price higher ?😮
£75, Montech really has impressed here. Agreed on the hinged fans, would be nice to test with a mesh front. Maybe as an add on, or alternative SKU.
I like that motherboard and GPU - looks good in the case.
Looks like its really very well made overall. Not sure I would want it, prefer the 95 version but its going to sell well at that price
To support back-connect Montech would have had to re-tool and the case wouldn't have been £75 any more. Looks lovely. I dont think the square glass front is quite as appealing as the curved edges but its still very well made
Agree prefer the curved edges the square glass is a bit run of the mill but at that price...
Loads of space inside this one should make doing a build nice and easy.
Thats a really nice clean looking case.
Their curvy one is nicer
Hey, the Montech HS01 isn't out yet! That might be another candidate for the best budget case this year :D
Good
Show ! Fans must be worth £20 at least.
Gives you an idea of what good fans really cost to make!!
@@PCPro2017 Yeah and 20 quid is middle range pricing for fans now!
More like 40 quid!

Please montech make a king 45 Matx version
I'd like to see that too.
But with the curved panels not the square ones.
Good
Is this out now in the UK? cant find it on ebuyer
It’s on scan
I watched the GN video and was surprised - seems he had some damage on his, and rated it badly. Thermal performance is very good for the money - no point comparing it to cases much dearer
I wouldn’t use this case unless it could be fitted with a front mesh front - maybe an optional extra sometime in the future
It would be good to see Montech offer the mesh front version, or as an optional extra.
This or the Montech Sky Two GX?
Better than the lian li vision compact?
I've not reviewed that one yet. Maybe soon.😊
This or sky two?
No flex either - thats how you do it, surprising how many parts of the case they got right for the limited price point
same it doesnt support project zero boards, as I just bought one, does the king 95? struggling to find that info out
No, the King 95 doesn't support back connect motherboards either.
They seem to make very good cases for very little money
Yes they do
Not for me, but you can't knock montech, they came into this industry in the right way and keep releasing great chassis designs
Why dosent they add rubber grommets to the cut outs that just such a shame on a good case. It's just for me a deal breaker. Need one to go to lianli again för next build.
With grommets it would have been perfect. And one more thing does it come with a rgb hub or not?
Horizontal GPU only is a shame. Can you get brackets from them to allow for a vertical GPU?
You could possibly use something like this: amzn.eu/d/ij0kzCn
@@KitGuruTech That would do the job but it costs more than half the case!
Imagine paying double for the Corsair case in the same Sector
King 95 Mega pro when?
Your guess is as good as mine 😊
I prefer the hyte to the king
The color matching is really good, my own white case is very poor in regards to this, and some of the panel gaps are tesla level garbage
😬
montech are great in this sector, never perfect - but they are so inexpensive
At this price it is a steal. Too bad there is a price inflation of about 25-30% for montech cases for the EU countries.

How does that price compare to something like the Antec C8 ? I feel like the UK is getting better value from Montech than some other regions maybe.
