I'm not even into football at all but when I watched about this player I was amazed. That dedication, passion, all the sacrifice and discipline is just insane but also incredible and sooo inspiring. Is just a superhuman. Amazing 👏👏

Haaland reached 36 km/h
For context, Usain Bolt's 100-meter sprint in 9.58 seconds meant an average speed of 37.6 km/h.
Of course, that is average and Bolt has recorded a peak speed of almost 44 km/h.
But again Haaland produces that in between 90 minutes of a game while Bolt sprints for under 10 seconds to cover his 100 metres.
Both are tremendous athletes and possibly peak human abilities for our time but just putting it all in context.
And Tyreek Hill did that speed in football gear(American that is), and also ran a 20.1 200m at 17. Same weight and 6 inches shorter than Haaland(15.25cm). Soccer/Football players are great athletes, but the real freaks of nature belong to the NFL and NBA. DK Metcalf, Derrick Henry, Myles Garrett, Lebron, Giannis, Tyreek Hill, and the list could run forever. The day a 230-250lb(105-115kg-ish) man is outrunning the backline in Soccer is when we can have a discussion.

@@paytonmarlow3639 Fair do's to them, but in what way is this relevant? I ain't a complete hater of the NFL, in fact my parents probably like it more than soccer/football, but it just seems like you are demeaning physical players in our sport, who play with nowhere near as many breaks as NFL players, for no other reason then a sport rivalry.
Also, I don't think NBA should be anywhere in this discussion, the pitches are so comparatively small. Not that they're weak or slow in that sport.
@@paytonmarlow3639 They're stamina is awful. Why do you think all positions in the NFL need crazy amounts of substitutions? They're doing this sprinting for 90 minutes at a time. Top level athletes in every game have certain attributes that make them marvel. Tyreek Hill's speed is insane but is playing a fundamentally way different game.
Haaland is very fast but that 36 km/h is only held for at least 2 to 3 seconds compared to usain who maintained 37 km/h for under 10 seconds. Most elite footballers at speed will struggle to break the 11 second barrier but there is nothing wrong with that as speed alone does not make you a great footballer

Haaland is a class act - from being humble and self-critical in interviews, to spending extra time with the City youth academy to personally congratulating each one of his teammates in the tunnel after they battered LFC, to his selflessness on the pitch which is a true rarity in a striker. He seems to be the opposite of Mbappe and us City fans are so happy he’s like that. CTID!💙💙
I hope he can motivate Norway's national team. It's sad if great players like him can't appear in big tournaments for the national team.
Mbappe vs. Haaland. Mbappe has a head start to say the least. The Norwegian national team could hope for participation in the Euros or the WC, maybe quarterfinals in the next tournaments at best unless the team solidifies or more equal talent appears before Haalands and Ødegaards careers are on top or declining.
Norwegian kids will start playing football alot more because of Haaland, so i predict Norway to be a top tier team in about 5-10 years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær was way more popular than Haaland, and he had no impact on Norwegian football. Norway needs to use the French trick- import african players.

Great video! I love watching Haaland decimate the best of the best, and you captured his journey in a very succinct and eloquent way. I would love to see something about the US mens national team up and comers in the same fashion. As a US football, errr soccer, fan. We dont get a lot of love for our players explaining where they came from or how much our team has improved since the Donovan or Lalas days. With the world cup here, and US people finally paying attention for once it would be a great video to put out timing wise.

I believe, as short as his career has been, there has been no goalscorer better than him. The question about Haaland is: He is such a finely-tuned thoroughbred of an athlete. Big, strong, Olympic-level fast and also extremely agile for his size on top of all that football ability. No human in the world can stop Erling Haaland, the only thing that can stop him is his own body. Can he drag out his career into his late 20s and beyond? Because I'm not convinced he can.
If he can, he may have to blunt-down some of the nutty things he does like leap damn near 10 feet into the air with his foot 12 feet off the ground to control a pass.
Already we see him taking a quarter or a third of the season off through injury. Man City are going to have to protect him, wrap him in cotton wool in order to keep him fit. They'll have to do this forever. Save him for key games, they have a whole squad full of world-class players, let someone else play away at Nottingham Forest. Save him for the big Champion's League stuff, for the key Premier League games and so on. Doing this will take from him his ability to break every record in the book, which may go against his legacy, but it may also help him continue to be the world's greatest goalscorer beyond the age of 25.

Questionable. Even if we only take his nearly miraculous start to this season, CR7 and Messi have maintained a similar enough scoring rate for an entire season. Part of being the best scorer is also avoiding injuries. Again, the relevant comparisons are CR7 and Messi who are rarely injured for long and adapt their game smartly when they need to.

Great vid, very informative and looks very well researched.
I also think that the speed of which Erling has been rising is a result of making a very smart decision on every important turn in his career. I bet after Mk he could have gone to a number of clubs with a higher standing than Salzburg, but he and his father knew that Salzburg were and still are great at developing talent. Also after RBS it would have been easy to go to ManU, rejoin his former coach and earn a lot more money from the get go, but again decided for a team who are very good at developing talent and giving them experience at the highest level of football. Only when they felt that Erling was truly ready, they made the move to one of the best teams in the world and look how that is already looking to pay off.
I just hope Erling stays injury free as much as possible, then he could become one of the greatest ever. His humility made him very smart from a young age apparantly, so he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.
As a Bayern fan I'm still sad that he didn't join us, but he seems to fit so perfectly into this Man City team that it is just such a joy to watch him. It will be terrifying if and when City crosses paths with Bayern.

Almost a machine. The only thing that will let him down is ironically his greatest asset: his body. He's super strong and fast, but also very prone to injury. Guardiola is doing a terrific job so far at managing his game time but hopefully he stays healthy throughout his career.

After it was announced that Erling had signed for city I randomly watched a podcast by 3 city supporters and they asked everyone’s predictions. Most said he will have a solid season but would struggle to adapt to the premier league. The podcasters were on the fence and said they don’t really see the hype. I predicted that if he would stay at city for any extended period of time he wouldn’t just beat aguero’s records but that he would smash it. This was met with sarcasm and ridicule. And now? Now he is doing everything I predicted and so much more. He will be the best goal scorer of all time…comfortably

I just can't find myself to watch football in a country that has casually let nearly 6000 people die while building all the stadiums, who lets the workers live in squalor, then hires the same workers to be spectators for countries they have no affiliation with, and to top it all off, I hate FIFA, who is run by a bunch of corrupt snake charmers who thinks they are above international laws and denies people to speak out on human rights and politics. I fiind the whole tournament to be a disgusting mountain of manure. I haven't watched a single game, or even a full minute. I've kept myself updated on the results, that's about it.

Great documentary, but on that comparison with Kylian, I do believe Haaland is a much better goalscorer, but everything else, Mbappé does better. Mbappé is faster, can dribble better, is more skillful, can pass better...etc. Truly the best in the world.
