Yeah, now I see that she was ALWAYS flawless o.O. No matter if she is 30 or 60, always PERFECT! One of the best actress (and person) of the world. You gotta love Mary McDonnell.
You all probably dont care at all but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Deandre Dario i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I can't say it for Mary where she got her always flawless way to speak but I bet it's pretty current coming from the actors who have made a big part of their carreer in plays, in Broadway or elsewhere... They have a lot of diction lessons to learn speak clearly and be understandable by everyone in the public...
not for nothing but Regis and Kathy love to here themselves and cut her off all the time. I want to here from her not from them. Its annoying and she was very graceful about being annoyed lol.
Her hair! That was the only thing in the movie that really bugged me. Why wasn't her hair long and in braids like the other women in the tribe? Why would it be treated any different and have different lengths, even if it was curly? It stood out as a flaw to me.
I'm not a fan. I don't follow her work and don't really recall anything else that I've seen her in, in particular. But her portrayal of Stands with a Fist was incredible. I watched this movie numerous times. I hate to take anything away from the other actors in this by praising Mary too much, but when she was on screen... she stole my attention each and every time. I watch a lot of movies closely, and am usually not impressed very often. Mary, however, in this role, made you feel the pain and despair of her past and then the hope of her future. Simply an amazing standout performance in the midst of so many amazing performances by everybody else in this classic.

Its so wonderful to hear how politically incorrect our speech was back in those days of freedom of speech. Everyone didn't get but hurt every time someone said something about anything back then. I loved my country back then, today it is but a self destructive cesspool.
2:50 ok boomer. taught to hate natives? yep yer old. Cause NOT REALLY calvary was usually a bunch of a-holes from the old B+W rerun shows i watched that you probably watched when they were new.
She’s so soft spoken and sweet💖
She's still just as beautiful at 68 in 2020.
She is still at 71 in 2023.

She is beautiful.
Anyone have any photos of Mary when she was in her early 20's??

Costner was right......he wanted a woman and sure got one! Mary is so beautiful and she really made her character come alive.
Oh God look at her hair!! ~but still adorable
The hair is great. Not over done.
Thank you SO much for sharing. Such a sweet and serene interview. I miss the days...

Tiffany French 😂 Americans suck at interviews, and I don't know why.
سرکارخانم مری مک دانل ، به پاس یک عمر فعالیت هنری شما درعرصه سینمای ملل ، سپاس .
Costner films always top shelf... Stands with a Fist and Dances with Wolves...were superior in this movie...
@1TheSocraticMethod1 I know! they keep interrupting her! Shut up and let our girl speak!

She was in The Closer and lead actress in it's spin off, Major Crimes for almost 10 years. She is also a very accomplished theatre actress.
She is incredible in Major Crimes, which I, recently, binge watched.
Now I've got to watch Dances, Hostiles & Last Of The Mohicans again after seeing this
Holy crap! she's so young! looks completely different then she does now XD
Thanks for uploading this :D
Captain Rayder from "The Closer".
I can't remember what year Dances With Wolves came out. I guess I could look it up...duh...
1990

So strange to hear Indian and not Native American.

@1TheSocraticMethod1 meh...they're kitchy; the essence of anti-vogue; that was / is the secret of their appeal.
She's prettier now...
