The only reason this channel doesn't have 5 million subscribers is because it's about History and that isn't popular with a lot of people BUT that takes nothing away from how brilliant a job you guys do. 👏
Thanks again. I love these at the end if the week.

I smiled when you started to talk about your family’s history. You obviously have a lot of affection and pride for your ancestors which is great! I think we all love hearing about your family’s personal history as much as we enjoy the other stories that you tell. After all, each person’s history weaves together with everyone else’s history to form a wonderful, fascinating fabric. So many interesting and diverse people in this place we call home. Thank you for another great episode 👍

A small cemetery in Edmonds, Wash. holds several of my relatives. Some I kind of remember my mother mentioning but I never
knew them. A couple we visited when I was age 4 or about, I remember the visit to see some one some place ?. My mom's dad and
mother are buried in Edmonds. I am 78 and my brother is 84, when we are gone there will be no one left to remember them. My wife and
I have one son and a grand daughter. Two to remember us for awhile and we will be forgotten when they are gone. Life goes on ---

I wondered if you’d like my family grave visits as I know you do the same and mention them. I was thinking about you too since I’m putting together a special video on the life of my mom and I think about what you’re going through with your mom. It’s sad to see them slip away. Very interesting, what I remember most about our history lessons was the imagines of the dust bowl of Oklahoma during the depression. Fire and draughts are a real fear of mine. Seeing your grandparent from Oklahoma and the dry backyard reminds me of that. Grew up around some of the most fertile farmlands in central Missouri. I remember after one flood of the MO river they looked like a sandy desert. Thanks again for showing their beautiful green resting places.

The hangar that some scenes from The Rocketeer is in Santa Maria CA and is now an air museum. The hangar was built for the movie. It's pretty much all wood and it's worth visiting, just check out the opening hours because it's only open a few days a week and at odd hours.

As a social worker, I visited Stockton State Hospital in the 1980s to check on clients. Hopefully, the treatment methods have improved since then. Locked facilities should always be the last option.

Dave Stevens was my comic book hero. I wasn't a comic book kid growing up. But when I discovered The Rocketeer, when it was introduced in Starslayer #2 (from 1982). I was hooked! Dave got me into comics, Bettie Page, and the glamorous 1930s. When Disney bought the rights I can't too thrilled cuz I knew they'd put their .2¢ into the story and creativeness. But only minor changes occurred and didn't ruin the overall flavor of Cliff Seacord and The Rocketeer. Flash forward 20+ years... My girlfriend at the time lived in Turlock and 2½ miles from Turlock cemetery. It was a long-distance relationship at first w/ me living down in Orange County. I traveled up to spend some time w/ her for one of my birthdays. Knowing she had to work during the day and spend my time craving at the local cemeteries until she got off work. Turlock cemetery is one of the easiest centuries to locate their residents at. Clearing marked drives, curbs, and graves. I found Dave w/ no troubles at all. I love that he had his logo, the bulldog, on his marker. It's a beautiful cemetery, very well laid out in its older and newer sections. It had been raining the days before I arrived so the dark, lingering clouds made for some dramatic backgrounds in the photos I took while there.
Thanx for including your family's history. I'm sure, while thru my meandering about I encountered your kin. Thanx for a fun video. It brought back some great memories.

This video was very interesting as they all are. Both our family members history are similar - mine came out from Arkansas (late 30’s - mid-40!s) worked the fields, lived in the farm labor camps and worked in the Oakland shipyards. My dad was in the Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Third Triangle. The Greatest Generation.

You seemed sort of surprised when you noticed that the flower pot containers were cemented into the ground or rather the base of the headstone. A lot of times they just do that because a lot of them were made out of copper which means the thieves were taking them. Both of my cousins buried in Long Beach California are missing their little flower pots because of thieves. It appears that these thieves are prey to the dead because they're easy target. But they will meet their maker in the end. That's sick.

Back in the 20’s and 30’s they had an old stove in the kitchen to keep the house heated. My grandmother asked my grandfather to put some potato skins and food in the stove. When loving memories of family are added to that search, the result can be overwhelming. Hi Jeff, That was an interesting stroll through your family history and the comic book history. I missed a few of your last videos and am catching up....somehow History Hunters was deleted from my subscriptions list but I have added it back. Thanks for another fun trip.

When I started going to sci-fi/comic book cons as a teen in the early 80's, "Rocketeer" had just come out; it had such a "retro" look that I didn't know at first that it was new! ALL of the fangirls crushed HARD on Dave, he was SO cute and so very sweet. It's because of him that so many people know Bettie Page!

I enjoyed The Rocketeer movie also and did not know about the artist behind the movie. Hope to see more episodes soon. I especially hope to see ones in the future about the Motherlode as I've grown to love this area. Thanks again for all yours and Sarah's efforts. See you next week.

Another excellent episode. Fascinating to learn about Dave Stevens. Side note I think the inscription might have read Lickum instead of ickum? Really great to hear about your family and it's nice they are all so close that you can visit and pay your respects. Cheers to another job well done.....Hi Sarah!
