Recommendation if you want a long series: The Wheel of Time. 15 books, similar world building to LOTR, a "magic" system like Star Wars, a lot of characters from all kind of races. By far my favourite series ever.
Okay so we got day 17, 18 and 19 for the questions, but am I being blind or didn’t he also miss it on ginge’s channel on day 14? Ig that will come at some point if that’s the case tho
If you love Fantasy you have to try any of Brandon Sanderson's work. I would recommend either The Stormlight Archive (The Way of Kings is book 1) or Mistborn (The Final Empire is book 1) to start off but he has so many greats novels, its easy to get sucked in.
Book Recommendations from a big Sci-Fi & Fantasy Addict: 1. The Expanse (worlds better than the TV show) 2. Mistborn 1st Era 3. The Assassin's Apprentice (book 1 in a giant series that is amazing) 4. Dresden Files 5. Hyperion (one of the most amazingly written books I've ever read, and super deep philosophies)
This might be a surprising one, but the archers apprentice. Its a bit like Harry Potter that eventhough obviously is a bit of a childsbook it is also well written and enjoyable to read
Im reading the second of a duology by Elizabeth Lim and now she's one of my favourite authors. Six Crimson Cranes is the 1st book and Dragons promise is the 2nd. I recommend it to everyone and Garth Nix's Lost kingdom series is brilliant.
Was there defo a question on day 14 ginges channel cuz I’ve watched it a few times and can’t find it. Wanna make sure I’m not being stupid so is there a question on there?
I read Moby-Dick this year. Not really fantasy but great world building (and different time period). As a book to fall asleep to… it’s one of the best around!
Magician by Raymond E Feist. He started the series about 30 years ago I wanna say. Absolutely captivated by the works he's produced. It's a more traditional fantasy style series.
The blade itself (and subsequent books) by Joe Abercrombie is a class series of books. Sword and sorcery type massive world lots of storylines and lots of books to keep you occupied mate 👍
The Metro series is amazing, post nuclear war russia etc. the games are based on the Books. If u like Star Wars the Heir to the Empire novels or Republic Commando novels are great aswell
The Commonwealth Saga by Peter Hamilton leading onto the Void trilogy is top, top quality. Also the four books of the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons. Sci Fi at it's best.
this is just an out there suggestion but i found this novel on the internet called LORD OF THE MYSTERIES. It s written by a chinese dude so might no be your cup of tea but world building is one of the best i ever read in a fantasy novel
Book-rec : It's not a fantasy book but as a fantasy reader myself I quite liked it anyway, Whispering Shadows by Jan-Philipp Sendker. Amazing. Edit: It's fantasy as in it's completely made up, however there are no dragons and sci-fi like gimmicks
Not exactly Fantasy, but a real good faced paced action are books from Matthew Reilly. Start with Ice Station then proceed from there through the Scarecrow arc.
Andy if you want a good book, where you get immersed in the absolutely wild world building... May I suggest something a little wild, and arguably not as booky as you'd normally like. Try reading one piece, it is genuinely up there with the best worldly built stories ever created and there is so much of it to digest it'll be definitely worth your time.
Sci-fi Fantasy: The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey. It's A LOT of books (9 in total), but it's a good one. Also, The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin.
I have an idea, for the 24th and 25th Dec episodes of SBSD, instead of discards. Every goal scored/conceded, 50 pounds is donated to the Tackle charity
Hi Andy, loving the vids! I recommend the 'three body problem' trilogy, more of a sci-fi than fantasy but if you're enjoying the Dune books this should be up your alley!
Did you read Percy Jackson? I think it's a beautiful series by Rick Riordan and you'd have 11 books to go through at the moment with 2 more coming out. I can't recommend the Apollo series though. You can also always read the Hunger Games which is way better than the movies. There is also an un-official 'James Potter' series. It's not canon but was recognized by JK Rowling. It isn't about Harry's dad but his son.
The warlord chronicles or the last kingdom serie by Bernard Cornwell Ken Follet and the kingsbridge serie is lovely. Both are not futuristic but historical fiction based on true events. Even if you have seen the Last Kingdom the books are so different, so it is not repetitive.
Hey Andy, I am currently reading a book series by the name of His Dark Materials. It is a dark fantasy book that dives into the Magesterium and how it tries to take over the world. I would highly recommend it.
If you're looking for book recommendations and as you said you like fantasy, then I'd suggest The Wheel Of Time. They're long, and lots of them but it is a really good book series and if you're willing to put the time into it then you'll enjoy it. If you decide to read it just don't let the ending of book one put you off. Way to put it is, if you liked the Lord Of The Rings books, you'll like this as it's the same genre
Get the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, quality books and there is loads of them too. Now with a Prime Video series on it too with Season 2 just come out
If you havent read it already Andy, I recommend a classic in Isaac Asimov's Foundation series or to start getting into Warhammer with the Horus Heresy series of books.
Thanks for covering days 17 and 18 Andy. Where’s 14? On Ginge’s channel
Missing, like his dad 😂
SBSD advent calendar sets off such an SBSD addiction in me I was here refreshing the page waiting for this to drop
I’d expect such a caliber of a player against Itani 😂 otherwise brave of you to pull it out pretty early in the advent .
Early? Mate there's only a few days left lmao
My man is out here celebrating Christmas in January
@@jdenton1337 well I guess you’re right, maybe I rather meant to say I didn’t expect Kirbz to be the guest for such a player . No offence to him.😂
Andy thanks for addressing day 17,18 is the day 14 question with angry ginge in a different video?
You just can't get tired of sbsd. Goated series
got recommended ur videos recently and have been loving them! thank u for this advent series. its been a blast checking in each time
Welcome to the best community. Been part of my daily routine since 2015.
Yep, still missing 14
I appear to be missing 16 as well as 14, anyone know the question for day 16?
@@JayDepravo it's after the discards on that video, but i'll be nice lol, the day 16 question was: "which player did Andy guess for Tekkz in day 15?"
@@Mile_Noukin what was the question for day 15? Swear ive already watched the video twice
@@carlossilva2159 what year did Tekkz win E-Prem?
The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson is class. Honestly anything by him is unbelievable
And the world building and magic systems are unreal in all of the cosmere
the stormlight archives are great aswell
If you love Fantasy you have to try any of Brandon Sanderson's work. I would recommend either The Stormlight Archive (The Way of Kings is book 1) or Mistborn (The Final Empire is book 1) to start off but he has so many greats novels, its easy to get sucked in.
You still haven’t address Ginge editing out the question from day 14
Bless Andy showing his passion about reading books and Kirbz doesn’t care one bit 😂😂
Love the Raymond Feist books, Andy. Start with Magician and go from there. Silverthorn and Darkness At Sethanon follow on from that if you enjoy it.
The stormlight archives are some of the best books I've ever read, would highly recommend
Book Recommendations from a big Sci-Fi & Fantasy Addict:
1. The Expanse (worlds better than the TV show)
2. Mistborn 1st Era
3. The Assassin's Apprentice (book 1 in a giant series that is amazing)
4. Dresden Files
5. Hyperion (one of the most amazingly written books I've ever read, and super deep philosophies)
Mistborn, followed by Stormlight
Agreed, I just feel like Stormlight takes more effort to get into, we get him to read Mistborn to get him hooked!@@kingelm9783
I think you'd enjoy Babel by RF Kuang. Great storytelling with good writing too
The inheritance cycle is one of my favourites
Just a shame the audiobook makes the dragons sound like they have severe bronchitis.
There is still one question missing from day 14 that apparantly Angry Ginge did't incuded in his video
I only have 15
Yeah after today's question I've still only got 18
@@claretadam92 I got 18 now
Day 14 is the only quiz question missing now…🤦🏼♂️🙄
This might be a surprising one, but the archers apprentice. Its a bit like Harry Potter that eventhough obviously is a bit of a childsbook it is also well written and enjoyable to read
Love the vids❤ btw did andy ask the question for day 14
Andy! You should get into Brendon Sanderson's Cosmere. Its an entire universe of books, Start off with Mistborn and go from there!
Book Recommendation!!
Roadside Picnic by Strugatsky Brothers
One of the best fiction books I’ve ever read
I'd recommend the Wheel of Time and/or The Dresden Files for fantasy.
There isn’t a question in there, I’m sure Andy would have addressed it in a differed video
The question from ginges vid is missing btw Andy 34:51
I loved Dune and I haven't read thd book, really looking forward to part 2
brandon sanderson, the stormlight archives, incredible books with amazing world building
I read Moby-Dick this year. Not really fantasy but great world building (and different time period). As a book to fall asleep to… it’s one of the best around!
Andy! Please do an episode with the end to end camera angle! It would make my Christmas!
Magician by Raymond E Feist. He started the series about 30 years ago I wanna say. Absolutely captivated by the works he's produced. It's a more traditional fantasy style series.
The books that the Witcher games are based on are fantastic.
It’s so ironic Kirbz talking about De Gea’s distribution considering how bad Onana was at distributing the ball against Liverpool
Kirbz laughing at richarlison when he has more premier league goals than hojlund rashford and Anthony combined is mad
Day 14 is still missing correct ?
Ginge’s channel
Andy, you also missed the question on angryginge's episode.
Still missing day 14 question
The blade itself (and subsequent books) by Joe Abercrombie is a class series of books. Sword and sorcery type massive world lots of storylines and lots of books to keep you occupied mate 👍

The Commonwealth Saga by Peter Hamilton leading onto the Void trilogy is top, top quality.
Also the four books of the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons.
Sci Fi at it's best.
Andy, please read the Stormlight Archive. Brandon Sanderson is currently the best fantasy writers around atm.
this is just an out there suggestion but i found this novel on the internet called LORD OF THE MYSTERIES.
It s written by a chinese dude so might no be your cup of tea but world building is one of the best i ever read in a fantasy novel
The sword of truth series Andy!!! One of the best fantasy book series ever.
Best book I’ve ever read is Logic’s book ‘Supermarket’. It’s that good I’ve read it about 10 times now, and each time I still enjoy the read.
The ranger's apprentice series is quite good, the first couple are more aimed at teens, but the more read the book's audience matures
Facts, it's one of my favorites
I'll always forget it's SBSD during the initial waffling lmao, it's just podcast vibes
Not exactly Fantasy, but a real good faced paced action are books from Matthew Reilly. Start with Ice Station then proceed from there through the Scarecrow arc.

Andy: don’t go on ur phone at night
Me watching this vid at 12am asf
Shayne silvers templeverse series is really good urban fantasy with lots of books, and mythology involved.
When you were talking about giving Kirbz a right back there was a 56 rated rb called robertson which you could’ve given him for laughs 😂
Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop is great to read. Also - Game of Thrones is the name of ONE book. A Song of Ice and Fire is the name of series.
When he said that he saw a meme about going on your phone when you can’t sleep I’m doing that right now lol it’s 1:00 AM 😂
Sci-fi Fantasy: The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey. It's A LOT of books (9 in total), but it's a good one.
Also, The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin.

Read SHOGUN by James Clavell. Its a Japanese historical fiction book.
Fourth wing and Iron Flame are great fantasy novels.

Ken Follet and the kingsbridge serie is lovely. Both are not futuristic but historical fiction based on true events. Even if you have seen the Last Kingdom the books are so different, so it is not repetitive.
The Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini is my all time favourite Fantasy book series
Kirbz with the friendly fire on Itani with the short joke ahaha
RF Kuang - The Poppy Wars, class fantasy book and series set in 'medival' china
Give Blood Meridian - bit of a tough read at times but Cormack McCarthy is a genius when it comes to symbolism and portraying the American West
Imagining Andy sitting next to his wife talking to her about Harry Kane’s playstyle plus is very funny to me
Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is class!
I love the Red Rising serie!!! I couldnt believe i heard it name dropped in a squad builder showdown
Hey Andy, I am currently reading a book series by the name of His Dark Materials. It is a dark fantasy book that dives into the Magesterium and how it tries to take over the world. I would highly recommend it.
