  • I found what looks to be the identical item on Amazon but with a different Chinese brand name for $139, only $10 more than on Ali when there's no sale. The Amazon link is an affiliate link.

    Good review. I have just started looking at this model. I liked the fact that you checked time to temp and stability. Thanks

    Great video Chuck. I have a smaller one from Harbor Freight. It works fine for my needs. This ultrasonic cleaner that you are reviewing could clean up a lot more around my house. I may look into it when I tackle cleaning the garage again!...LOL

      We've got three of them now. A very small one I got my wife years ago for rings and similar things, then a year ago she wanted a better one so I got her a slightly bigger stainless steel one. She gave me the original one and after using it a few times I thought "OK, I've got to have a big one of these!".

    Chuck, Nice large ultrasonic cleaner. You can use it to clean your SLA prints. I’d put water in the main tub and then put items you want to wash in a beaker containing the cleaning solvent like IPA. That way you don’t need as much solvent to clean the part. Be careful though, you may have to weigh down the beaker to keep it from tipping over.

    Hey Chuck, UA-cam for some reason it's notifying me when you post new videos. I've got the Notify all bell checked.

    For the money, these work ok. I saw a 15L on eBay for $124 and was close to purchasing it, but need to get rid of some things and make room for it first.

      That's a good price for a 15L model, which is probably really about 12L. The one I bought, despite not holding as much as they said it does, is still big enough for my needs. I'm glad I didn't get the 6L, which is what I was orignally thinking.

      I've never done it but I know that they are used for that. From what I've read there's a special additive you add to distilled water and a proper heat range. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to use it with circuit boards, but I'd probably start on something fairly cheap to replace and I doubt I'd leave it in more than 5 minutes. That should be more than enough to knock all the dirt loose from it. And if I wanted to put it right back in service I'd probably hose it down with a good water displacer spray after blow drying.

      Mine still works fine. Or at least as good as it did when new.

    The 10 litres is probably the volume of the whole cleaner. Just like Chinese wattage is consumption not output

      Yea, just like those 999,999 mAh 18650 batteries. Caveat Emptor is the rule of the day when buying from anyone, but specially the Chinese since they seem to have no boundaries on their lavish claims.

    I'm really confused. Isn't the whole point to ultrasonic cleaning that you don't need to use cleaning solution? The cavitation is what's loosening the dirt. Yet you're adding cleaner to the items inside the plastic bag.
    Also confused why your Amazon link leads to someone spouting off opinions of the movie Highlander.

      The whole point of ultrasonic cleaning, at least to me, is that it reaches into cavities where other methods won't and it's super fast. I never thought it was about not using cleaning fluid except on jewelry. I put watch bracelets in with just straight water and it works well. But for something like a carb that's been sitting with varnish in it for years or something that has a decade of rust or packed on grease? Some type of cleaning fluid is going to make a big difference even if it's just dish detergent. As far as the bag or a jar, that's just to keep me from having to clean up the inside of the tank every time.
      Not sure about the link, I'll check it out now. Thanks for letting me know!

    You need to turn the heater on before it will work

    • @3rdpig
      @3rdpig  2 роки тому +1

      You can clearly see 10:03 I turned the heater on, it beeped, the light came on and the "current temp" number started flashing. Or did you mean I have to turn the transducer on before it will heat? If so, at 11:10 I mentioned that as well.
