I have this meter & aside from the extremely laggy continuity setting,this meter is a very good quality meter & I have tested the inrush feature & it is very fast & accurate,if I need continuity,I would rather use my UT89X anyway,the continuity function on that meter is very fast.Great review mate,very comprehensive.👍⚡
The only issue I have with the inrush function is that there is no specification for it within the manual. Ultimately the meter is aimed at electrical use, so whilst the continuity function is slow, it isn't too bad for electrical circuits. Thanks for watching and commenting.
No in the low DC Amps test, I didn't zero the instrument and that would have skewed the results by the offset you can see. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Not wanting to sound critical but you didn't appear to have zeroed the meter in situ as per instructions before testing the DC current measurement which would affect the accuracy of the readings. I have the uni-t201e as a kick around and find it pretty much in line with my fluke.
Certainly on the low amp DC tests it would have made a difference and would have brought the readings back into tolerance. I probably didn't zero it, so it is a good catch. Even if I had, taking away the residual on the display, puts the readings back in spec.
Thank You for nice review and series of tests. I am interested in buying this model because of both AC/DC measure by clamp (for hobby purposes). I've read opinions that : - "continuity" function doesn't work well - true, it's shown on Your review - some measurements have slow response (auto switching scale) - according to Your review its not bad at all - backlight is annoying - true that - it's really annoying. It should have "always on" function... Maybe I am too much demanding, but it would be nice to have some kind of stand on the back, like multimeters. Best regards!
The 208B appears to be aimed towards more professional use than the 216C is, but I have not tested the 208B. It has a few more features an industrial electrician would find beneficial and of course can measure a higher current than the 216C. For more DIY use I would stick with the 216C unless you can get the 208B for a better price.
PS I don't think the probemaster leads are any better or worse than any other leads,I use the UT L16's with my 216C & thry are probably the best leads I have ever used.
The Probemaster leads are good quality and ergonomic and come with some useful attachments. It depends on whether or not you value the gold plating. I do not have a set of the UT UL16, so cannot comment directly on them, but I would imagine they are fine for general meter use.
Yeah the L16's are silicone rubber using 16 AWG leads & the probes are good quality with a really nice smooth waxy feel,I'm a HV Electrician & I use them at work.Btw the inrush feature is very fast & very accurate,also regarding the continuity test,in my manual it says the audible buzzer will not sound for anything 30 Ohms or below, that's why it is so laggy,not the best idea they've ever had,because most people are just going to think that it is just a very poorly designed continuity setting,but there you have it.
@@danielelise7348 I have had a look at my other Uni-T meters and it doesn't look like any of them come with the L16 leads. The UT196 I have probably have something similar, which are actually quite nice leads. Looks like I would have to buy L16 leads direct from China, so would take a while for me to get. Yes the buzzer only sounds when the resistance is below 30 Ohms. As an electrician I have never really needed a fast continuity function, but that is just me.

Yes, I know there is such a function on this device. I just wonder if the values he shows are close to reality or not. I have to choose a generator for the water pump and I do not know if this device is suitable for measuring its starting current.
@@JakisKtos2745 Unfortunately, I cannot find the figures from when I tested it. I would expect it to be within 10% of the actual value. If you already have the UT216C, then it should be fine. However, if you are buying this specifically for the inrush function, then it may be better to look at another clamp that details the actual specification.
Alway's interesting to look at other meters although it doesn't please my wife when she catches me watching another one of these! Not clamp meter related, but would you be interested in making a vid to look at the analogue meter in the leather case I sometimes see sneaking into shot on some of your other vids?
Well I would argue watching is better than buying! Its not hard to imagine the eye rolls I get when another meter sized box arrives from Amazon! I think the meter you are on about is a safety ohmmeter I purchased to add to my old tester collection. I am trying to find out a bit more about its use, but sure I can do a video on it at a later date.

When doing the DC current tests, didn't see you zero'ing the meter prior to each test...

Very good review. Seems like a decent hobby and homeowner meter. The backlight timer does look annoying. I wish more meters had a constant backlight.
