- Thousands gathered outside the Raj Bhawan in Mizoram capital Aizawl to take part in the sit-in demonstration calling for the ouster of the Chief Electoral Officer SB Shashank.
The protests were being led by the influential Young Mizo Association and other civil society groups.
If i will have to respect any tribes among thousands of tribes..Thn i'll choose MIZO tribe to respect and to be respected cuz they are simply #UNIQUE#UNITED#DYNAMIC#PHENOMENAL❤🙏💪🖐☝️🤝👌 Mizos are always unstoppable, inseparable, together they are just like" Individually, Mizos are ONE drop. Some of our brothers and sisters may misunderstood why we protest.. what we want is not just #shashankout from Mizoram.. we do not want Shashank out for no reason.. He is taking steps favouring the Brus who left Mizoram and refuse to come back. He tried to help them casting vote in their present location i.e Tripura which was against the agreement signed by the Government of Mizoram, Govt of tripura, Election commission of India and the Bru's representative..(it was written in the agreement that the all the bru should return to Mizoram to cast thei vote in 2018 ,which if they failed will not be able to cast vote) we want the #ECIIndia to conduct the upcoming election fair and we want them to stand on the agreement signed in 2013. There is no problem with us that bru casting their vote inside Mizoram abut strongly against favouring them and letting them cast their vote outside Mizoram. What is the point of electing MLA for the state which you're not even living in!? Why do all the Mizo people the rightful owner of the land living in distant place have to fly overseas to cast their vote while the Bru (tuikuk) people were allowed to cast vote in their respective place. ?? That is what we do not understand and strongly stand against... UNITED...

If the Central government allowed The brus to conduct their vote from outside of the STATE Tripura.. The central should also allowed to conduct the Mizo's people who were staying outside Mizoram... CEO Shashank gave false information to the Central to transfer a True and Good Mizo IAS Senior Officer Lalnunmawia Chuaungo and he had been transfered immediately the next day, we want Justice for him. This is the BJP playing politics with Mizo people. They were certain the brus will vote for them. So they offer to let them cast their vote from another state. Such a consideration! If anyone wants to vote, one must come back to their own polling station. Thats the rule.
